1970 Ford Galaxie 500 With A/c (r-12) And Restored on 2040-cars

Year:1970 Mileage:72999
Location:

Nampa, Idaho, United States

Nampa, Idaho, United States

I'm selling my 1970 that has been restored from the interior to engine compartment, front-end (needs aligned but can do it if needed), engine lower half rebuilt, new brakes and drums all the way around, new tires and too much to list from the interior out. The Air Conditioning was redone on it and recharged with R-12, it blows nice and cold. I got a NOS AM/FM Stereo and clock in the car. I did add speakers in the back and front for it. Carpet is new in the original color and loop pile everything needed to be done was done. The front end is completely redone as were the brakes.

It's a no-reserve auction!

The front end had all the paint removed as seen in the pictures and primed and undercoated. This car would make an awesome daily driver and it sure gets a lot of looks. The trunk looks like factory and I kept the orginal spare with it in the trunk. This car will definitely make you smile.

Like I said it's a great car, like new interior and even the headliner and exterior. Dash pad needs replacing, just placed a carpet pad on it formed for the dash. The pictures tell the story on this car. You can read about it as the car of the month at the misfitfords dot com site.

This should be considered a condition 2 or 3 car from Hagerty. I have 6 cars and have to thin them out. 3 are leaving including a 1971 Triumph Spitfire just painted.

The pictures tell the story I guess :-)  Please ask any questions before bidding.

I am also including a 7-layer car cover.

AT THE END OF AUCTION, you will need to arraign for pickup in 7 days and provide a deposit of $1,500 in 2 days via PayPal. If you're local you need to come by in 2 days. You can drive the car home with no worries. If you can not meet these conditions, please do not bid.

Also, no money orders and no special shipping to Nigeria. Bank transfers or pick up with cash only.

Does the new 2015 Ford Mustang have a burnout control system?

Tue, 10 Dec 2013

Whether it's lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring or automatic emergency braking, most of the electronic systems we see emerging on new vehicles focus on safety. But there are some there just for enthusiasts. We're talking about systems like automatic throttle blipping for perfect downshifts, or launch control to get that textbook acceleration from a standstill. But the latest system could prove just the opposite of the latter.
Although it has given us most of the details, Ford is still keeping certain elements of its new Mustang secret. But emerging reports may have the skinny on one system which Ford is trying is darnedest to keep under its hat for the time being. That, according to unnamed sources cited by Motor Authority, is burnout control.
The system is reportedly designed to help novices execute the perfect smokey burnout - sort of like launch control, but specifically the opposite. The system could, according to elaborative speculation, lock the front brakes while spooling up the engine to optimal revolutions before dumping (or indicating the driver to do dump) the clutch. A cloud of tire smoke and a long pair of skid marks would then ensue.

Ford to build Explorer in Russia to meet demand [w/video]

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

The current Ford Explorer is sold in more than 64 countries, and this three-row vehicle continues to grow in popularity worldwide. To keep up with demand, Ford began producing the Explorer at Ford Sollers Elabuga Assembly Plant in Tatarstan, Russia, a joint venture facility. This partnership will build Russian-market Explorers only, and production of export vehicles not destined for Russian buyers will continue to be built at Ford's assembly plant in Chicago.
Before this plant went online, Ford would ship Explorers to Russia (and other regions around the world) as partially assembled knock-down units where final assembly would eventually take place. While there is no indication as to how many Explorers Ford Sollers will build for Russia, Ford did add that exports of the SUV were up 65 percent last year (from 2011) accounting for more than 24,000 units.
Scroll down for a press release about the Russian Explorer as well as a video (bad music and all) showing the SUV being produced in Tatarstan.

Project Ugly Horse alive and kicking at Road & Track

Thu, 29 Aug 2013

The hallways of the Autoblog campus are much quieter now that Zach Bowman has taken his prose, along with his welders, wrenches and hammers, over to the digital pages of Road & Track, but that doesn't mean our favorite project Mustang is gone forever. Project Ugly Horse is still coming along, and Zach has gifted us another update on his unfoxy Fox Body.
Last we saw of the Ugly Horse, Zach was strengthening up the '89 Mustang's chassis as he prepares to stuff the turbocharged, direct-injected EcoBoost engine of a Ford Focus ST under the hood. First things first, the old mill must go. Head on over to Road & Track to catch the latest chapter of Project Ugly Horse.
