1966 Ford Galaxie 500 4 door

This is a great original car. Great overall condition, runs and drives great. This is an unrestored, unmodified, untouched original car. It is the original paint, no damage, no repairs and all the doors, hood and trunk fit great with even gaps. It has all the trim, hubcaps and it is complete. It shows just under 56,000 and that is the original miles. I purchased it from the family who owned it all its life. Please read below for all the details.

Engine:

390 Cubic inch

Automatic

Power steering

The car has had a recent tune up, transmission service, brakes checked and carb rebuilt. It goes down the road really well, no knocks, no smoke. It runs, shifts and idles great. When I say recent, it has only 10 miles on it since work has been done by a professional shop.

New tires.

Interior:

The front seat has no rips although the bottom on the driver’s side the material is separated. It may be able to be stretched and fixed.

The back seat is perfect.

The dash has no cracks and has good color.

The carpet is worn and torn on the driver’s side only at the door.

The door panels are worn at the top and bottom although in good shape overall.

The pillar covers are broken and a new set, the right color comes with the car.

The headliner is in good shape except for a small tear near the back seat coat hook.

I have the steering wheel chrome horn ring, it is not on the wheel.

Exterior:

Original paint. It is faded although I think it could be buffed out to drive it as is.

There are a few rust spots, although not big. They are on the passenger left hand door, the size of a quarter. The two rear fenders at the bottom have a little rust. The floors are good, no rust. No rust in the door jambs. The frame and underbody is good.

The trunk has rust on the lip where the latch is. Also the trunk floor has rust although only pin holes through the floor. Easily fixable.

All the trim and emblems are on the car.

The outside mirrors are off the car, I have them and they will come with the car.

The front bumper is rusty on the bottom half. No thru holes, although a little rusty.

The back bumper has surface rust. It is in good shape

Both bumpers are straight, no dents and they are not bent.

All the trim around all the doors, windows, side and around the wheel wells is very good.

All emblems are there.

All glass is good, no cracks.

The light bezels, front and back are good along with the lenses.

The grille has only one small dent which can easily be corrected.

This is great original car that runs and drives great, is in great original condition, is very straight and comes with all the parts. You can drive it now and fix it as you go or just leave it like this, buff it out and have a great time for very little money.

Pickup only, no delivery.

Please arrange for pickup soon after winning as the place where I have it stored inside was recently sold and I will no longer have that storage location.

Deposit within 5 days, via Paypal or cash or certified check.

No trades please.

Please feel free to ask questions.

Aussie Ford Falcon GT shows its rear end to Lamborghini Gallardo

Sun, 27 Apr 2014

When Ford Australia announces, as it did recently, that it wants to celebrate the end of its Ford Performance Vehicle division with a Falcon FPV GT-F that celebrates big-bore origins of the nameplate, it's talking about the kind of car in this video.
At some point the classic Falcon GT - said to be an XY series - was invited to a test of acceleration against a Lamborghini Gallardo. At the very least, the Falcon GT had a 351 cubic-inch motor and 300 horsepower, but whatever this guy's got under the hood of his yellow sedan makes has him so confident that he doesn't even move his elbow from its resting place on the door.
You'll find a reminder of Ford Australia's heyday, a raucous exhaust note and some NSFW language in the short video below.

America was the unexpected theme at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show thanks to Trump

Wed, Jan 11 2017

President-elect Donald Trump was not in attendance at this year's Detroit Auto Show, but it sure seemed like he was the target audience for many of the press conferences and announcements surrounding the event. Several manufacturers chose to play up existing and future commitments to the US in general and American jobs specifically in their presentations to the press, and we're pretty sure that has everything to do with Trump's recent targeting of automakers on Twitter. To us, it seemed automakers were going on the offensive to try and preempt any future tweet-shaming for investing in auto manufacturing anywhere but the US. The pro-America sentiment started the week prior to the auto show, with Ford announcing that it would build several future electrified vehicles at its Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Michigan and also cancel a $1.6 billion factory planned for Mexico. Ford announced the two items on the same day, but the reality is that they likely have no relation to each other; the Mexican plant is being skipped because the company doesn't need the extra capacity to build the Ford Focus right now. Trump was still happy to share the news on Twitter. Then, on Sunday, FCA announced it would invest $1 billion in manufacturing plants in Ohio and Michigan to produce the new Jeep Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, and Wrangler-based pickup. It's not as though those potential new jobs were on their way out of the US, necessarily, but FCA took the opportunity to mention that plant upgrades at the Warren Truck Plant would allow the company to build Ram heavy duty trucks, which are currently assembled in Mexico, there. CEO Sergio Marchionne confirmed that Trump and his proposed tariffs had nothing to do with the decision. We certainly believe that, but we also have to believe that the timing of the release, positive outcome for America, and zero gain for Mexico were all orchestrated. Again, Trump sent out a victory tweet as if this had been his doing. Ford then used its press conference at the show on Monday to reiterate the plans for Flat Rock and also confirm that the Ford Bronco and Ranger nameplates will be returning to the US market, and that both will be built at a plant in Michigan. Announcements of manufacturing locations are usually aimed at the UAW, which certainly has a stake in these things, but again this one was broadcast to the auto show crowd in general.

Ford Mustang 50th anniversary edition brings in $170k

Tue, 30 Sep 2014

Just the other day, we reported on the first Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat selling for a whopping $825,000 at auction. But impressive as that sum was, the Challenger wasn't the only sought-after modern muscle car to cross the Barrett-Jackson auction block in Las Vegas this past weekend. So did this rare Ford Mustang.
The last of 1,964 special-edition 50 Years Limited Edition pony cars sold for a princely $170,000, with proceeds benefiting the Edith and Benson Ford Heart & Vascular Institute, a branch of the Henry Ford Health System.
The pony car in question is based on the 2015 Ford Mustang GT and upgrades with a performance package and nearly every option on the book, along with a unique appearance package to set it apart in celebration of the Mustang's 50th anniversary. It's available in two exclusive shades - Wimbledon white or Kona blue - with either a manual or automatic transmission. Only 1,964 highly symbolic examples were to be built, and this was the last of them.
