1966 Galaxie -2 dr ht

This car is a reliable driving car that needs some tinkering that is all pretty easy small repairs

The Mechanical things that need attention
-the brakes are really grabby, unless you pump them a little first.Pretty darn sure this is an air bubble and the brakes need to be bleed.
-the carb has a bit of run on ,it is running rich and just needs some fine tuning I beilieve(thus the car failed air care in B.C.)
-the fuel gauge doesn't work
-the horn works but is wired off the dash
-the dip stick on the transmission is broken and there is a bit of a leak at the pan, just needs a new gasket.May need linkage adjusted ,needs to warm up before going into drive, once it is warmed up in the morning,it's good for the day
-the wiper switch is touchy,(I have a spare)

the mechanical that has been replaced in the last year
-new brakes,rotors and drums
-new shocks
-new carb
-new tires
-steering box
-battery
-all the turn signals and lights work
-the car was bought in Washigton and safety inspected when brought into BC.It is a relatively simple process to import a car into the US
-previous owner told me he put a rebuilt 392 in,I have no way of verify this however a compression test was done six months ago and it came out with perfect compression
-the vin tag says 352,I can't say this is original motor or not.I am pretty sure it has been rebuilt
interior
-overall quite nice cloth seats quite obviously redone in the last few years
-the seats and are nice no rips no tears
-the dash was replaced,no cracks
-the drivers seat has a bit of sag like an old but its a detail
-the door panels are straight,no wrinkles(the knob to a window roller is missing)
-the headliner is nice,a small tear \i have tried to capture in pictures
overall a very nice interior

the body
-there is no trim on the car but I have a trunk full of it.The best I can tell is one of the four  pieces of stainless around the back window is missing and some of the ford letters, the rest seems to be all there but I cannot say for sure
-the paint is a home job and needs to be redone. It has nicks and scrapes.
-the floors are solid no holes
-the frame has no rust
-the trunk is solid,no holes but there has been some fiberglass repair done on the back panel
-there is no rust hols in the body, some surface rust here and there,I am sure there has been fiberglass and Bondo here and there
-there has been a bit of a crunch(ie back into a pole at low speed in a parking lot)oops. The back bumper has been pulled out and is straight, however there is a but of repair needed,it was not a high speed accident
So in short this is a good running car,I have driven and would drive it on the highway just about anywhere you would drive a 45 year old car.I used it as a daily driver and it was alwasys  stellar .I have been using this as daily driver and due to impending move I have to thin down my collection.I encourage you to check out the car or if you have any questions please call me at 778 229 5357

Ford to cease Australian automaking operations after 90 years

Thu, 23 May 2013

Ford began manufacturing cars in Australia in 1925 with the Model T. In 2016, Ford will stop manufacturing cars Down Under, including the Falcon and the Territory SUV. Ford Australia CEO Bob Graziano has reportedly confirmed the closure of the company's Broadmeadows assembly plant and the Geelong engine plant, both in the state of Victoria. There will be 650 jobs lost at Broadmeadows, 510 sacrificed at Geelong. Of the roughly 3,000 workers the Blue Oval has in Australia, it's said it will try to retain about 1,000 of them at its R&D and product development facilities.
The writing hasn't just been on the wall, it's been a regular item in all the papers and on Ford's bottom line for years. As recently as 2003, Ford sold nearly 75,000 Falcons, but over the next four years, annual sales dropped by something like 10,000 units, and over the last two years, it has sold less than 20,000 per year. It isn't only Ford that has suffered - sales of the other large, locally produced sedan, the Holden Commodore, have also gone over the precipice, triggering the same kind of angst about Holden's continued existence. Ford is the smallest of Australia's local automakers, Holden and Toyota the others, and has posted losses of $AUD141 million last year ($136M US) and $AUD600 million ($580M US) in the past five years. Graziano said the cost of manufacturing is simply too expensive in the country, twice as high as Europe and three times as high as Asia, and there no way to make a business case for staying in the country.
In January 2012, Ford Australia announced it would stay in the country until at least 2016, but by July of the same year, most outside observers were quietly declaring that 2016 would be the last year of Ford Down Under, and even the speculation was making other observers nervous. Ford received money from the Victorian government last year to aid its refresh of the Falcon and Territory, which will continue on schedule for the 2014 model year. A front- and all-wheel-drive sedan on a global platform is predicted to replace the Falcon, with some other SUV expected to replace the Territory. The company says it still intends to expand its lineup in the country.

Daimler consulting with Ford about 3-cylinder engines

Mon, 27 May 2013

Soon enough, Ford will offer its 1.0-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder engine under the hood of the Fiesta here in the United States, building on the success of the small powerplant overseas. In fact, this success has caused other automakers to take notice, and according to Automotive News Europe, Daimler is now talking to Ford about this engine for use in its own products.
In other markets, Ford offers the 1.0-liter mill under the hood of the Focus (we had the chance to sample this package on our home turf), as well as the B-Max MPV. For this new collaboration, Daimler would use the turbo-three in the next-generation Smart ForTwo, as well as the Renault Twingo, which the German automaker will be collaborating on as part of its alliance with Renault-Nissan. Speaking to AN, a Mercedes-Benz engineer called the 1.0-liter mill an "interesting and impressive engine."
In exchange for details about the EcoBoost inline-three, Daimler will supply Ford with information regarding its Euro6 stratified lean-burn gasoline engine, which is found in the new E-Class sedan.

Ford Fiesta ST customs get wild at SEMA

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

The massive 57-car SEMA showcase by Ford ranges from obvious aftermarket-friendly models like the Mustang, to the not so obvious ones, like the Transit Connect and cute-as-an-explosive-button Fiesta ST. Ford plucked several Fiesta STs for SEMA duty, and we were on the show floor today to get a closer look at some of them.
First up is the striking COBB Tuning and Tanner Foust Racing Fiesta ST (above) finished in a black-and-gray digital camouflage, much like that used in the military, and is meant to raise awareness for the Pat Tillman Foundation. COBB also fitted a three-inch exhaust and a cold-air intake. A new shift knob, carbon-fiber hood and a Kicker stereo round out the mix of upgrades.
MRT got its hands on a Fiesta ST and created a car inspired by Forza Motorsport 5 (below, left). Featuring a two-tone paint job and more performance upgrades than you can shake a stick at, this Fiesta ST is one of the cooler compacts at Ford's stand. A high-performance exhaust system, along with a complimentary COBB induction system, allows the ST to breathe better, while an H&R coil over suspension and Steeda brakes help it stop and turn better than stock.
