San Luis Obispo, California, United States
1965 Ford Galaxie Vintage street drag car I'm putting up my fast "n" loud 65 Galaxie. If you want a vintage race look and performance that still handles the street here you go. It's packing a nicely built stroker 390 f.e.It's been bored .030" over with pistons and rings and has a balanced 428 crank and comes out to be 416 c.i.d. The block has been line bored with all new bearings and the crankshaft is girdled with ARP main bolts canton windage tray and drag baffled ford racing oil pan. comp cam hyd lifters and flat tappet .580 lift cam. the heads have been decked and have enlarged stainless valves 1.65 exh and 2.09 int topped with a Edelbrock XF-66 crossram intake.with two tuned 600 cfm performer carbs. and custom built headers by Stan at Ford Power Accessories with 2.5" exhaust and cutouts. And has a custom crossram dual carb nitrious set up capable of a 600 shot. but i run a 200 shot on the street and have done a 300 shot pass. Engine builder says 550hp on motor only, and can handle the 850hp on N02. Transmission is a built c6 with hd clutches a TCI 3000 stall convertor and a full manual reverse transbrake TCI valve body and deep oil pan. Going back to a ford 9" with strange 1000hp nodular 3ed member a full spool and 3.89 polished gears. All the brakes are stock but new and stops very well, the front suspension has comp eng adj 90/10 shocks and upgraded coil springs, the rear is a stock 3 link set up with air shocks and drag bags in the coil springs and hoosier street slicks. It has a msd digital 6al ignition with No2 retarder and two stage rev limiter and mallory pro master coil and mallory unilite distributor . huge dual cooling fans and 4 core aluminum radiator dual air fuel meters and all the gauges you need minus a speedometer cause i use my i phone. the interior has been reupholstered but could use door panels, the body has a crapy paint job but looks good from 20 feet. and there is minor dents and rust. This car is very fast and most people cant believe its legal to drive on the street. its got a clear pink, registrations up to date. i drive it around town and to work but gas mileage is crap and it will get to 210 if stuck in traffic. any questions please ask. i will consider trades plus cash. 925 354 8741 trevor if bought for the buy it now price I will install front disc brakes with master and booster and new pmt adj reat upper and lower control links and panhard bar, and sway bar. a 3000 value On Jan-14-14 at 22:06:20 PST, seller added the following information: FYI i only have about 3000 miles on this car. it gets driven every weekend at least. and says goodbuy to a z06 iknow from dusting a few. and there is more then whats listed ,over 20k ask me where ill let you know. but its reserve is much less good luck. ive timed the car on the street and it ran a 10.5 on no2 on the 200 shot. but thats a stop watch. On Jan-14-14 at 22:11:12 PST, seller added the following information: sorry for poor picture quality but the engine bay is about as clean as it gets and wiring and trunk looks awsome On Jan-16-14 at 18:34:02 PST, seller added the following information: I had also just installed a quick fuel 350gph fuel pump a Holley billet hi flow filter 5/8 aluminum fuel line feeding a Holley billet regulator with all black AN fittings and return fuel line system into a magna flow block out to the carbs and No2 system. 2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost already hitting 12-second quarters
Sun, 28 Sep 2014The arrival of a new Ford Mustang means many things to many people, but not least of them is drag racers. The pony car has always been a mainstay of the drag strip, and the Ford Racing team aims to carry that reputation forward with this latest generation. So it cooked up a few basic modifications on three new 'Stangs and headed to the strips at US 131 and Milan Dragway to see what they could coax out of 'em.
Impressively, the 5.0-liter V8 Mustang GT with a few modifications (but no forced induction) managed to clock a quarter-mile time of 11.77 seconds. Another Mustang GT fitted with a supercharger clocked a blistering 10.97 seconds. But just as intriguing was the modified EcoBoost model that, with only four cylinders and 2.3 liters of displacement, still passed the gates in just 12.56 seconds - nearly half a second better than expected. This with modification limited to a new subframe, half-shaft, drive shaft loops, exhaust, engine calibration, slicks, roll cage and bucket seat. Well done, boys.
