This is a running and driving, completely original (to my knowledge), and absolutely complete, 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 LTD.
 I have not verified due to lack of knowledge of how to research it, but it is possible that every number matches on this car. Please let me know if you would like any pictures of Vin/Part numbers of any place on the car. Happy to do it.

352 V-8 with 4 bbl carb, and automatic transmission.
Car was maintained like any daily driver with break jobs, oil change, transmission fluid changes, regular driving, car washes and detailing, lubrication, and so on up until about 1-2 years ago.
It was then parked in perfect driving shape, just got a new car and let it sit since I did not need it.

Car has a fairly rare Continental package which includes;
- rear fender skirts (super easy to remove and in great shape),
- Ridiculously deep rear bumper,
- and an exterior mount housing for spare tire in rear, to say the least.
For all you die hard Ford guys, please let me know if I have identified this trim package correctly, This is correct to my understanding.

Condition of the car;
THE GOOD;
- There is not a single place on the car with cancerous rust, to my knowledge. Extremely straight and solid body and frame, to my knowledge. Granted, I have not been under the car for a while, so if you want some additional under carriage pictures, or other areas, please feel free to ask.
It has near perfect headliner, dash, door panels, window mechanicals, all gauges, body panels, front grille (look at picture, very nice), all lights, all wiring, Again, it was a daily driver for a long time,.
 Really very minimal wrong with the car in it functionality. All original hub caps, even.
THE BAD;
- kept having an exhaust manifold gasket leak, repaired a couple times.
- obviously the paint job could use redone, since it is flaking off, faded, and some exposed areas with minor surface rust, but, again, body is in pretty darn good shape.
- there are a few worn spots on the seats, but they are all original.

I will guarantee this car to start, maintain temperature, drive, and stop upon pick up.
Keep in mind, this is a used 1965 car, and will obviously need some things done that I do not know about.

That is pretty much all I know of the car, and would welcome any questions.

Will require $1000 deposit, (or full purchase price if it sells for less than $1,000) within 72 hours of auction close.
Remainder balance due within 7 calendar days in the form of cash, cashiers check, or money order, or Paypal the remaining balance.
Balance must be paid in full prior to taking car or title.
Local pick up only, I am not able to ship it at this time, but will cooperate if you hire a person to ship it to you independent of our transaction.

Thank you for looking, hate to see this piece of history go, but it is time.

Ford Q3 pretax profits drop to $1.18B

Fri, 24 Oct 2014

Following positive third quarter financial results recently from General Motors, rival Ford took a tumble in Q3. The automaker posted pre-tax profits of $1.18 billion, compared to about $2.59 billion in Q3 2013, a drop of around 54 percent. Net income also suffered with $835 million made in the quarter, versus $1.272 billion last year, a decline of about 34 percent. The Blue Oval blamed the gloomy figures on three reasons in its release: "lower volume, higher warranty costs and adverse balance sheet exchange effects."
There were problems of one kind or another in practically every region. North America experienced higher warranty costs than expected, partially due to recalls. The sales volume for the quarter was 665,000 units, versus 725,000 in Q3 2013, and pre-tax results amounted to $1.41 billion versus $2.296 billion last year.
South America and Europe both posted worse pre-tax results than last year. On the bright side, European volume was up slightly to 321,000 vehicles, from 303,000 in Q3 2013. The Middle East and Africa also lost $15 million, but that was an improvement compared to the $25 million loss previously experienced in this region.

Car and Driver shows off awesome 1960s ads

Fri, Sep 11 2015

Someone must have recently rediscovered the keys to the archives at Car and Driver, and the access has been put to good use. Following last month's fantastic look at automotive ads from the '50s, there's now a new gallery running from March 1960 through December 1969. This collection provides a great overview of a decade full of iconic cars. If you're a fan of Carroll Shelby, particularly his Mustangs, then there's a lot to love among this group. One ad from July 1965 aimed to sell the GT350, but with an ocean of text and a tiny picture, it probably could've used a once-over by Don Draper's team. By December '65, the copywriters ironed out the problems with a spot proclaiming boldly "Shelby GT350 is 'Son of Cobra.'" The company offered some great accessories, too. For those into European motoring, there's a humorous attempt to sell the Alfa Romeo Giulia as both a racecar and family hauler. Toyota also boasts about the winning record for the 2000GT. Among the best text comes from BMW for lines like: "What's BMW got? The most advanced high-performance engine in any production car, for a cruising speed of 100 mph." Of course, Volkswagen's famous "Lemon" ad for the Beetle also gets its due here. Separately, each of these ads is fascinating, but taken together they tell the story of a great decade of motoring. Go give them all a read at Car and Driver. Ford Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost sales robust in early going

Tue, 13 May 2014

Okay, okay, okay, so I was just a smidge wrong. Those that read my review of the Ford Fiesta with the new 1.0-liter, EcoBoost engine will know that while I really enjoyed the torquey little three-cylinder, I was concerned that Ford's decision to force 1.0-liter owners into a manual transmission, steel wheels and one trim level might hurt sales of the new engine. I was also concerned that the promised 45-mile-per-gallon highway rating wouldn't be enough to tempt buyers into trying an engine that's so far outside of what the general public is use to. My concerns, though, seem to have been for naught.
While not doing a booming business on the triple-equipped Fiesta, Ford is seeing a take rate of four to eight percent per month in the engine's first few months on sale. Now, four to eight percent might not sound like a lot - if, like last year, the Fiesta sells around 71,000 units, there'd be barely 5,600 1.0-liter models on the road. It is also small potatoes relative to the take rate on EcoBoost-equipped vehicles across the Ford range, which US sales analyst Erich Merkle estimates to be roughly 35 to 40 percent of retail sales. Still, according to The Detroit News, the 1.0-liter is getting adopted at roughly the same rate as the sparkling Fiesta ST, which should be a solid indication of just how well this little engine is doing.
The 1.0-liter's success "really speaks volumes, not just to what we're doing with the Fiesta, but with EcoBoost in general," Merkle told Autoblog.
