1964 Ford Galaxie XL 500 289 V8 3 speed Automatic on Console 2 barrel carburetor with single exhaust
If you love factory stock cars, then this is the car for you. This 1964 Ford Galaxie XL 500 has 71,134 actual miles. The original owner purchased this car new in 1964 in Scottsbluff NE. We bought the car in 1997 and are the 2nd owners of the car. It has been kept in a garage since purchase. We drove it today when we took it out to take pictures. The interior seats are original, as is the carpet. It has factory installed air conditioning, and the original spare tire in the trunk. We purchased this car at an estate sale. The little old lady who bought this car new, drove it for years to go shopping. When she could no longer drive, she hired people to drive her to the store. We talked to the mechanic who serviced the car on a regular basis for her and he said it was a very good car. The car has a few dings that are shown in the pictures. The paint is original from the factory, I call the color a creamy yellow, my husband calls it tan, with a white roof. Factory color is Prairie Tan body with Wimbledon white roof. The car is as original, as the day it rolled out of the Ford Factory. This is a beautiful car in a very good condition as you can see by the pictures.

2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid recalled over lack of roof padding
Mon, 29 Jul 2013Ford is recalling 33,021 units of its 2013 C-Max Hybrid not equipped with optional panoramic roof panels. During testing, the model in question returned testing results for occupant head injuries that fell outside of criteria laid out in the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard. The issue puts occupants at greater risk of injury in the event of a crash if they are in an affected car.
The recall will begin August 19, at which time C-Max Hybrid owners can take their cars to dealers to have energy-absorbent material installed between the headliner and roof. The bulletin below from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has more information.
'Car Wars' says Ford, Honda to pick up share, Fiat-Chrysler ambitions downplayed
Sat, 14 Jun 2014Don't look for a tremendous shifts in automotive market share over the next three years because it might not be coming. That's at least according to the annual Car Wars report by John Murphy, from Bank of America Merrill Lynch Global Research.
In the report's analysis of automakers' market share from 2013 to 2017, it predicts only small changes among the major companies. Ford and Honda see the biggest positive effect with an estimated 0.5 percent increase in their shares over the next three years; to 16.2 percent and 10.3 percent respectively. On the flip side, European automakers and Nissan are expected to lose 0.2 percent each to fall to 8.3 percent and 7.8 percent each respectively. The rest of the industry is predicted to hold steady as it is now.
The biggest loser in that prediction might be Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles. The report certainly throws a wet blanket on its plan for significant gains in market share. Murphy told The Detroit News that the company's goal was "almost unattainable."
