The vehicle has been sitting in the garage for the past 8-9yrs. We just don't have the time work on the car. The interior of the vehicle has been strip down. At one point we were planning to restore the entire car. The front bumper has been re-chromed and that was done about 3 yrs ago so it might have a few scratches. The vehicle does turn on. A 2.3L EcoBoost four-cylinder takes over where the old 2.0 left off, making 270 hp and 300 lb-ft.
Right now, around 23 percent of all Ford vehicles sold in the United States is a utility vehicle. By 2020, Ford expects that figure to increase all the way to 29 percent. Put simply, SUVs and crossovers are very big business at Ford. So, when it comes time to update the Explorer, Ford's original sport utility vehicle, you can be sure that a whole heck of a lot of effort goes into the process.
