1964 Ford Galaxie 500 on 2040-cars

Year:1964 Mileage:164000
Location:

Mandan, North Dakota, United States

Mandan, North Dakota, United States

I am not Ford man but I had to save this car. The previous owner was going to use it for a demolition derby. I couldn't stand to see a Galaxy 2dr fastback get smashed.
The car was originally a 289 with a 3 speed cruise-o-matic. I swapped out the 289 for a low milage Ford reman 302 (18K). I added a 4 barrel, edelbrock intake and brand new Edelbrock 650 carb. The sale will include the original 289 motor and tranny to take it back to original, if you prefer.
This car is not a rust bucket like most. It is rusted in the rear body mounts. floor pans are good, just rust pin hole in passenger side. This is indicated in the pics. quarters are pretty sold, not totally rust like most. rocker are ok also. one hole in the drivers side rocker. trunk is solid except for body mount.
The front windshield is cracked but all the other glass is good, not faded or discolored.
Has factory power steering.
Interior is rough and in need of total restoration. Carpet and headliner are gone, but the rest is there. seats are torn and dash is cracked. Gauges all seem to work.
I only took a few pics. I thought I would let buyers  request pics  as you want.
A tree fell on the hood so it will probably need a new skin. See in pics.

I do have the hood I just haven't put it back on since engine swap.

That is about all I can think of for now. I have tried to explain the car as best I can so let me know what information you need.

A 500 dollar deposit is do via paypal within 24 hours of successful bid. the remaining amount is do in cash on day of pickup or within 4days of auction end via cashiers check.

Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs. The car runs and drives nice so it can be loaded easily, i prefer no International bidding.

Ford auctioning off F-35-themed 2015 Mustang for charity

Wed, 16 Jul 2014

Ford's been a supporter of EAA AirVenture, a huge, annual air show held in Oshkosh, WI, for several years now, with one of its most notable contributions being a modified Ford Mustang, designed to look like one of America's great fighting aircraft. There was an SR-71 Mustang, based on the legendary spy plane, a Red Tails edition, which honored the ground-breaking Tuskegee Airmen of World War II, as well as Blue Angels and Thunderbird Mustangs, based on America's two great military aerial demonstration teams.
Each car is auctioned off, with all proceeds going to the EAA Young Eagles program, which introduces kids to the joy of flight. For the 2014 AirVenture, which runs from July 28 to August 3, the one-off pony car is based on the new-for-2015 Mustang, and America's latest fighting aircraft - the controversial F-35 Lightning II.
The unique Mustang sports titanium paint scheme, with both glossy and matte sections, as well as yellow-and-blue trim and decal elements inspired by CF-1, the first F-35 test plane. A carbon-fiber front splitter and rear diffuser add some visual eye candy, while the interior boasts a set of Recaro seats. Ford also opted to fit unique wheels and a brawnier rear spoiler, to tie everything together.

Ford supports bid for Detroit Rallycross race with Motown-minded Fiesta ST vid

Mon, 01 Jul 2013

As Ford continues its cheerleading effort to help bring the 2014 Summer X Games to its hometown of Detroit, MI, it has released footage of its 2014 Fiesta ST Rallycross car on location at some of the city's well-known landmarks. This video appears to have been shot around the same time as the previous X Games Detroit video was made, but it focuses 100-percent on rally car action.
With Ford Racing driver Andreas Eriksson behind the wheel, this Fiesta ST lays down some serious rubber atop Detroit's Cobo Hall parking structure, at Belle Isle and around the Michigan Central Depot. Detroit isn't alone in the bid for a three-year X Games contract as Chicago, Austin and Charlotte are also hoping to play host. The winning host city is expected to be announced this summer. Scroll down for Ford's two-minute video showing the Fiesta ST Rallycrossing through the Motor City.

Leno drives Henry Ford II's all-original '52 Ferrari 212 Barchetta

Tue, 17 Jun 2014

The story of the relationship between Henry Ford II and Enzo Ferrari is absolutely fascinating. The two great men of the auto industry had what appeared to be a burgeoning friendship until Ferrari pulled out of a deal to sell his company to Ford in the '60s. The latest car featured in Jay Leno's Garage is a 1952 Ferrari 212 Barchetta that tells the very beginnings of that story.
This Prancing Horse was a gift to Ford from Enzo when the two companies were first thinking about merging, according to the curator of the Petersen Automotive Museum. Ferrari really wanted to show off its best so instead of the 212's normal V12, this car was fitted with the larger 2.7-liter unit from a Ferrari 225. The car has been almost unaltered since then. It still wears its original paint, and it's tires date back to 1954.
The great thing about the Petersen is that unlike a lot of auto museums, the people there actually drive the cars and keep them in working order. Once on the road with Leno behind the wheel, this Ferrari really sings. Unfortunately, he can't open it up too much because the 60-year-old tires really hold things back. Scroll down to watch this amazing piece of automotive history and learn it's possible effect on the styling of the original Ford Thunderbird.
