1963 Ford Galaxie 500 Xl 6.4l Fastback on 2040-cars
Asheville, North Carolina, United States
You are bidding on a 1963 Ford Galaxie 500XL with a 390 High performance engine and a 3 speed manual transmission. I purchased this car from its original owner in 2010 and have upgraded the brakes with a 4 wheel power disc conversion. I also installed 20" coy wheels painted to match. The car has been lowered and sits perfect and drives straight with no wobble or chasing of the steering wheel. I had the car painted with all the interior and molding removed {Base and Clear coat PPG}. Hushmat was installed and new carpet was put in. The interior was in nice shape except for the drivers seat at the top is worn from getting in and out of car, but I did not recover. This car is absolutely rust free and in excellent shape. As you can see in the photos the fender badges are missing. I installed the drivers side today but didn't install the passengers because I didn't like the condition of them. The car is a three speed on the column with dual flowmaster exhaust. Pictures don't do this 63 justice. This was a nice garage kept car before I acquired it and is a head turner with very clean lines. I also had a under dash C/D Ipod radio installed so there is no cutting of the dash or holes. I have all the original wheels, hubcaps and brakes if someone wants to make it back to original. Please don't bid if you don't intend to pay. Feel free to ask any questions or come out and look. If you need any more pictures I can text whatever you need. 828-779-3172 TJ

2015 Ford F-150 configurator is ready to go to work
Thu, 25 Sep 2014Ford is inching towards the on-sale date for the eagerly anticipated, aluminum F-150 pickup. While we're preparing to drive the new truck (expect our take on it sooner rather than later), the best-seller has reached another, albeit more minor, milestone as its online configurator has officially been switched on.
We took to Ford's consumer website to mess about with it and see just how ridiculous of a truck we can build. Among the fun things we discovered were these two nuggets - the most expensive truck we could configure was not the top-end Platinum model, but instead the King Ranch, which rang up at $65,955. The other exciting discovery? The new truck would be available in a questionable shade called Blue Jeans (shown above with the optional contrasting Caribou paint). Yep, Blue Jeans.
You can head over to Ford's consumer page and build your very own aluminum F-150 now. Take a look.
