She is a beauty!!!!! LOL!!!!  Rare Vintage Gasser!!!!! This no reserve action is for a rusted out 1963 1/2 galaxie 500 2 door hard top fast back R code 427 425 horse power 4 speed rolling shell from Hawaii [ NO ENGINE OR TRANS] still has dash board and back seat and back door panels steering column with after market steering wheel and i think a quick rational standard steering box?  and front suspension with the police interceptor 3 inch wide drum brakes. Drivers side drum is shot with hole in it. See pictures. The back of the frame doesn't look bad from what i can see but the front core support member needs help or maybe can't be fixed but included is a front core support frame section that i cut out of a 1963 1/2 galaxie xl frame.                                                                                                                                                     I will also be installing the rear end and  regular rear springs from that same XL frame to make this a roller.  It wasn't till October that 427 cars got 31 spline axles and this one is a 28 spline so it  would be correct for 427 early cars which this one is.  It still has the door jam tag and cal tags attached and a clean Oregon title. It decodes as. Body= 63 B is 2 door fast back,Color = 1, Gold metallic or better known as champagne, Trim/interior = 95 is Red Red, Date is 12 C = March 12 1963, DSO is 71 = Las Angles, Axel  is 9= 4:11 gears, Trans is 5 = 4 speed trans. Vin # is 3J66R150606.  It also has a NHRA ?championship or national record holder sticker on the drivers side inter fender well. Most of the sticker is currently missing. It also has a Honolulu police sticker police saying this is a reconstructed car on the pass side front window. See pictures.                                                                             Also an alarm sticker. Did the car get stolen and had to be rebuilt. Or is this one of 12 gold light weight cars that got rebuilt with regular parts after it crashed??? I wish i knew the stories it could tell about those 411 gears and how many people say its tail lights at the end of the run???? It appears it might have ran with skinny tires on 15x7 us slot mags that i will have on the front of the car with newer 165 /15 tires that hold air. The wheels have patina like they lived there for 40 or more years.                                                                                                                                 Then there is the special seat belts that were only in the front but that say Superior ind model 985????? Were they race car  seat belts???Not included in sale!!!  And how many cars were ordered with 411 rear ends and for what use????? I wish it could talk and tell me stories!!!!  If any one knows what car it was please help me id it. It came back to the mainland to Portland Oregon and with its friend a light weight car that was thought to be Bonhams car that now houses the original engine trans and rear end out of this car. ? I think it might have some race history and if you know it does please help if not for the car but the people of Hawaii this could be a national treasure not junk!! License number AXX 191 aloha state.                                                                                                                                                                                                           Don't laugh to much! These cars are getting hard to find and people have been known to re body these and with all the proper drive train it is still a R code car in my book. ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING PLEASE!!!! What i think i am selling here besides its history is a rebuild able rolling frame with clear title and good vin tag and door jam id tags For a R code 427 425 hp car.  Please don't call and ask how much rust out it has!!! It has a LOT !!!!!!!!!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          I will help load for transportation purpose but don't want to be any more than 2 hours before charging an additional $25.00 per hour after that. Ford recalling select Taurus, Explorer and Lincoln MKS models over fuel tanks

Sun, 31 Mar 2013

Ford is recalling certain 2012 Taurus, 2013 Explorer and 2012 Lincoln MKS models over fuel tank concerns. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, vehicles built between July 19, 2011 and March 15, 2012 may have been built with fuel tanks that have a "marginally sealed seam" on the side. Those seams may not provide the strength necessary to protect the tank from rupture during a collision. They may also leak. The recall covers a total of 3,037 vehicles. NHTSA says that leaked fuel, in the presence of an ignition source, could easily cause a fire.
Dealers will inspect the tanks and replace them as need be free of charge. Owners can expect to be notified once the campaign begins on or around April 22, 2013. You can read the full NHTSA recall notice below for more information.

Ford recalling 390,000 cars over door latch woes

Fri, Apr 24 2015

Ford is recalling certain Fiesta, Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles due to faulty door latches, marking the latest in what seems to be a recurring issue for the Blue Oval. This is the third door latch recall from Ford in 2015, following a 213,000-unit recall in March and a 205,000-unit recall in January. This one, however, is significantly larger. A total of 390,000 units are affected, including Fusions and MKZs from model years 2013 and 2014, as well as Fiestas from model years 2012 to 2014. A "broken pawl spring tab" is the culprit, potentially keeping doors from latching shut. According to Ford, even if the door does shut, it could come open again without warning. The affected Fiestas were built between February 1, 2012 and May 31, 2013 at the Cuautitlan, Mexico factory. The Fusion and MKZ siblings, meanwhile, were screwed together at Hermosillo Assembly in Mexico between July 1, 2012 to May 31, 2013. Ford is aware of three minor reports of door malfunctions. In two cases, the door bounced back open, quite literally hitting drivers on their way out. In the third case, a door swung open of its own accord while a driver was attempting to park, hitting another vehicle. Ford will notify owners, who will need to report into dealers to have all four latches replaced. Scroll down for the official press release. Related Video: APR 24, 2015 | DEARBORN, MICH. FORD MOTOR COMPANY ISSUES SAFETY RECALL IN NORTH AMERICA FOR DOOR LATCH ISSUE ON FORD FIESTA AND FUSION, LINCOLN MKZ Ford Motor Company is issuing a safety recall for approximately 390,000 2012-2014 Ford Fiesta and 2013-2014 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles for a door latch issue. The door latch in these vehicles may experience a broken pawl spring tab, which typically results in a condition where the door will not latch. If a customer is then able to latch the door, there is potential the door may unlatch while driving, increasing the risk of injury. Ford is aware of two allegations of soreness resulting from an unlatched door bouncing back when the customer attempted to close it, and one accident allegation when an unlatched door swung open and struck an adjacent vehicle as the driver was pulling into a parking space. Affected vehicles include certain 2012-2014 Ford Fiesta vehicles built at Cuautitlan Assembly Plant, Feb.

This woman owns the first Ford Mustang sold in the US

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

As Ford celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Mustang with the unveiling of the all-new sixth-gen design, one Chicago women can lay claim to a piece of Mustang history. According to CBS Chicago, Gail Wise was the first person in the US to buy a Mustang in 1964, and she did so two days before the car was even unveiled to the public.
Wise, then a 22-year-old teacher, went into the Chicago Ford dealership wanting to buy a convertible, and a salesperson ushered her over to car covered by a tarp. That car was a baby blue Mustang convertible, which she still owns today - along with the documentation. After sitting for almost 30 years and undergoing a full restoration, the car now looks to be in original condition. The report says that this $3,400 purchase could be worth anywhere between $100,000 and $250,000. While this worked out well for Mrs. Wise, we wouldn't recommend anyone going into a dark, back room of a dealership hoping to get a jump on the purchase of a 2015 Mustang.
