2004 Ford Freestar Limited Mini Passenger Van 4-door 4.2l on 2040-cars
Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey, United States
Beautiful low mileage 2004 Ford Freestar Limited mini van. Van is in excellent shape with basically only typical wear and tear, knicks and small scratches. Only scratch that I admit is noticeable is on left rear trim moulding which is shown in a picture. Radio button labeling also shows wear which you will see in a picture but radio works perfect. Only known flaw with the vehicle is the left front cv joint makes the typical clicking noise on sharp left turns but causes no functionality issues so I never bothered repairing. It can be replaced if you choose as the joints are not very expensive and possibly even just lubed to stop the clicking. Van has been extremely well serviced over it's life. I was a service manager of a Ford dealer for 20 years and bought this on trade off my dealer with around 14,000 miles as the original owner decided he didn't want a mini van and bought a full size s.u.v. instead. I serviced and took care of everything on this van since I bought it in 2005 or so as my wife drove it with my kids!!! About 2 years ago I gave her a new car and took over using this van but I have now been given a company car so the van is just sitting unused and it's time to go. Van is fully loaded with just about every single option that was available back in 2004 on them. Sticker new was approximately $39,000.00 as it was the absolute top of the line in a wonderful color scheme. It really is a classy and attractive mini van. I had remote start installed as well as Ford's handsfree phone system that plays through the car speakers. The system was one of the first hands free systems when they starting making them for cars so it is admitedly basic and dors not download your phone book and if you want to save a number you have to go through several steps for every number you save. I basically used it to answer incoming calls and just hit call and announce the number I wanted it to dial. Basic as compared to new car systems but still better than wearing an ear piece and having to fiddle for the phone when driving. Basically next best thing to having a present age hands free factory phone system. Vehicle has never been in an accident nor even a fender bender or ding repair. Van is located mostly at my work and I try to keep it in the warehouse as you will see from the pictures. It can be viewed weekdays from 8-4 by just contacting me and letting me know you are coming. If you need to see it on a weekend or weeknight we can probably arrange something. I am also trying to sell it privately so I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime. I WILL NOT SHIP OR ARRANGE ANY TYPE OF SHIPPING WHATSOEVER. IT IS REGISTERED AND INSURED PRESENTLY SO IF YOU LIVE WITHIN 30 MILES OF ZIP 07004 I WILL DRIVE IT TO YOUR LOCATION BUT YOU WILL HAVE TO DRIVE ME BACK. PAYMENT OF $500.00 DUE WITHIN 48 HOURS OF AUCTIONS END BY DELIVERY OR PAYPAL (IF OVERNIGHTING CHECK IT MUST BE A CERTIFIED CHECK). PAYMENT IN FULL AND PICK UP WITHIN 7 DAYS OF AUCTIONS END. I DO NOT FINANCE AND WILL NOT TAKE INSTALLMENTS SO DON'T BOTHER ASKING. Please don't bid if you don't intend to buy you will be responsible for auction fees. Van is a wonderful vehicle and only reason it is going is because I no longer have a use for it with being given a company car. Vehicle is sold as is with no warranty. I know the van is excellent but I can not predict the future and it is what it is. My starting price for what this van costed and the condition it is in is a steal. You can't get anything new these days that is this type of vehicle for under 40K and this mini van with it's mileage probably has another decade plus of service in it. Happy bidding and any questions feel free to contact me.

Autoblog Podcast #327:
2018 Ford Expedition vs other big SUVs: How it compares on paper
Fri, Nov 10 2017With our Alex Kierstein rightly impressed in his first-drive review of the new 2018 Ford Expedition, we decided to dig a little deeper into the numbers, and we came up with the spreadsheet below to highlight how the new 2018 Expedition compares on paper to its main full-size SUV competitors: the 2018 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban (and therefore the 2018 GMC Yukon), 2018 Toyota Sequoia and 2018 Nissan Armada. We also threw in the new, even bigger 2018 Chevrolet Traverse since, as you'll see, its massive dimensions should put it on the radar for anyone who needs loads of passenger and cargo space but doesn't care as much about towing. A few notes about the chart above. First, the 6.2-liter V8 that's included with the new-for-2018 Tahoe RST trim level is the standard engine on the GMC Yukon Denali. You can apply most of the Tahoe's numbers to the entire Yukon and Yukon XL lineup. Second, though we highlighted categories where the Traverse led, we also highlighted the runner-up full-size SUV, since this was ultimately about that segment. Traverse numbers are broadly applicable to the new Buick Enclave. 2015 Ford F-Series Super Duty Power Stroke
Tue, 29 Jul 2014What weighs 30,000 pounds? Big Ben's Westminster bell. A navy ship anchor. Or as we found out during our first drive program for the 2015 Ford F-Series Super Duty, seven pallets of cinder blocks loaded onto a dual-axle gooseneck trailer. The test was part of a raft of towing demonstrations that showcased the new Super Duty's impressive tug capacity, which maxes out at 32,100 pounds. That's 1,200 more than its nearest rival, the Ram 3500, when equipped with its upgraded 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel V8. Such is the heavy-duty pickup truck business, a diesel-fueled game of one-upmanship with only three players: Ford, Chevrolet/GMC and Ram. And in this game, the one with the most torque wins.
Until 2014, Ford was the one to beat, with its 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel bringing 400 hp and a massive 800 lb-ft of torque to the table. Then last year, Ram did exactly that, serving Ford with a beefed-up Cummins turbodiesel inline-six in its freshened Ram Heavy Duty truck line with 385 hp and 850 lb-ft of torque, enabling it to tow up to 30,000 pounds. But Ford claims it had designed its engine to be relatively easy to upgrade when the time called for it, so for 2015, Ford bolted a larger turbo to the Power Stroke, bringing output to an insane 440 hp and 860 lb-ft of twist, all without reducing fuel efficiency. Maximum tow capacity rises from 24,700 lbs to an incredible 31,200 lbs for the F-450 dually.
As for GM's HDs? They lag behind the lot with their 6.6-liter Duramax V-8, producing 397 hp and 765 lb-ft of torque. Yeah, you know things are serious when the trucks with 765 lb-ft are the knock-kneed wimps of the lot.
