this 63 falcon is the best quality I have seen, it is reported to be 22k actual miles, spending many years in storage, in calif, and indiana, and tulsa, ok, where I purchased it. I have no way to document the mileage. just saying what the previous owner said. he was suppose to know the history. have some paper work from the sixties, but nothing with mileage, except when car was purchased. the car runs and drives , and stops great. everything works, the motor is a 170 special, and fordamatic trans. ,all the heater control knobs that you pull for defrost, and heat, that on most cars, are hard to pull, or locked up, these work as should, all knobs are either new, or mint originals, including the tran lever knob. the parts that are new are fuel pump, and he gave me the original with the ford tag, new gas tank and sender, (not the cheap china one).fuel lines, carb kit. new springs all the way around, leafs and coil, new brakes, wheel cyls, lines, and master cyl. still has the generator, and he gave me another one, suppose to be the original, he put on new shocks, the ones that came off were the original ford ones. new door panels, front and rear, (sure are shiny with all the chrome inserts) new carpet, not sure if trunk pad is new or original, but looks new. new convt boot, still have the box. the dash paint is black and shiny, as new. the windows are all in good condition, roll up and down. the top is new, just been down maybe 3 times. I just purchased off ebay a set of the wire spinners, that were optional to this car, they are an excellent set, paid almost 400$ to get them here. (the pic I took was off center, my camera the screen is out) but the spinners are as new also. the bumpers, you can tell the chrome is getting thin, but they still wax up nice, and are straight, with no dings.some of the other chrome has a patina to it, but no pitting, except the fender spears has some. this car was original with back up lights, and I have the set of lenses that were on it, with the back up lights, the previous owner liked the others better.the paint on this car is shiny, and has no door dings, or scratches, this car is rust free, never had any, the paint is so good, that I drive it weekly, and keep it in storage, suppose to have never seen rain in 40 years. when I go somewhere, park it as far away as possible, so no door dents. it really is as new paint job. I have a few extra parts that go with it. going to take it next week for a under hood detail, all is clean and neet under there, just needs new stickers, which I bought, and maybe new paint on the air cleaner. the tires look like new, but suspect they are older, although no weather checking on them, this is a 4 lug 13" wheels, almost forgot, it does have a power top that works right. I have the original radio, he put this one in, has a good look and is fm, he also put in a new speaker, plus new kick panels with a speaker built in each, so you can hear the tunes with the top down, their is a cig burn in the drivers seat, from many years ago, I may have a person to put in a new panel, if needed, probably forgot a lot, send me questions, need a 500.00 deposit within 48 hours, and the balance in 7 days

Reflecting on the Ford GT on its 10-year anniversary
Thu, 10 Apr 2014Ten years ago, during the bright-eyed enthusiasm of the early 2000s and before the collective automotive industry did its best Titanic impression, we had the Ford GT. An everyman's supercar like there'd never been (remember, this was before 638-horsepower Corvettes were a thing), the GT arrived with a supercharged, 5.4-liter V8 that produced 550 horsepower and graced this retro-styled rocket with an easy, sub-four-second sprint to 60 miles per hour.
Equal to the GT's performance were its looks. Inspired by the GT40 racers that dominated Le Mans and bested Ferrari in the 1960s, the sleek, low, almost-reptilian look of the GT was the absolute pinnacle of the retro styling that so defined the early 2000s.
Crank and Piston put together a video celebrating the ten-year-old GT, arguing that Ford is a bit too busy with the next-gen Mustang, which turns 50 next week, to do it themselves. In the short clip, there is gratuitous engine noise and supercharger whine, not to mention scenes of the white-on-red GT prowling the deserts and streets of Dubai. It's a bit short, but very nicely shot. Scroll down, have a look and be sure to turn up those speakers before getting started.
Ford dealer loses Super Bowl bet, pays $300K to lucky customers [w/video]
Tue, 11 Feb 2014A Missouri Ford dealership's Super Bowl weekend sale cost it big when the improbable happened. Hutcheson Ford ran a promotion from January 29 to February 1, called the Super Weekend Sale. The gist was, if any customer purchased a vehicle between those dates and either the opening or second-half kickoff of the big game was returned for a touchdown, the dealership would refund the purchase price.
In the dealership's defense, it seemed like a safe bet. According to the mathematicians, there was just a 2.5-percent chance of either half opening with a touchdown return. But that didn't stop Seattle's Percy Harvin from doing his part to ruin Denver's evening, returning the second-half kick for an 87-yard touchdown run. Twelve Hutcheson customers were eligible for refunds thanks to the return, with prices ranging from $10,000 to $55,000, according to Automotive News. The total amount shelled out by the dealership? $300,000.
"At least we're not like that furniture guy that lost $7 million," dealership marketing manager Kathleen Frazier told AN. We think it was a big success." The dealership did take out insurance to cover its losses, meaning the $300K won't come entirely from its pockets.
Pickup prices rising at 2x industry average
Tue, 11 Jun 2013We've said it before, but bears repeating: Pickup trucks are the financial engines of America's automakers. Good thing, then, that the segment is in rude health - in fact, Automotive News is suggesting that pickup truck sales are arguably healthier than they were pre-recession, even though the segment's volume is still significantly down from where it was before the bottom fell out of the US economy. That's because per-unit profits on full-size trucks are skyrocketing, outpacing the industry's average price increases by more than double since 2005. According to data from Edmunds, the average transaction price of a full-size pickup is now $39,915 - a heady increase over the $31,059 average price in 2005 - a gain of over 8 percent after inflation is factored in.
Just how important are trucks to automakers' bottom lines? Automotive News quotes a Morgan Stanley analyst as saying the Ford F-Series is responsible for 90 percent of the company's 2012 profits, and General Motors isn't far behind, with the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra twins chipping in about two-thirds of the automaker's earnings.
Automotive News points out that Detroit's automakers now have the money to invest in modernizing their full-size truck offerings, in part because they don't have the same overhead and legacy costs that pushed General Motors and Chrysler into bankruptcy. Certainly, the pickup segment has seen a lot of innovations as of late, including turbocharged V6s, coil-spring rear suspensions and active aero. Those improvements in important areas like fuel economy and ride comfort have given existing pickup buyers new reasons to upgrade. In addition, automakers are piling on the tech and luxury goodies, creating more and more high-content, high-profit models like the Ford F-150 King Ranch, Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn and Chevrolet Silverado High Country (shown).
