This car has been sitting in the dry for several years. Factory 4 speed original car. The paint appears to be original, no overspray in any areas. Clutch was stuck and disc had broken. I installed new battery, new clutch and pressure plate with throwout bearing. Flywheel was resurfaced during this repair. Fuel tank has been replaced, I installed new 600 Holley, with manual choke, original Holley had old fuel. The car cranks and runs good, no smoke, the engine was rebuilt 15,000 miles ago. Interior looks good no tears or rips, dash center cover has been cut for Pioneer stereo, just the cover, those are available. Tires are worn and cracked but hold air, Magnum wheels, drum brakes on front were rebuilt, rear passenger brake shows signs of fluid. Hand brake cable has been replaced but is not adjusted. I have run the engine up to temperature with no problems. Factory guages do not appear to work, maybe a fuse, no signs of wiring burnt. Headlights and brake/running lights work. The car has headers installed, collector gaskets leak. Air shocks will leak down, pictures were taken today with no air in shocks. Southern Georgia car with no major rust issues, one small area in trunk floor. Engine has later electronic ignition, I don't think this was factory. Drivers side vent window hinge is broken, replacement goes with the car. I have supplied as many pictures as I can for you to examine this car but please ask questions if you have them. This car is a perfect restoration project or with new tires can be a driver as is. I will advertise the car locally so I reserve the right to stop the auction if the car brings a good price locally. The car is in NC and comes with a clear Georgia bill of sale as they did not offer titles in 1965. This is a no-reserve auction so bid only if you want the car. Buyer must have a good Ebay rating or I will cancel your bid. Buyer must have a PayPal account and deposit $500.00 immediately at auction end. Buyer must also make arrangements for pick-up or shipping within 1 week of auction end.

UK's Loughborough University improving Ford's 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine
Wed, May 21 2014How much does it cost for college students to study zero emissions vehicles? At Loughborough University in the UK, a new Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC) is being built at a cost of a billion pounds ($1.7 billion US). The school has just announce that it will fund a number of grad student positions and is creating a new Chair in Advanced Propulsion Systems, which sounds like a fun job to us. We're weird like that. There will be a total of four professor-type positions in the new Center, including the chair, all focused on teaching students about low-carbon vehicle technologies, specifically electric and hybrid ones. The school is investing 1.5 million pounds ($2.5 million) for the new positions. There is a bigger picture as well, a 26-million pound ($44 million) Advanced Combustion Turbocharged Integrated Variable-valvetrain Engine (ACTIVE) project, which uses funds not only from the school but also from Ford and others. The point of ACTIVE is to study Ford's 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine and "improve further its efficiency and ensure it exceeds 2020 emission regulations." This is already a popular engine for the automaker, and it will need to stay at the bleeding edge of efficiency to remain as important in 2020 as it is today. Loughborough University has been working with automakers on advanced energy technologies for years, for example with Rolls-Royce and fuel cells in 2007 and the Lotus Hotfire engine in 2008. University invests GBP1.5M in advanced propulsion research to advance zero emissions vehicles challenge Loughborough University is investing GBP1.5M over five years in strategic research appointments, inspired by the global challenge to develop the new advanced propulsion technologies required for the move to zero emission vehicles. These appointments reinforce the University's world-class research in low-carbon vehicle technologies, adding new dimensions concerned with electric and hybrid drives. Four appointments will be made, including a Chair in Advanced Propulsion Systems, supported by a number of PhD studentships. The GBP1.5M investment is part of the University's commitment to the recently announced Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC) to support the development of new supply chains for low carbon vehicles. APC is an initiative established by the Automotive Council that will see GBP1 billion of investment from government and industry over the next 10 years.
2015 Ford Mustang option prices gallop onto the web
Tue, 22 Apr 2014The 2015 Ford Mustang is one of the most anticipated cars of the year, despite the fact that production hasn't yet begun. What's a pony car fan to do? It turns out that Ford already has pricing and options information about the vehicle in its dealer ordering system. A few enterprising folks have snapped some pictures from it and have posted them online. You might not be able to drive your car yet, but you can at least see what it might cost.
At the moment, Ford appears to be splitting the Mustang into five models - 3.7-liter V6, 2.3-liter EcoBoost, GT with the 5.0-liter V8, 50th Anniversary and SVT. There are 10 available paint colors, 2 of which require an extra outlay. Triple Yellow is $495, and Ruby Red Tint is $395. Regardless of model, navigation goes for $795, and reverse parking assist is $295.
For both the EcoBoost and GT, the six-speed automatic tacks an extra $1,195 to the sticker, and adaptive cruise control is the same price. The GT also has a limited-slip 3.55 rear end for $395 and a GT Performance package for $2,495. Recaro leather seats add an extra $1,595. For the EcoBoost, there's something called EcoBoost Performance package for $1,995. The system doesn't say what the packages include.
