For sale1963 Ford Falcon 2 door hardtop.  Currently has the original 260 v8 2 speed auto. The dash has been replaced. The original was butchered up.  I started to replace the floor pans. The passenger side is tacked in. I have the driver’s side but it is not installed.  The driver’s side torque box needs work. It also has a couple other rust areas that need attention. The trunk needs a little work. The passenger side frame has a small spot that needs work.

Over the past years I have been buying parts to fix the car up. I’ll try to list the new parts:

Noisy gear-driven timing gears, Edelbrock Signature series value covers, Edelbrock oil breather cap, chrome oil pan, chrome engine bolt set, chrome coil bracket, chrome alternator brackets, chrome water pump pulley, chrome harmonic balancer pulley, chrome distributer hold-down clamp and bolt, battery tray and hold down clamp. Also have a set of ceramic coated Y-tube headers that fit 1964 -70 mustang. I was told that the mustang was built on the falcon chaise. Thought they might fit.

New kick panels, new interior dome light, new knobs for the dash, new heater plenum,

new heater seal kit for rebuilding heater box, new blower motor, new dual reservoir master cylinder (as the car has disk brakes from a Ford Granada) ,new tie rod ends, new door jamb dome lamp switches, new trunk weather stripping, new door weather stripping, a spare set of tail lights.

Used parts: Mallory dual point distributor which needs some parts, chrome dual carburetor intake with Edelbrock air breather.

Car has on it at this time an Edelbrock 1404. Car does run. I have purchased another 1404 that I believe needs rebuilt. I have also purchased front and rear red arm rests. Also have a 289 5-bolt motor with another 2-speed automatic. This motor is stuck. I believe it can be rebuilt.

Some of these items are already installed on the car.

Ford worker files for UAW dues refund, stirs right-to-work debate

Sun, 24 Aug 2014

Let's start with some history: Ford's Dearborn truck plant, part of the company's massive River Rouge complex, was the center of a strike in 1941 that led to Ford signing the first "closed shop" agreement in the industry. The agreement obliged every worker at the plant to be a dues-paying member of the United Auto Workers. In December 2012, however, Michigan Governor Rick Snyder signed legislation making Michigan a right-to-work state, which outlawed closed shops. The new law gave workers the right to opt out of union membership and stop paying dues even if they were still covered by union activities like collective bargaining. For employees at the Dearborn plant, the right-to-work clauses take effect at the end of their current contract in 2015.
As a tool-and-die maker at Ford's Dearborn plant for 16 years, Todd Lemire pays dues to the UAW - about two hours' salary per month. However, he's been unhappy with the UAW's support of the Democratic party, and not wanting to wait until next year to be out of the UAW entirely he invoked his Beck Rights, which state that a non-member of a union does not have to pay dues to support non-core activities, such as political spending. But Lemire wasn't happy that Ford still subtracted the total amount of dues, with the UAW reimbursing the difference, so he filed suit with the National Labor Relations Board, feeling that the workaround violates his rights.
Lemire's case is just a week old, so it could be a while before a resolution. Yet, as September 15, 2015 draws near and the right-to-work laws take full effect for Michigan workers - and others wonder whether it could help revitalize the state's manufacturing base - a case like this adds more fuel to the discussion.

Detroit Three autoworkers could get huge bonuses

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

For a long time, being a line worker for one of the Detroit Three has meant living with an uncertain future. With the health of American automakers on the rise, though, things are also starting to look up for the men and women building the cars. The latest sign that things aren't bad? Big profit-sharing checks.
According to The Detroit News, Ford, General Motors and Chrysler could end up paying over $800 million to 130,000 workers as part of a profit-sharing plan. According to The News, the economic impact of these profits in Michigan alone could exceed $400 million, besting the NFL's Super Bowl, MLB's All-Star Game and the NHL's Winter Classic for their economic impact.
This is the third straight year the Detroit Three have issued profit-sharing checks to UAW employees, and for many workers, the checks are as close as they'll get to a raise, due to the most recent contract between the union and the manufacturers. On average, employees at GM and Ford receive $1 for every $1 million in North American (not just the US) pre-tax profits. Chrysler, meanwhile, gets a similar deal, although the Auburn Hills-based company calculates profit sharing using 85 percent of the brand's global profits.

Google's new Android Autos OS unveiled, will be in cars this year [w/video]

Wed, 25 Jun 2014

Connected cars are coming en-masse. We know this much. How, though, remains something of an open question, especially as two of the world's largest tech companies are preparing to battle for control of your car's dashboard. On the one hand, we have Apple and its CarPlay system. And now, we know what Google has been working on with Auto Link.
Its new name is Android Auto, and yes, it's based off the Android architecture that is the primary challenger to Apple's iOS mobile operating system. Announced at Google's I/O conference today, Android Auto functions similarly to CarPlay - owners will need to plug their smartphones into their cars to access the full breadth of capability.
In Android Auto's case, that means a wealth of voice controls to limit distracted driving. Google's marquee apps will be available when the interface arrives in production models later this year, including Google Play Music, Google Maps and voice-activated texting and text playback. Meanwhile, developers will be able to begin designing custom apps for the new system via an upcoming software development kit.
