 1962 Ford Falcon with Indy car engine

 The engine is a complete story in itself. Ford designed this engine in1965 and ran it several years at the Brickyard. Ford was able to win several times with these motors. Some time after the fact they sold the whole operation to A. J. Foyt, and this extremely rare 1965 Ford 4 cam Indy car engine was sold to Builder (Ken Thompson). There is probably more engineering in this car than in 10 normal cars. Ken built this car in its entirety and there is a reason for every single part on the car. With his background in Racing and growing up in NASCAR country Ken has a very unique skill set in fabrication and has been building parts for Holman Moody Racing for the past 18 years.  So when he built this car he envisioned nothing less than a full, NASCAR- like construction with top-of-the-line parts. He wanted to go very fast but still be completely tractable on the street. The Interior of the car is completely stripped down to the bare component’s seats, dash, gauges, steering wheel, start switches, rearview mirror, shifter and don’t forget the custom built roll cage. The engine bay is tuxedo sharp, crisp, angular lines surrounding the brutally serious Indy small-block Ford. The quad-cam Ford defies conventional engine layout by positioning the intake manifold between the camshafts and has the exhaust exiting to the inside of the cylinder heads. The beautifully hand-crafted stainless steel exhaust runners snake their way forward, merging into a custom 8-1 collector which is in turn bolted to an enormous Turbinate’s GTK 1000 turbo.. The craftsmanship on this car is amazing and all of the parts together transform into one of the fastest hand built street legal cars ever. Builder claims it is capable of 11,000+rpm and 250mph. Next Ford Raptor spotted wearing aluminum skin

Well, look at what we have here. Judging from these spy shots, Ford is indeed working on the next generation of its off-road-ready F-150 Raptor pickup truck. We've made no attempt to hide our appreciation for the Baja-style truck, which combines most of the usability of a fullsize truck with heavy-duty suspension components to make a kind of performance vehicle that is unique in the market.
What we haven't known, until now, is whether Ford would push forward with its Raptor program now that it has a completely new F-150 to serve as its base. And that's especially true since Ford made the bold move of switching the bodywork of its best-seller from tried-and-true steel to aluminum. As you can see above, the front and rear of this silver truck are clad in current-gen Raptor bodywork, while the center section that houses the occupants appears to come from the upcoming 2015 F-150.
Dissecting the views above, we note a few interesting tidbits. First, there looks to be a bulge in the truck's hood. Second, we see a new grille between the current Raptor's headlights, sporting a mesh finish and two horizontal bars. Lastly, our eyes can't help but lock in on those burly A-arm suspension pieces down below, not to mention all that ground clearance the specialty suspenders bring to the table.

No one's going to confuse the massively popular Ford F-150 pickup truck with a green vehicle, but at least it performs well in an environmental sense when compared to its brethren. The Automotive Science Group (ASG) took on the odd (to us, at least) task of measuring which pickup trucks are friendliest to the environment and found that the big seller in the Blue Oval's flagship F-series came up big, while the Toyota Tacoma came up, well, slightly smaller. That's a good thing. Among the 245 light-duty trucks that ASG studied, the 3.7-liter V6-powered F-150 won ASG's award for full-size trucks for both regular and crew cabs. Meanwhile, the 2.7-liter Toyota Tacoma, with its fuel-economy rating of 23 miles per gallon combined, had smallest overall life-cycle carbon footprint and won ASG's two mid-sized categories. Finally, the Chevrolet Silverado won best all-around performance in the full-size extended-cab category. The ASG factored in eco-friendliness, price and social performance (which is measured by, "considering the rights of those charged with vehicle manufacture and assembly") to come up with its findings. Sales of Ford's F-Series trucks rose 8.4 percent last year to 74,592 units and accounted for more than a third of the total 2013 sales of Ford and its Lincoln unit.
