I'm selling my restored 1969 Ford Falcon. It's been a great car for me over the last year and a half, but I need something a little more fuel efficient. We've basically replaced everything in the car aesthetically and mechanically. This includes: -New polyurethane paint job with original color -Rebuilt engine with less than 5,000 miles on it since the rebuild -Reupholstered seats to match original seats -New carpet to match original flooring -New headliner to match original headliner -New stereo with Aux input and radio. The stereo face looks just like the original radio that was in the car. -New harmonic balancer -New alternator -New high performance radiator -New tires put on it a few months ago with probably a little over 80% of its life left on it -New battery put in it yesterday -New brake shoes put on about 1,000 miles ago -New brake lines It's still not perfect. The bumpers need to be re-chromed and some metal parts in the interior need to be repainted, but I have the paint for the interior if you want it. Other than that, just about everything is restored. It's been my daily driver for a little over a year now and it's been very reliable ever since we got everything fixed on it. It still has under 100,000 original miles on it. It's at 96,500 right now, but it is my daily driver so that number will slowly increase. This car is perfect for anyone looking for their first classic car. Parts are very easy to come by because they are interchangeable with Mustang parts. It also gets pretty good gas mileage for how old it is. The 3.3L Inline 6 engine has been getting me right around 18-20 mpg when I drive conservatively. It's also a great attention grabber. Every time I drive this car, I always have somebody compliment it. So if you're looking for a reliable and good looking classic car, this is the car for you! |

Ford to announce Mulally retirement, Fields CEO as early as May 1
Mon, 21 Apr 2014Ford CEO Alan Mulally may be about to announce his long-rumored retirement from the Blue Oval, according to a pair of insiders who spoke to Bloomberg. An official statement on the succession could arrive as soon as May 1. Chief Operating Officer Mark Fields is rumored to step up as the new CEO. The company is said to be readying the announcement soon to ensure an orderly transition of power, according to the insiders.
Mulally's retirement from Ford has been a hot topic for a while. He was seriously rumored last year to be leaving the automaker to take over as the CEO of Microsoft. The board even said at one point that it was okay with them if he stepped down early. However, the CEO maintained he would stay with the business through at least the end of 2014. Fields has been rumored as a frontrunner to take over the top spot at the company since he was promoted to COO.
For the moment, Ford isn't officially confirming any of these plans. "We don't comment on speculation. We do have succession plans in place for our key leadership. We take succession planning very seriously," said Susan Krusel, Ford Global News Manager, to Autoblog.
Ford EcoBoost smashes records at Daytona
Thu, 10 Oct 2013Some mighty machines have lapped the banks of the Daytona International Speedway over the years: thunderous V8-powered stock cars, Le Mans-conquering Group C prototypes, open-wheel Champ Cars, knee-dragging superbikes... heck, the infield lake has even hosted powerboat racing. But this - this is the fastest car ever to lap the legendary raceway.
What you're looking at is the new Daytona Prototype being prepared by Riley Technologies for the new United SportsCar Championship. The car, released just last week, is powered by a new 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 from Ford's EcoBoost family, and just obliterated the top speed at the track with a blistering 222.971 miles per hour through the traps.
That's enough to annihilate the previous record that was set, also under Ford power, by Bill Elliott while placing his Thunderbird on pole for the 1987 Daytona 500 that he would go on to win. His 210.364 mph record had stood for 26 years until now.
Ford files trademark application for 'Model E'
Fri, 27 Dec 2013In early December, Ford filed an application with the US Patent and Trademark Office for the name "Model E." Historically, Ford never produced a Model E, and while automakers are known to file for trademarks they never use, some have wondered if the application might be used for a concept car.
Based on other recent events, though, it could be a legal move. In 2000 Ford sued an online start-up called Model E over the similarity of that name to Ford's industry-shaping Model T, but the judge dismissed the case citing lack of proper grounds. In August 2013, Tesla applied for trademark registration for Model E, and at the time, Ford said it would review the application. Tesla actually made two applications for Model E, one for automobiles and structural parts therefore, the other for "providing maintenance and repair services for automobiles," and there are plenty of theories about what the name could be applied to.
The Published for Opposition date for Tesla's applications is December 31, 2013, after which anyone who thinks they'd be harmed by Tesla being granted the trademark gets 30 days to register their issues. This is just speculation, but Ford's application - which was filed for automobiles only - might be about protecting what it sees as unwelcome encroachment on the name Model T, protection it wasn't able to enforce before when the stakes were only online and much smaller.
