1968 Ford Falcon Sport Coupe on 2040-cars
Bel Alton, Maryland, United States
This is a 1968 Falcon Sport Coupe. The cars original suspension has been removed and replaced by a mustang II font end with coil over shocks and sway bar with rack and pinion steering. The rear leaf springs have been removed and replaced by a pro ladder bar suspension with coil over shocks and adjustable ride height as well as a track bar. The fuel tank has been removed and a 12 gallon fuel cell installed in the trunk. The battery has also been relocated to the trunk. The wiring harness has been replaced by a kwik harness. The original motor and trans were replaced by a 429 built motor and a C6 built trans with a 2500 stall converter. This motor puts out right at 590hp to the flywheel. It has a comp cam and valve train, electric water pump, Weiand intake, demon 850 carb, HEI distributor with Taylor wires, and Sanderson headers. The fuel system is 6AN stainless line from the holley electric pump to the carburetor. The exhaust is flowmaster. The drive shaft is custom built as well and hooks to a 9" rear with a nascar 410 diff. The brakes are aluminum 4 wheel disc SSBC calipers and slotted rotors with power brakes. The emergency brake (Lokar) has been relocated to the center hump between the seats. The shifter has been relocated to the floor and is a B&M slap shifter. The dash has been fiberglassed and 3 gauges added to the center of it. All gauges are autometer. The interior is all new reupholstered seats and side panels. There is a new headliner too. The carpet and kick panels are new. That is the good. Now the not so good. The brake lines will need to be replaced due to contamination. I do have all new stainless lines that go with it. The emergency brake works but needs adjustment. There is some rust under the front cowl where the air ducts were. The wiper components have been removed. The body is in descent shape for its age with a little rust. Most of the rust is around the trunk where the seal goes. The back roll pan also has some rust where the rear bumper goes. The hood is fiberglass and needs hinges or hood locks to mount it. The dash will need a little more fiberglass work to the finish to complete it. The engine runs great, but the carb needs to be rebuilt. The trans shifts great. The rear axle splines and bearings are all new. The floor pans have been replaced and painted with POR15. There is a set of front 5 point DOT seat belts that will need to be installed. I love this car, but my financial state is forcing me to sale it. I have over 15k invested in this car. These vehicles are very hard to find. The only part missing is the rear bumper. I have more pictures if needed.

Transit Courier completes Ford's new commercial van line, will we get it?
Sat, 13 Apr 2013This week Ford rolled out the 2014 Transit Courier, the fourth addition to its Transit range. Ford says its the first time for the nameplate in the compact van segment.
"Ford has now completely transformed its commercial vehicle line-up, with four all-new, class-leading Transits for European customers," said Barb Samardzich, vice president of product development for Ford Europe. "With the all-new Transit range, we expect sales to grow to 400,000 units per year by 2016, well over 50 percent more than we sell today."
When the Courier goes on sale in the Spring of 2014, it will offer more than 1,400 pounds of payload capacity, multiple mounting points for racks or other framework and a rear cargo area that can carry items 5.3 feet-long. An optional folding passenger seat boosts the cargo length to 8.5 feet.
Ford Australia launches Falcon GT F 351, last of its line [w/video]
Sun, 15 Jun 2014It's always best to go out with a bang rather than a whimper, and Ford Performance Vehicles is doing just that in Australia with the Falcon GT F 351. It's the most powerful road car the Aussie performance brand has ever made with a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 pumping out 471 horsepower (351 kilowatts) and 420 pound-feet of torque. It's joined by the FPV Pursuit Ute with the same powerplant tuned to 422 hp and 402 lb-ft. Sadly, the last F in this Falcon's name stands for Final.
The GT F 351 is a monumental way to go out, though. It harkens back to the old days of Aussie muscle Fords, and the 351kw output is meant to reference the classic Falcon GT and its 351-cubic-inch V8. In addition to the massive power, the F has the improved suspension from the R-Spec model and Brembo brake calipers.
FPV is building just 500 GT F sedans for Australia and 50 more for New Zealand, plus 120 Pursuit Utes. They feature a blacked-out hood and black stripes over the hood and sides, plus gloss black accents around the headlights, door handles and mirrors.
Who sold the most heavy-duty pickups in 2012? PickupTrucks.com investigates
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Domestic manufacturers enjoyed a good year for heavy-duty pickup sales in 2012. PickupTrucks.com has taken a close look at exactly how those sales broke down between each manufacturer and between three-quarter and one-ton pickups. Ford sold some 67,786 F-250 Super Duty models last year with the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD falling just behind at 56,359 units. The Ram 2500 HD came in third at 41,918, while the GMC Sierra 2500 HD earned itself fourth place with 27,616 deliveries. While Ford held onto the top spot in the one-ton market, Ram easily nailed down second place by selling more 3500 HD models last year than General Motors sold Silverado 3500 HD and Sierra 3500 HD trucks combined.
So, did GM manage to sell more trucks than Ford with its two brands? Very nearly. Ford sold a total of 119,338 heavy-duty pickups to GM's 111,555. Ram, meanwhile, moved a distant 77,583. But perhaps more interesting is the diesel take rate in this segment. PickupTrucks.com says 80 percent of all domestic one-ton trucks roll from the dealer lot with a turbo-diesel under the hood. Head over to the site for a closer look at the breakdown.
