1968 Ford Falcon 4 Door Sedan Running Project Car on 2040-cars

Year:1968 Mileage:99999
Location:

Clovis, California, United States

Clovis, California, United States

I have for sale my 1968 Ford Falcon 4 door sedan PROJECT CAR. Please read the following description:

Mechanics: this Falcon is powered by an in-line six cylinder. Not sure if it’s a 200 or 250 cu in. Has a 3 speed manual transmission that has had the shifter moved from the column to the floor. The engine seems to run very smooth. Starts, idles and sounds good. Clutch works fine without slipping, but does occasionally have a throw-out bearing noise. Brakes work OK but should be gone thru. Parking brake works well. Has a new alternator. Has a universal ignition switch with “start button”. The shifter is finicky , takes some getting used to, but all forward and reverse gears work fine with no irregular noises.  Has glasspack exhaust. No power steering or brakes

Body: Very solid and dry body. Has a few minor dents, but never wrecked. No rust (other than surface where paint is this) or rot. There is a small rust hole in floorboard on passenger side, and some surface rust (no hole) on driver side floorboard. (see pic) Previous owner removed trunk lock and installed remote cable in interior.

Suspension: Previous owner lowered front end(cutting springs). Car drives pretty good but have not driven any distance

Wheels and tires: Has original 4 lug 14” wheels with OK tires

Interior: is ROUGH. Rear seat original and present but needs redone. Front seats out of different car. In trunk are headliner bows, some door panels(to use as templates) and some interior trim pieces. There is no dash pad.

Glass: all glass is present. Windshield is not cracked, but has wiper scratches.

Electrical. All lights work.

Conclusion: This is a project car. It is solid and a good starting point for a fairly rare car. Being rare does not necessarily make it valuable, but you sure don’t see these very often. I have the clean clear title and the car is currently registered in Calif.

If you are seriously interested in my Falcon please feel free to email or give me a phone call with any questions you may have. You can reach me at

Car is located in Clovis, California zip 93611 near Fresno

I require a $300 nonrefundable deposit and balance must be paid within seven

days

Car is sold as is- where is , any and all shipping costs are the responsibility of the new owner.

I am listing this car at no reserve with what I feel is a very reasonable starting bid. I want to sell this car. If you would like to make an offer, I would be willing to add a buy it now price.

NHTSA investigating Ford Fiesta for faulty door latches

Mon, 15 Sep 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened a preliminary investigation on the 2011-2013 Ford Fiesta because the regulator has received 61 complaints from drivers, including one claim of an injury, about the doors on the subcompacts failing to latch and sometimes even flying open while driving. NHTSA has estimated that the problem could affect as many as 205,000 vehicles.
NHTSA is still gathering further data about the problem, but looking at the complaints so far, both front and rear doors appear to be potentially involved with the alleged failures. Among the reports, there are 12 claiming that the door opened while driving. Several also indicate the "Door Ajar" warning illuminating during this problem. The one purported injury happened when someone attempted to shut the door, and it bounced back.
Ford spokesperson Kelli Felker told Autoblog via email, "We are cooperating with NHTSA on this investigation, as we always do." Scroll down to read the report from NHTSA.

Ford Fusion production scaled back just 3 months after it was accelerated

Mon, 02 Dec 2013

Three months after kicking off production of the Ford Fusion at its Flat Rock, MI factory, Ford Motor Company is taking steps to trim output in the face of heavily discounted competition from Toyota and a growing supply of vehicles.
The addition of Fusion production in Flat Rock - which also builds the Mustang - was meant to be what pushed the handsome mid-sizer past its arch-nemesis, the Toyota Camry. An extra facility building Fusions was also meant to curb the growing demand for Ford's highly profitable sedan.
But with word that Flat Rock would take "approximately" one extra week off for the holidays combined with an 88-day supply of Fusions - reportedly due in no small part to what Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas called "aggressive discounting of the Camry" - some analysts are now beginning to wonder if Ford may have overextended itself by adding a second Fusion facility to the mix.
