1965 Ford Falcon Futura 302 No Rust Straight Car on 2040-cars
Siletz, Oregon, United States
1965 Ford Falcon Futura. This is a straight Falcon purchased in Reno, NV. Dave was told by previous owner that it was the owner of circus-circus's car originally (no documentation though), and that he's the third owner. I believe this car has been garaged its whole life. I can say with certainty that it's been garaged the last 8 years.Dave built this car for speed, and was only allowed one pass at the Woodburn Oregon drag strip. It ran in the 10's and was told to get it back on the trailer until I put a roll cage in.
OK, Let's start with the engine. It has a 302 bored .30 over, trick flow iron heads, headers, 9 qt. Moroso oil pan, Weiand dual plane manifold, holley 650 cfm carb, Mallory distributor and wires, Earls fittings, hoses, and filter, x-system exhaust with supertrapps, driveshaft loop, three speed automatic transmission with B&M ratchet shifter, 4.56 gears with limited slip, and an eight inch rear end.It has heavy duty springs, traction bars, and battery mounted in trunk. The interior has stock headliner and rear seat in good shape for age. The front is two racing bucket seats with 4 pt. harness. It has after market guages mounted underneath the dash (check pics) no radio installed The exterior is rust free, and the body is pretty straight. (Once again, check pics) We tried to point out little flaws, but they're hard to see in the pics. The door locks, and the antenna are missing, as you can see in the pics. The tires have 95% of the tread left. Extras included with the car are straight rust free front left and right fenders, stock hood, and stock rear end. The car has a clear title. The only other item I've sold worth more than a couple hundred bucks, was Dave's 1940 Indian motorcycle a couple years ago. So, he told me he'd be willing to do a no reserve with low starting price. The car is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Dave did say, that if a bid is in, he'll honor it, and not end the auction. At end of auction 500.00 paypal deposit required, and we can make pick up or shipping arrangements. Any questions, and I won't be surprised if there are some, call Dave at 541-270-7699. You may have to leave message, but he'll get back to you. You can ask questions here, and if I can't answer, I'll get the answer from Dave. This is a nice car that won't disappoint. Odometer says almost 70,000, but may, or may not be correct. Please check out the video on youtube. On search put in 1965 ford falcon Futura 302 Thanks for looking. |

2014 Ford Fiesta gets fuel economy bump to 41 mpg
Fri, 07 Jun 2013The 2014 Ford Fiesta is in showrooms now with refreshed styling and new performance ST model, but it's what isn't yet available that should help the Fiesta stand out from the growing crowd of subcompacts. Aside from the new 1.0-liter EcoBoost model coming later this year, Ford recently told us that a new Fiesta SFE trim level is on the way that should put the updated Fiesta at the top of its class for fuel economy.
The new Fiesta SFE will hit an estimated 41 miles per gallon on the highway when equipped with the six-speed automatic transmission. The current listing on fueleconomy.gov shows the 2014 Fiesta getting up to 29 mpg city and 39 highway, but the SFE will get minor aero tuning and a recalibrated engine controller to help bump the highway figure past rivals like the Chevrolet Sonic and Nissan Versa - both of which top out at 40-mpg highway. There's still no word as to when the small 1.0-liter EcoBoost will show in the US, but Ford has indicated that engine's fuel economy isn't expected to be released until October.
Woman trades 1914 Model T in for 2013 Corvette
Wed, 17 Apr 2013We're sure that dealers must see all sorts of interesting trade ins, but this one may take the cake. Red River Chevrolet in Bossier City, Louisiana, recently had a customer come in with an odd request. Tina Boyter wanted to trade in three vehicles on a brand-new 2013 Chevy Corvette. Among the hardware was 1980 Corvette, a 1978 Cadillac Eldorado and a 1914 Ford Model T. While the '80 Corvette had been her personal car for years, the '78 Eldorado had belonged to Boyter's mother before she traded up to a Lincoln. The big Caddy had just 10,290 miles on the clock when it was traded in.
And the Model T? Boyter says the car was built as a racer by Ford, and that it had been a show winner for years when it belonged to her father. But, after spending the last 16 years in a museum with its fluids drained, Boyter decided it was time to shed some of the past. She walked into the dealer, laid eyes on a white 2LT Corvette with a red interior and offered to trade all three of the vehicles in on the sports car.
Why not wait for the C7? "I fell in love with that one when I walked in the door," She said. We can't fault her there.
MyFord Touch getting buttons and knobs back to counter criticisms
Mon, 17 Jun 2013Ford deserves credit for being a front-runner in offering advanced infotainment technology with its Sync and MyFord Touch systems, but continued consumer complaints over its confusing touchscreen interface and capacitive controls has made the automaker relent. The Wall Street Journal reports that physical buttons and knobs for controlling tuning and volume will be coming back to Ford vehicles equipped with the controversial infotainment system.
The 2013 F-150 with MyFord Touch gives us a glimpse of what the new layout with buttons and knobs might look like, as Ford says a similar balance of touch screen capability and buttons/knobs are what's being planned for future models. And, while capacitive controls have no fans in the halls of Autoblog, many of Ford's models with MyFord Touch do have a large physical knob for adjusting volume with integrated buttons for tuning and advancing tracks, though most of those are models with the optional upgraded Sony Audio system. Lincoln models with MyLincoln Touch, however, feature only capacitive controls for all stereo and climate functions.
Despite receiving enough complaints to throw buttons and knobs back into the mix (a move that reminds us of BMW's iDrive trajectory, among others), Ford reports that Sync and MyFord Touch have still been sold on 79 percent of its 2013 model year vehicles, a number it claims is double the rate that Honda and Toyota are getting for their infotainment systems. Ford also states that owners who do opt for the duo of technologies are more satisfied with overall vehicle quality than those who don't have it.
