Well my son has decided to sell his prize 65 Falcon. He has had it over 13 years and continually upgraded it over the years. Due to a growing new family the car has to go! It has a fresh built 351 Cleveland big block motor. Isky cam, edlebrock, etc. Also a freshly built FMX auto with a shift kit and Lokar shifter. Rear end was custom made for this car with 411 gears, disc brakes and posi-traction. (Currie Industries) The front end has a custom Mustang  II style set up with disc brakes, proportioning valve, etc. It will stop on a dime and give you a nickel change. The car has all been professionally built with certified shops. My son did it step by step as he could afford and ended up putting well over $15,000 into car, after purchasing a rust free car for a starter. Mechanically everything is done and done right. It is very dependable and fast. But since he spent so much on the car he has never abused it or raced it, although it is ready. It runs cool, does not smoke, and has no leaks, The sound of the car is awesome attracting attention at every stop light and in all the cruises they have attended. It has a custom roll bar set up and Volvo bucket seats. He does have the door panels, but hasn't installed as the plan was to paint it inside first. Windows all roll up and down correctly. New tires and wheels too! There are a lot of vendors that sell every part for these little Falcons. You can't find these rust free 2 door hardtops any more. Although not finished completely inside and the paint is about 8 years old the car is very presentable as is.
Vehicle is being sold as is and the shipping or pic up is the responsabilty of the buyer. I can help find shippers that service world wide. Also we could deliver, for expenses, if not too far from central Calif.
Please ask questions and let me know if you want any other pictures.
The same son also has a 65 Ranchero that will be available too. He hasn't had it as long. Both need to go to finance another baby and home upgrades.
Since the car has been at my house most of the time since 2000, I can answer questions. But at the time of sale you will be getting a clean title in my son's name. You can talk to him too. 805 462-9515

Car-crazy 5-year-old boy writes automakers for treasures, gets big response

Fri, Jan 25 2019

Part of the beauty of children is that they can find worth in something adults might deem unworthy or overlook entirely. Five-year-old Patch Hurty didn't see garbage or a broken piece of a car when he spotted a Ford badge lying on the side of a road. He saw an artifact, a souvenir, a start to a collection he could only dream of. Ezra Dyer of Popular Mechanics tells the story of Patch and his quest to turn that one lost badge into a museum of manufacturer logos. According to the article, Hurty is a car fanatic through and through, even using car names as a way of learning to read. After finding the Ford badge near his Connecticut home, he and his mom put together a plan to reach out to dozens of automakers, confessing his love of things on four wheels. In each letter, Patch assembled a picture of himself standing next to one of the cars, and a penny to pay for whatever he hoped was sent his way. The response was unexpectedly and overwhelmingly positive. Of the more than 50 letters he sent out, including to obscure or defunct companies such as Bugatti, Suzuki, and Saturn, a majority responded with warm notes and some type of souvenir. Two of the coolest responses came from Lincoln and Bentley. Lincoln sent a sketch of a Continental (all car lovers enjoy drawing cars, right?), and Bentley sent a wheel center cap. How awesome is that? The story reminds us of something that can easily be lost in all of the negativity involved with the auto industry: Everybody is in this because of a common infatuation with automobiles. For more details on the souvenirs Patch received and accompanying photos, read the rest of the story. 2015 Ford Focus gets more Aston-y [w/video]

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

With more and more members of the Ford brand adopting a new familial face, the Focus has been left looking like an odd man out. At the Geneva Auto Show, though, it properly rejoined the family, adopting the now familiar Aston Martin-ish grille that's proliferated throughout the range.
Overall, we're liking the refreshed Focus' look. Aside from the new grille, the headlights have been restyled and now look like elongated versions of the lamps on the Focus ST. Functionally, those headlamps are bi-xenon units, complete with an adaptive front lighting system. Out back, the rear retains the same overall look, which has been smoothed out for 2015.
In the cabin, the second-generation of Ford's much-maligned Sync system makes its debut. Sync 2, as it's called, is supposedly more intuitive than the first-gen system. Ford is promising "one-shot" navigation functions for the system. Saying "I'm hungry," should bring up a list of nearby restaurants. Of course, we'll be reserving final judgment until we can test the new system in person.

Ford Q3 pretax profits drop to $1.18B

Fri, 24 Oct 2014

Following positive third quarter financial results recently from General Motors, rival Ford took a tumble in Q3. The automaker posted pre-tax profits of $1.18 billion, compared to about $2.59 billion in Q3 2013, a drop of around 54 percent. Net income also suffered with $835 million made in the quarter, versus $1.272 billion last year, a decline of about 34 percent. The Blue Oval blamed the gloomy figures on three reasons in its release: "lower volume, higher warranty costs and adverse balance sheet exchange effects."
There were problems of one kind or another in practically every region. North America experienced higher warranty costs than expected, partially due to recalls. The sales volume for the quarter was 665,000 units, versus 725,000 in Q3 2013, and pre-tax results amounted to $1.41 billion versus $2.296 billion last year.
South America and Europe both posted worse pre-tax results than last year. On the bright side, European volume was up slightly to 321,000 vehicles, from 303,000 in Q3 2013. The Middle East and Africa also lost $15 million, but that was an improvement compared to the $25 million loss previously experienced in this region.
