1965 Ford Falcon 2 Door Hardtop on 2040-cars
Jonesboro, Louisiana, United States
Up for bids is this clean old 1965 ford falcon 2 door hard top. This is a neat old car. These hardtops are getting hard to find. It is a futura. It has a 289 engine in it with a 4 speed top loader transmission and a 9 inch rear end. It did not start out this way but someone made it like they wanted it. It was originally a T code 6 cylinder car. Everything was converted over including the front suspension so all the 6 cylinder stuff is gone. It looks like it had alot of spunk back in its day. It was sat up in the early 90's awaiting a restoration and well you know the so familiar story it never happened. The gentleman I got it from said This was a big 9 inch rear end and a top loader 4 speed out of another later 60's model mustang. He said it had some power at the red light. The body is in good shape considering its age and looks to be original sheetmetal. The body as a whole would need some work but it wouldn't take much to get it ready to repaint. It has a few small spots that will need a little work. This is not a bondo buggy either it looks to be pretty solid. The bottom of the drivers fender will need a little work. All the glass is good except for the windshield and I have another good one to go with it. The interior is all there just needs restoring. The floors look okay. I see a few small holes in the rear ones but I think they could be fixed as is without having to change them out. Thats just my opinion someone thats wants something perfect would probably want them changed out. The truck floor is the same way has a few small spots but nothing to big. The frame, torque boxes, and engine bay are all solid. Overall this is a solid car. The motor will turn over by hand. I have not tried to crank it. It will need the fuel system cleaned, brake work, and whatever else before it is ready to go. It was running when it was sat up. It will most likely run still but will take some work and effort to do so. I have a clear title to it. It is located in Jonesboro Louisiana. I will accept cash in person, certitfied bank check, or bank wire transfer as payment for the car. I can store it as long as needed but will require full payment within seven days of the end of auction. If you have questions or need more info just let me know. If you would like to call me my number is 318-278-1069.

Ford predicts it will finish 2013 as top-selling US brand
Mon, 30 Dec 2013Ford is ready to call the ball on its 2013 sales totals, predicting a first-place finish for units sold in the US for a single brand. The company anticipates selling more than 2.4 million vehicles when all vehicle sales over the last 12 months have been tallied, repeating the victory it trumpeted over Toyota last year.
According to Ford's accounting, it sold 329,677 more vehicles than did Toyota in 2012. This year, the Blue Oval expects that margin to grow; through the end of November, Ford says it has outsold Toyota by 396,041 units.
Retail sales of Ford products are projected to exceed 1.7 million units for 2013 (the best retail result in 6 years for the company), with passenger cars accounting for 600k of that total. The redesigned Fusion is expected to crest the 290k mark, and the Fiesta is said to be ready to hit a model-record of 70k-plus. Meanwhile, utility vehicles and trucks are still paying a lot of bills in Dearborn, with the new Escape racking up an expected 300k sales and F-Series trucks chugging along at 688,810 units sold thru November.
FBI Seizes Computers, Listening Devices From Ford Headquarters
Fri, Jul 25 2014FBI agents searched Ford Motor Company's headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan, this month as part of an investigation into possible corporate espionage. Eight devices, along with documents, computers and financial records, were among the items seized by federal agents on July 11, according to documents obtained by The Detroit News. The FBI searched Leach's home on June 20 and seized more than two dozen items in that search, Reuters reported. Former engineer Sharon Leach, a 17-year Ford veteran of company, was fired last month, according to The News, which first reported the story. She admitted to placing recording devices under conference tables before meetings. She told Ford security she used the recordings to assist in her meeting notes. She couldn't remove the devices after meetings without drawing attention to herself, leaving the devices to record other meetings. Leach has not been charged for any wrongdoing. Former federal prosecutor and Wayne State University law professor Peter Henning told The News that using a search warrant, rather than a subpoena, shows the FBI suspects more employees could be implicated. "If it's an economic espionage case or trade-secrets case, that rarely involves one individual," Henning told The Detroit News. "So the concern is if you send a subpoena and ask for recording devices, those things can be erased." Leach, Ford and the FBI declined to comment on the investigation. Entry-level F-150 now offers SuperCrew, Sport Package
Thu, 29 Aug 2013Ford has made a few notable tweaks to the lower end of its F-150 lineup, giving customers a more affordable version of the four-door SuperCrew body style. The popular SuperCrew could previously only be had on XLT models and above, but Ford has announced that 2014 F-150s with the base STX trim can get the more versatile body.
The STX SuperCrew brings the price of a four-door F-150 down from $34,525 to $33,145. Like the XLT SuperCrew, the STX will be available with the choice of a 5.5- or 6.5-foot bed, while a 5.0-liter V8 can replace the base 3.7-liter V6 for $4,425. Ford has not released pricing on the different bed lengths yet, but opting for the 6.5-foot bed on the XLT raises the price $1,240 and forces buyers into the 5.0-liter V8. We'd expect a similar arrangement on the STX.
The other big news for fans of affordable pickups is the addition of an STX Sport Package on the base-level truck. It adds 20-inch wheels, black exterior accents, black-and-gray cloth seats and decals on the truck's box. The Sport Package is available on all three of the STX's body styles, with Ford listing the price as $980 with current discounts.
