This is a very nicely restored Falcon Sprint. Car was stripped and repainted the original Rose Beige in 2004. Driven less than 2500 miles since 2004. Fuel tank and fuel level sending unit were replaced in 2009. Previous owner had the engine rebuilt and it sounds like an aftermarket larger cam installed. Beautiful sounding 260 V8, 4BBl, dual exhausts. New tires, trunk flooring, carpet, door panels, seat covers, headliner and dash are new. Original AM Radio. Original engine and 2 speed Ford-O-Matic transmission. Cobra tachomoter. Feb 2013: heater core, upper and lower radiator hoses, fuel pump and fuel filter replaced. Horn relay replaced, lube/oil/filter change. Valve cover gaskets replaced, front wheel bearings replaced and seals replaced. Cooling system flushed. A couple of small dings on the bumpers with a small area on rear bumper where chrome has peeled. A rechrome of the bumpers would make this car almost showroom perfect. Runs and drives great. All glass and seals in great condition. Lots of extra parts in trunk. This is a great car for car shows. All original except for the items restored/replaced and the larger cam. Car is sold as is where is. I have no problem with driving this car anywhere, but I would trailer it just to preserve the beauty on a long trip. Please ask any questions before bidding. Potential buyers can view the car by calling me to set up an appointment. 620-340-0934, Emporia, Kansas. About 55 miles south of Topeka,Ks. The aluminum cover that goes over the driver's side seat hinge is cracked. You should be able to see from the pictures.

This 2,000-hp Mustang is in serious need of wheelie bars
Tue, 25 Feb 2014The Ford Mustang on the right is drag racing with the standard technique. The Mustang on the left, driven by David Measell, is using a new "rear bumper only" technique that evidently surprised everyone at the South Georgia Motorsports Park strip - including Measell.
Measell said his outfit just bought the car the week before the event, noting that it has more than 2,000 horsepower. Speaking of his "flying" run, Measell said, "We turned it up to dip on down," by which he meant they turned up the power in order to get his time down. Turns out all that power and all that traction sent the nose straight up into the air almost as soon as the race began.
He told an interviewer afterward that this was his first race in a "regular car" since he normally drives a pro-mod. "I like my wheelie bars," he concluded. You can see how he got there in the video below.
Ford C-Max spied with fresh updates
Fri, 05 Sep 2014The Ford C-Max hatchback looks to be getting a few cosmetic updates, as evidenced in this latest set of spy photos. Like the smaller Focus, which also received a nip/tuck for the 2015 model year, the C-Max appears to be getting a revised front fascia with slimmer headlamps and a more, shall we say, Aston Martin-like grille. Around back, there looks to be a new bumper with redesigned taillamps, as well.
In other markets, the C-Max people-mover is available with a range of powertrains, but here in the US, it exists either as a traditional gas-electric or plug-in hybrid. The C-Max's fuel economy has been a particular topic of interest lately, with its official fuel economy ratings having been lowered twice since the vehicle's launch. Sales initially suffered a bit following this fiasco, though numbers have since leveled out. It's unclear if Ford is working on any powertrain tweaks for the updated C-Max seen here, however.
Ford has likely spruced up the hatch's interior, as well, though we don't have photos of that at this time. Mum's the word on when we'll see the new C-Max, but our best guess is that it'll arrive sometime in the next year.
Ford issues six recalls covering 101,000 vehicles for multiple issues
Tue, 08 Jul 2014Ford is announcing six separate recalls for a variety of issues affecting a dozen models and a total of 100,610 vehicles in North America. However, according to Ford spokesperson Kelli Felker, "None of them have caused accidents or injuries." Half of them cover fewer than 1,000 cars.
The largest recall covers 92,022 North American examples (about 83,250 in the US) of some models of the Ford Taurus, Lincoln MKS, Ford Interceptor, Flex and Lincoln MKT from the 2013 and 2014 model years; the 2012-2014 Edge and the 2014 Lincoln MKX. All of them have a potential issue with the halfshaft on the right side that might not be fully seated and could move outward over time. If it shifts too far, the models may no longer be able to drive, and the condition could also allow the vehicles to roll away, even when in Park. Dealers will inspect the shaft to make sure it's seated and will replace the part if necessary.
The next-largest recall covers 5,264 North American examples (4,867 in the US) of the Ford F59 Commercial Stripped Chassis from the 2011-2014 model years. It's possible that an electrical junction box can corrode in areas with salty roads and short circuit. The problem could potentially cause a fire. Dealers will replace the box with an improved design.
