THE MUSTANG WOULD COME OUT A YEAR LATER WITH A LOT OF THESE OPTIONS, THIS WAS A GREAT MARKET TEST TO SEE HOW THE PUBLIC WOULD REACT TO A FACTORY HOT ROD...THE END RESULT WAS OVERWELMING....THEY HAD A WINNER THAT PAVED THE WAY TO WHAT WE NOW KNOW AS MUSCLE CARS. THIS CAR IS A TRUE FACTORY SPRINT WITH A 260 V8 / 4 SPEED TRANSMISSION ...THAT HAS GIVEN WAY TO A REBUILT 302 V8 WITH A SMALL ROLLER CAM, EDELBROCK PREFORMANCE MANIFOLD AND 600CFM CARBURETOR, WITH ELECTRONIC IGNITION, 5 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION, AND STOCK REAR END WITH 3:50 GEARS. DONE RIGHT. THE INTERIOR IS NEW FROM THE HEADLINER TO THE CARPET, EVERYTHING IS DONE IN CUSTOM RED WITH WHITE SEAT INSERTS, AND DOOR PANELS, A NEW ANOLOG GAUGE CLUSTER AND WOOD STEERING WHEEL FINISH OFF THE PERFECT DASH...NOT CUT UP, EVEN THE ORIGIONAL AM RADIO IS STILL IN THE DASH, BUT ALSO HAS A PIONEER CD/AM/FM UNDER THE DASH FOR THOSE WHO WANT MORE THAN THE SOUND OF THE MOTOR FOR MUSIC. THE INTERIOR IS FACTORY, NO MONKEY BARS (roll cage) TO CLIMB OVER, AND NO WHEEL WELL TUBS, FUEL CELL, BOOM BOXES, OR BATTERY, IN THE TRUNK, HAS A FULL SIZE SPARE, AND A TRUNK YOU CAN USE. NEW WINDSHIELD, ALL RUBBER SEALS REPLACED, BOTH BUMPERS RECHROMED, AND ALL THE BRIGHT WORK IS POLISHED AND IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THIS IS A FRESH CAR WITH AROUND 1000 SINCE COMPLETION, AND REALLY NEEDS NOTHING....SO WHY AM I SELLING IT?...I HAVE FOUND ANOTHER CAR THAT HAS CAUGHT MY EYE, MY BRAIN TELLS ME THAT I WILL NEVER FIND ANOTHER CAR LIKE THIS AGAIN, MY HEART TELLS ME THAT WE ONLY PASS THROUGH THIS WORLD ONCE AND WE SHOULD ENJOY AS MANY DIFFERENT CARS AS WE CAN. I DO NOT PLAY GAMES, AND DO NOT LIKE HAVING TO PLAY GAMES...I DO NOT SEND OUT SECOND CHANCE OFFERS, OR REPLY TO ANY ELECTRONIC CORRESPONDENCE OTHER THAN THE E-BAY MESSAGE CENTER, FOR THAT REASON I HAVE LEFT ROOM TO ADD POTOS OF REQUESTED AREAS TO ADD TO THE LISTING IF NEEDED...JUST REAL TIRED OF THE SCAMMERS, HACKERS, AND INTERNET THIEVES. Ford Mustang 50th anniversary edition brings in $170k
Tue, 30 Sep 2014Just the other day, we reported on the first Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat selling for a whopping $825,000 at auction. But impressive as that sum was, the Challenger wasn't the only sought-after modern muscle car to cross the Barrett-Jackson auction block in Las Vegas this past weekend. So did this rare Ford Mustang.
The last of 1,964 special-edition 50 Years Limited Edition pony cars sold for a princely $170,000, with proceeds benefiting the Edith and Benson Ford Heart & Vascular Institute, a branch of the Henry Ford Health System.
The pony car in question is based on the 2015 Ford Mustang GT and upgrades with a performance package and nearly every option on the book, along with a unique appearance package to set it apart in celebration of the Mustang's 50th anniversary. It's available in two exclusive shades - Wimbledon white or Kona blue - with either a manual or automatic transmission. Only 1,964 highly symbolic examples were to be built, and this was the last of them.
Ford Mustang to get four-cylinder in Europe, but not US
Thu, 07 Mar 2013Fans of the Ford Mustang SVO, which was produced from 1884 through 1986 with a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine and a manual transmission, may be interested to know that Ford is reportedly going to introduce something similar for 2015. But don't get too excited if you live in the US, as Edmunds reports that the vehicle will be offered in Europe only. Boo!
According to the report, Ford will put a version of its EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder into the engine bay of the Mustang. The engine would be enlarged from its current 2.0 liters to 2.3 liters, taking horsepower from 252 to around 300. The well-known 5.0 V8 engine will also be available in Europe.
"The Mustang is uniquely Ford and has a huge fan base here in Europe. Now those fans have something to look forward to and we look forward to providing more details in the near future," says Ford of Europe CEO Stephen Odell. That's great... but why not offer buyers in the States the (likely) fuel-efficient turbo option, too?
This woman owns the first Ford Mustang sold in the US
Wed, 11 Dec 2013As Ford celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Mustang with the unveiling of the all-new sixth-gen design, one Chicago women can lay claim to a piece of Mustang history. According to CBS Chicago, Gail Wise was the first person in the US to buy a Mustang in 1964, and she did so two days before the car was even unveiled to the public.
Wise, then a 22-year-old teacher, went into the Chicago Ford dealership wanting to buy a convertible, and a salesperson ushered her over to car covered by a tarp. That car was a baby blue Mustang convertible, which she still owns today - along with the documentation. After sitting for almost 30 years and undergoing a full restoration, the car now looks to be in original condition. The report says that this $3,400 purchase could be worth anywhere between $100,000 and $250,000. While this worked out well for Mrs. Wise, we wouldn't recommend anyone going into a dark, back room of a dealership hoping to get a jump on the purchase of a 2015 Mustang.
