This is an incredible nice original 80K mile Falcon Squire Wagon that I have been blessed to own the past 3-5 years. The car was restored to a really nice nice driver condition. Everything is nicely detailed including the new rebuilt 200 motor.
The motor... a ford 200 with a GM distrubutor ($500), chrome valve cover, large 9mm race wires, 2 bbl webber carb ($500) and clifford exhaust header ($400) that is chrome. The car runs really good on the highway and cruises the local streets with ease. Breathes really nice with the header and has plenty of get up and go with the 200 and the 2 bbl webber carb...The whole motor compartment was stripped and painted, and then the new power plant installed. Also updated it to an Alternator. Everything is show-n-go for the engine bay.
The interior... is all finished in two tone beige and wood accents. the back deck is a medium stained real wood deck and matched the interior perfect giving it a great beachy "woody" look. The front seats are high back 2012 Mustang Leather seats that are really comfortable...can be hooked up to be electric (currently not hooked up but easily done)...Has new custom carpet, new headliner, new door panels, new dash pad, new steering wheel. The interior was compleatly stripped and restored. New heater core installed too.
Exterior... Stripped and painted base/clear dark metallic green with an off white top. Then hand rubbed and buffed out to a high luster. It's a really nice paint job that has a couple small flaws in it from driving it to shows the past year or so, I mean small small flaws, but thought I would disclose them. All of the original Squire accents are present including the gas cap which is really hard to find. All squire badging is there and in really good shape.
The rear window is electric., it goes up and down with a switch in the dash...or by key. All of the glass in in great condition...and the front windsheild is new.
All weatherstripping is new., all window rubber, door jam weatherstripping etc....all the windows were removed when painting to get the best detail possible...then the car was put back together. The detail is really nice on this car.
I have had nothing but joy with this Squire Wagon and the new owner will do nothing but have joy when they own it.
Details...
- I have some extras that come with the car...a couple surf boards, a hula hule girl for the dash
- AM/FM/CD stereo is mounted in the glove box with a bass mounted in the spare tire area giving a nice rich sound.
- Custom console
All in all this car needs nothing but a garage to live in. The 2 speed transmission does the job., but if I was to keep the car, I would install an early c-4 as they are more up to date.
If you have any questions on this Squire Wagon, don't hesitate to call., or if you would like more photos of the motor area (completely detailed) and or interior don't hesitate to ask. I will entertain offers too.
Car is also for sale locally here in Sacramento., although if there are bids and they are close to my asking price I will let the listing ride. But I do reserve the right to pull the listing if is sells locally. If I get around to listing it local.
Thanks., Guy 916-549-1088

Unrestored 1969 Shelby GT500 one of many classic barn finds going to auction
Wed, 19 Mar 2014We love a good barn find here at Autoblog. We like that there's a palpable excitement and sense of mystery surrounding barn finds. Each case has its own uniqueness to it, and this latest discovery is no different: an unrestored, one-owner 1969 Shelby GT500 with just 8,531 miles on it.
In the case of this particular barn find, many of the typical questions have already been answered. For example, we know who owned it - his name was Larry Brown. He recently passed away, and as he had no wife or children to inherit the estate, the car he purchased at Pennsylvania Ford dealer in May of 1969, will be auctioned off by Ron Gilligan Auctioneers.
The car was fastidiously maintained, having never been driven in the rain. In fact, Brown never even washed it, out of fear of it rusting. According to the auction website, the last time this car saw water was probably when it was detailed ahead of being delivered to Brown. If that doesn't sound like a fanatical sense of maintenance on the part of this GT500's owner, this next part will. The interior has been treated to a similarly painstaking attempt at preservation, with garbage bags covering the seats and two layers of floor mats over the carpets. The result is a car that, aesthetically, is in remarkable shape considering it's spent so long in a barn.
United States drivers buying fewer Mexican-made cars
Tue, May 10 2016Crossovers and pickup trucks are not only growing in market share, they're also more profitable than cars. A crossover on the same platform as a sedan retails for thousands more, despite similar components. It's one of the reasons we've seen automakers rapidly shifting production of their sedans and hatchbacks to Mexico, where cheap labor preserves the thin profit margins on these inexpensive vehicles. But as the market continues to shift in the United States, Mexico is getting burned by its lack of product diversity. The country's auto exports, which are heavy on cars, suffered a 16-percent drop last month, Automotive News reports. In total, year-over-year exports fell from 233,515 to 197,020 last month, while year-to-date exports are down by 7.4 percent, from 922,029 to 854,118. The number one culprit? America – which usually accounts for 75 percent of Mexico's exports – and its appetite for crossovers and pickup trucks bolstered by cheap gas prices. While Mexico does build some light truck models – AN specifically calls out the Ram 2500, Honda HR-V, GMC Sierra, and Toyota Tacoma as export leaders – the vast majority of vehicles rolling out of its factories are sedans and hatchbacks. In fact, the three biggest drops in Mexican exports came from companies whose south of the border factories only build cars – Ford (Fusion/Lincoln MKZ and Fiesta), Mazda (Mazda3), and Volkswagen (Golf and Jetta). Mexican Automotive Industry Association President Eduardo Solis told AN the export shortfall will likely be sorted out sooner rather than later, thanks to a pair of new factories – a Kia car factory and an Audi SUV plant – that are coming online by year's end. The two facilities will add around 100,000 vehicles to the country's export totals, which Solis said should leave the industry on the verge of breaking another export record in 2016. But how sustainable will these record-breaking years be? Slapping an "Hecho en Mexico" sticker on a new German SUV won't be enough to change the fact that Mexico's product mix is tilted too heavily towards body styles that are not growing in volume. Mexico's record-breaking export years probably aren't at an end, but we'd argue they're certainly under threat. Ford to add more than 2,000 jobs in Kansas City
Thu, 02 May 2013Continued high demand for the Ford F-150, along with the addition of the all-new Transit series of commercial vehicles, has led Ford to announce that it will add over 2,000 jobs at its Kansas City Assembly Plant. At the time of the announcement, the plant boasts 2,450 hourly employees working on two shifts. All told, Ford will invest $1.1 billion in the Kansas City plant to expand truck production and begin producing the Transit series.
According to the automaker, fullsize truck sales are up 19 percent through April of 2013, leading to an additional 900 workers and a third shift of production for the F-150. Production of the Transit series will begin in the fourth quarter of this year, requiring an additional 1,100 workers. In addition, Ford estimates that a total of 18,000 jobs will be created by suppliers to its Kansas City plant to support the additional vehicle production.
