1962 ford falcon Deluxe 4 door. 170 engine that runs. I bought this car to fix up but just don't have the time. Use it for a parts car or fix it up. I put a new fuel pump on it and drove it down the drive and backed it back up the driveway that is as far as I took it.( that was a month ago) It ran fine but I belive the fuel tank will need cleaned out. It dosn't lok to leak any fluids except the gasket under the carb will need to be replaced, it leaks fuel. The manual choke works great. I towed it home so I know the brakes work fine. The front floors and the trunk have been patched by the previous owner. There is some rust on the bottom of the front quarter panels as well as the back. The rockers look to be in great shape. The turn signal switch was replaced but not right because it wont stay in place and some of the wiring will need to be hooked up from the steering column. The tires have only 2 nuts per tire (why, I don't know). The missing chrome for the drivers side is in the trunk. It could be made into a daily driver with little effort. I have a clean Indiana title. Cash only on pick up. $300. deposit via paypal at auction end. Please look at the pics and ask before you bid. I tried to be as honest as I could with the discription. Ford jumps back in the water with marinized 6.2L V8
Wed, 06 Nov 2013Nameplates like the Mercury Mariner and Lincoln Navigator aside, Ford hasn't offered a marine engine in over two decades. But through a new partnership with one of the biggest names in the business, the Dearborn-based automaker is dipping its proverbial toes back in the water.
Announced yesterday at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the new partnership between Ford Component Sales and Indmar Marine Engines will see the 6.2-liter V8 from the F-150 SVT Raptor and F-Series Super Duty marinized for use in boats.
The largest privately owned inboard gasoline marine engine manufacturer in the world, Indmar has been in the business for 43 years, and figures the Ford V8 will be just what watersport enthusiasts are looking for to tow waterskiers and wakeboarders to their hearts' content.
Ford won't be releasing GT500 lap times for the 'Ring, or any other car
Wed, 27 Nov 2013Trucks have towing capacity, EVs have driving range and performance cars have Nürburgring lap times. What do all three have in common? They should all be taken with a grain of salt. Currently, there is no sanctioned way to record lap times or verify production-spec cars - a lesson we recently learned with the 2015 Nissan GT-R Nismo - and until there is a way to do so (and there probably never will be), we'll never officially know the actual time it took for Ford to lap the 'Ring with its ultra-powerful Shelby GT500.
After posting a Ford-made video of a 2013 GT500 running around the 'Ring, the guys over at SVTPerformance.com (an enthusiasts forum not affiliated with Ford or SVT) wanted more answers. They got in touch with Ford's Global Performance Vehicle Chief Engineer Jamal Hameedi, who said until there is a way to verify the times and inspect the cars, Ford will not get involved with lap-time wars. In the email, Hameedi pointed out that the 'Ring is a useful tool in that it allows a wide spectrum of track conditions, but until there is a governed way to record times, there is no way to accurately compare cars head-to-head.
And as much as some may not like it, Hameedi speaks the truth. It really isn't possible to compare times from one car to another, unless those cars were lapping the same track at the same time with the same driver. Not that any of this means there won't be continuous wars by fans and manufacturers alike... in other words, feel free to voice your opinions in the Comments below.
