01 Mustang Gt V8 Convertible Restored New Paint New Top 115k Engine Custom Seats on 2040-cars
Springfield, Massachusetts, United States
2001 Ford Mustang GT Convertible 4.6L Automatic NO RESERVE AUCTION!!! I'm selling my 01 Mustang V8. I've invested a lot of care and money around this time last year. Nothing to hide or surprises. Current odometer miles are 234,xxx and being driven now. She runs, drives and sounds beautiful. Has no issues and no service lights on at all. It actually just passed Massachusetts yearly emissions and safety inspection two weeks ago. The current engine on the car only has 115k miles, and I have all paperwork and receipt for it and some of the new parts. At the time of resto the car had 224,xxx miles, and the original a engine had a blown head gasket, so I decided to have the engine swapped and have mostly everything redone. (I have paperwork for the new engine and Carfax of the donor vehicle). Along with the newer engine, came a new intake manifold, water pump, serpentine belt with tensioner, new alternator, new engine valve cover gaskets and other misc gaskets and main seals, new K&N air filter assembly, new injectors, new fuel pump and fuel neck assembly. After the mechanical work, the paint was redone it's original white color, and right after the top was replaced with the current black top instead of the original white, along with the rear glass and the front windshield. Then it came time for the interior to be reupholstered with the nicely done white and black two-tone with the pony on all seats. I've replace the original mufflers with Flow-master cat-backs so it sound very nice, not too loud. Tires all match and are ok, but might need new rubber on a near future. Please see actual pictures and feel free to ask any questions before placing bids. Serious buyers only. I reserve the right to remove any bids from buyers with -0- or negative feedback if buyer does not contact me prior to biding on auction. Selling as is, where is. Buyer is responsible for any shipping/transport or pick up charges. A $500 deposit is due thru Paypal within 48 hours of the end of auction, and the remaining is due either before or at pick up time within 7 days. Thank you for looking and Happy Biding! On Mar-15-14 at 17:42:29 PDT, seller added the following information: I have a clean Massachusetts title on hand. I am the 2nd owner. I also have a copy Carfax history for it. Everything electrical works as it should. Car has factory panic alarm and it comes with two working remotes and two keys but the spare key needs to be programmed to start the car, only one key starts the car. |

Report: GM struggling to market turbo technology
Tue, 20 Apr 2010In the automotive realm, marketing can sometimes prove just as important as the actual product. Take, for instance, Ford's well regarded EcoBoost technology, which couples turbocharging with direct injection to produce more horsepower and reduce fuel consumption. Would it surprise you to hear that General Motors has had similar technology on the market for over three years?
It's true. GM's first turbocharged, direct injected powerplants hit the market for the 2007 model. The 2.0-liter Ecotec mills put down an impressive 260 horsepower and a matching 260 pound-feet of torque, and they were lauded by the press in the engine bays of the Pontiac Solstice, Saturn Sky, Chevrolet Cobalt SS and Chevrolet HHR SS. But few people outside a core group of enthusiasts actually remember this fact.
Says Uwe Grebe, executive director of GM's global advanced engineering, "We didn't have a badge and say, 'This is the most important thing we will put on all our brochures.'" Ford, however, did just that, and it's EcoBoost engines are right at the tips of all our tongues when we discuss today's most advanced powerplants. So, how does The General fix its mistake?
Ford reveals EcoBoost-powered Riley prototype for Daytona 24
Tue, 01 Oct 2013It's not the first time Ford has participated in the Daytona Prototype class as an engine supplier, but in revealing this new EcoBoost V6-powered Riley Technologies prototype for the new United SportsCar Championship, Ford is making a statement: "We want to show Ford EcoBoost's capabilities as an engine that provides both performance and fuel economy, on and off the track," says Jamie Allison, director of Ford Racing.
In addition to supplying the 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6, Ford had its production designer Garen Nicoghosian give the racecar brand-inspired design cues with support from Ford Racing chief aerodynamicist Bernie Marcus.
The car is scheduled to compete at next year's Rolex 24 at Daytona on January 25-26, but before that, Michael Shank Racing is working with Ford at another goal. Driving his Ford Thunderbird, NASCAR champion Bill Elliott set the track's top speed record at 210.364 miles per hour during a qualifying run for the Daytona 500 - way back in 1987 -- and Ford thinks it's about time for that record to fall. What better time the introduction of this new Ford-powered Daytona Prototype? Michael Shank Racing plans to use the twin-turbo V6-powered racer to beat Elliott's record, and it expects to begin prepping for the top-speed run on October 9. Scroll down for the full press release below on Ford's latest race effort.
1964 Ford GT40 prototype sells for $7M
Mon, 14 Apr 2014Seven-figure Ferraris are not horribly rare. Heck, an eight-figure Ferrari isn't a rare occurrence. Between modern masterpieces like the Enzo and more classic offerings, cracking the million-dollar mark isn't a particularly tall order for the cars from Maranello. For a Ford, though, it's a big deal.
Now, this is not just some rare Mustang. This is a GT40, the car that Henry Ford II commissioned to whip Enzo Ferrari around a track in France. As far as the Le Mans-winning racers go, they don't get much rarer than this one. Sold at the Mecum Auctions in Houston, this is one of the prototypes, meaning it's one of the very first GT40s ever built. That makes its $7 million winning a bid, a record for on-air coverage of the auction, a pretty darn impressive figure.
You can watch the auction below, but first, take a look back at our original story on this rare Blue Oval.
