Extremely Nice 1957 Ford Failane 500 on 2040-cars
Oroville, California, United States
Up for sale is an immaculate 1957 Ford Fairlane 500. This car has been completely restored from the body off to the frame and everything in between. This Ford has absolutely zero rust and no bondo. It has never been in an accident that I can tell and has been in Northern California all it's life. I purchased this car from a local restorer who had the car done in primer and was still needing to paint, complete the interior and put her back together. I've had the car for a couple of years and have run into time and money restraints and need to sell this to complete other projects. The car is currently registered and is on a non-op. There are no fees against the car. This Fairlane runs and drives like she looks. The interior, paint, tires, wheels and much of the chrome and trim is new or looks new. however, it will need several pieces of trim to complete as well as : neutral safety switch, shocks, some weatherstrip, right vent glass has a crack. upper windshield trim edges, driver door upper trim and check mark. The right side fin trim is a bit dented but can easily be repaired. The paint, while not show quality looks fantastic, the interior is all new as is the carpet, headliner. All the glass in in great shape except the right wing vent has a crack. Everything seems to work. It can be driven but has not been driven much since I've had it. The car is very solid, never any rot or rust whatsoever, the chrome is all in very nice condition, the body lines are good and straight. The car is stored inside and can remain there free of charge for a reasonable amount of time. I will assist in shipping all I can but the cost is the responsibility of the buyer. If you have any questions, please call 530-519-2195 or email. I will respond quickly, Thanks |

Has the 2015 Ford Mustang gained hundreds of pounds?
Sun, 01 Jun 2014Automakers face competing interests when it comes to developing a new generation of vehicle. On the one hand, companies want to build their cars to be safer and better handling, with more equipment and maybe even larger dimensions over the model it's replacing. On the other hand, they strive to keep weight down to the benefit of both performance and fuel consumption. Usually something has to give, and in the case of the new 2015 Ford Mustang, those efforts may have resulted in a weight penalty of two or three hundred pounds.
This according to Blue Oval modifier Steeda Autosports, which states that "the 2015 Mustang ended up gaining 200-300 pounds in this remake". Despite the Mustang not being on the market yet, it would appear the leading Ford aftermarketer has been given early access to the 2015 model to help jumpstart its tuning efforts (a rather common development among trusted tuners). If Steeda's assertion is accurate, that would make the challenge of getting the new pony car up to speed for both Ford and aftermarket customizers like Steeda that much greater.
We're waiting for official word from Ford on the veracity of Steeda's claim, but if true, it's bound to be a bit of disappointing news for legions of Blue Oval performance enthusiasts. Watch this space for more.
Carmakers, NHTSA to unveil auto-emergency braking agreement tomorrow
Wed, Mar 16 2016Happy St. Patrick's Day Eve. Tomorrow, there will be green beer, corned beef and cabbage, and automatic emergency braking for all. Weird combo, we know. But on St. Patty's we can expect an official announcement from a pact of automakers making auto-braking systems standard equipment by 2022. That's per a report from Reuters, which cites three sources familiar with the plans. Originally announced in September 2015 by 10 automakers and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the agreement is expected to be even larger when the details are unveiled tomorrow. According to Reuters, the manufacturers of 99 percent of the US domestic market's vehicles will be represented by the new agreement. It's believed that standard AEB systems could prevent thousands of accidents across the country. Expect more on the official announcement when it's made. Related Video:
