I am selling a true time capsule. This 1969 Ford Fairlane has only 39,000 original documented miles. Absolutely NO RUST ever on this car. It has the original numbers matching 428 Cobra Jet Motor with the factory Ram Air still intact and operational. It's the original 3 speed automatic C6 Trans, and runs perfectly. The interior is all original and in EXCELLENT condition. The original polyglass spare tire is still in the trunk. I have the factory build sheet, protecto plate, Marti Report, and a copy of the original title when purchased new. This car was purchased from the son of the original owner 6 years ago and has been pampered in a climate controlled garage since. The only components ever replaced on the car are the tires, a water pump and a carburetor. I still have the original water pump and carb. The car has been repainted once in the factory color. The paint and chrome are very smooth and shine like new. The interior is in EXCELLENT condition as well with no signs of wear, or sun fading. The under carriage of this car is as clean and rust free as the top. Entire car is VERY clean and in EXCELLENT condition. The car needs nothing at all.... If you are looking for an ALL Original, extremely low milage, clean honest car, this is the one. This car drives incredibly well, it's tight, with no squeaks or rattles, and drives as straight as an arrow. Every once in a great while you come accross a true collector car and this is one of those. 2014 Ford Transit unveiled in Chassis Cab and Cutaway versions
Fri, 08 Mar 2013As a leader in commercial vehicles here in the US, we knew Ford wouldn't take too long to show off the chassis cab and cutaway versions of its 2014 Ford Transit van. Set to go on sale this fall, Ford already revealed the full-body version of the Transit, and now it has pulled the cover off exposed-frame models just in time to to compete against the all-new Ram Promaster.
The term "chassis cab" refers to models with a fully enclosed cabin used for box vans or rental trucks, while cutaway models leave the cabin open behind the B-pillars for a pass-through on vehicles such as Class C motorhomes or ambulances. Both will offer three wheelbase options (138, 156 and 178 inches), the choice of single or dually rear axles, and plenty of upfitter-friendly touches including a pre-wired body harness and multiple body mount locations.
The new design will also help make upfitting a little easier since the fuel filler is now built into the cab (just behind the driver's door). Those integrated fuel filler necks will serve to feed either a 3.7-liter V6, a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, or a 3.2-liter Power Stroke diesel. Transit chassis cab and cutaways will wear varying Gross vehicle weight ratings from 9,000 pounds to 10,360 pounds depending on spec.
Ford Focus ST diesel estate in track showdown with Focus ST hatch
Sun, Jan 18 2015Diesel hot hatches are still a concept that's gaining ground. Obviously, there are none for sale in the US, but European buyers have the choice of at least the Volkswagen Golf GTD and Ford Focus ST Diesel. What better way to find out how the new, high-performance oil-burner really stacks up than for Ford to stage a race against the gasoline-fueled Focus ST? On paper, the ST Diesel is at a big performance detriment here. Its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder makes 182 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque compared to 247 hp and 266 lb-ft for the gas version in this race. However while not a factor for this race, the oil-burner does offer better fuel economy and produces less CO2, which makes a difference for European buyers. Ford skews the race results by giving the ST Diesel Estate a two-second head start for this one-lap battle around the Castle Combe Circuit. Also, this is a video from the Blue Oval, which is going to further minimize the appearance of weakness for its vehicles. Still, both STs really get to show off their strengths, and it's worth seeing how the sibling rivalry shakes out at the finish line.
2015 Ford Mustang Convertible to recreate Empire State Building stunt
Tue, 25 Mar 2014It would have been all too easy to miss the auto show debut of the 2015 Ford Mustang convertible. It was, after all, unveiled alongside its fixed-roof counterpart at the Detroit Auto Show this past January, lumping coupe and cabrio into one debut. But Ford is evidently still intent on making its new droptop stand out. The top of the Empire State Building ought to do the trick.
Automotive history buffs may recall that, 50 years ago, Ford unveiled its first Mustang convertible atop what was then the tallest building in the world, that Art Deco icon of the New York skyline. Half a century later, Ford is recreating the feat and bringing the new topless Mustang to the same observation deck on the building's 86th floor.
Getting it up there, of course, will be no easy task. While they'd usually airlift the vehicle onto the roof or lift it by crane, the spire protruding from atop the building makes approaching the narrow observation deck too dangerous, and no mobile crane can telescope the thousand-plus feet it would take to get the pony car up there.
