1969 Ford Fairlane Cobra

Q-Code 428 Cobra Jet

Original #'s Matching

You are viewing a very rare original 1969 Ford Cobra Q code. The car is verified with a deluxe Marti Report. The Q code VIN on dash, door data plate and registration all match. This car still retains its original 428 CJ motor and Traction-Lok rear axel. This car was an original 4 speed car, but the 4 speed was swapped for an automatic C6. Clutch pedal still in the car. Has staggered rear shocks and oil cooler. As you can tell, this car would benefit greatly with a good detail.

Motor has been completely rebuilt, solid lifter cam and roller rockers, motor runs great but still needs final valve adjustment. The C6 has also been rebuilt. Flowmaster Exhaust,  Power 4 wheel disc brakes and new lines  . The suspension has been rebuilt. Brand new BF Goodrich T/A Radials on original Cobra wheels, trim rings and caps are as new.

The body on this car is very straight and 99% rust free. The floors, trunk, frame rails, door bottoms, quarters, lower fenders are all nice. The car was repainted 1969 Fire Mist about 12 years ago and still looks good, there are some small chips here and there, no dents. Glass is nice, front bumper is nice, the rear bumper is solid with some of the chrome peeling, the rest of the chrome is nice.

The Interior looks beautiful, new seat covers and carpet, the door panels and dash are original and look like new.

Check out the pics and the deluxe Marti Report. This is an extremely rare top of the line Ford Muscle. You don't find to many of these Big Block Original Cobra's anymore. For a negotiated price I can add a Buy It Now which I can include a Ford 4 speed Top Loader, Bell Housing and Flywheel, pedals are still in the car.

Please call Tim (845)728-0428 or (845)728-6575 to discuss the car. Out of country bidders must call first.  Car is available to view before auctions end. Can store inside for a reasonable time while you arrange shipping. Car is sold with a Transferable NYS Registration (NYS does not title cars prior to 1974).

Ford to ramp up Lincoln rollout in China in bid to catch rivals

Thu, Apr 12 2018

DETROIT/BEIJING — Ford Motor Co's premium Lincoln brand plans to build as many as five new vehicles in China by 2022, according to two U.S. sources, in a move to expand sales in the world's largest vehicle market that would also blunt the impact of trade U.S.-China trade spats. Ford has said it plans to build an all-new sport utility vehicle in China by the end of 2019, however the company has not detailed future production plans for the Lincoln brand in China beyond that. "Our localization plans to support the China market are on track and will serve to further drive Lincoln's growth in China," Lincoln spokeswoman Angie Kozleski said. "Beyond that, it would be premature to discuss our future product and production plans or timing." Sources familiar with Ford's production plans told Reuters the automaker now expects to begin building the new Lincoln Aviator in China in late 2019 or early 2020, along with replacements for the MKC compact crossover and the MKZ midsize sedan, followed in 2021 by the all-new Nautilus, which replaces the Lincoln MKX crossover. A fifth model, a small coupe-like crossover, is tentatively slated for production in China in 2022, the sources said. Ford has much to lose if the war of words over trade between China and U.S. President Donald Trump escalates into a full-blown tariff war. Last year, it shipped about 80,000 vehicles to China from North America, more than half of them Lincolns to support the brand's growth. All Lincoln vehicles that Ford now sells in China are brought in from North America. Even if China does reduce its 25 percent tariff on imported vehicles - as Chinese President Xi Jinping promised on Tuesday - it is not clear that would mean a big, long-term increase in Fords and Lincolns made in U.S. factories heading to Chinese showrooms. Ford is pursuing long-range plans to build more vehicles in China to serve a market that is now roughly 60 percent larger than the U.S. market, and projected to keep growing. But it is playing catch up to hometown rival General Motors Co and German luxury brands including Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz, which have invested heavily in Chinese production in recent years as a form of insurance against trade, political and currency gyrations and to lower price points for their premium cars.

Fiat boss Elkann being mentored by... Bill Ford?

Tue, 26 Mar 2013

Fiat Chairman John Elkann has been turning to an unusual source for advice on the car business. While speaking during an interview with The Detroit News, Elkann said he often asks Bill Ford Jr. for advice on how to proceed with the turnaround at Chrysler. "It's great to have the opportunity to share this with someone like Bill, who has experienced many things and gone through many things ... especially linked to Detroit." Elkann said.
As the Agnelli family heir, Elkann has inherited a long and fruitful friendship with the Ford family. While Giovanni Agnelli built his first Fiat four years before Henry Ford created his first vehicle, it was Ford that showed Agnelli the benefits of mass production and helped pave the way for what would become the Fiat empire.
Giovanni's grandson, Gianni, helped mentor Bill Ford when he was elected chairman of Ford Motor Company. Now, Ford is returning the favor by helping Elkann navigate the automotive industry's tumultuous waters.

Concentrated ST Formula Proves Just As Potent
I'm not the jealous type... usually. But I will fully admit to being somewhat of a Pouty Polly when I read executive editor Chris Paukert's report after driving the then-new 2013 Ford Focus ST through the impossibly pretty southern French Alps region last June. I feel like a broken record saying this yet again, but hot hatchbacks hold a special place in my heart. And while I'm always giddy to drive any sort of small, turbocharged three- or five-door at home in Detroit, my jealousy was indeed piqued after hearing Paukert tell about the challenging yet breathtaking roads he encountered while driving the flamin' yellow Focus. You know, the sort of roads that, from above, look like carelessly drizzled lines of icing on the frosted Alpen caps.
Several months later, I found myself piloting a Focus ST just west of metro Detroit, pitting it head-to-head against one of Autoblog's perennial favorite cars, the Volkswagen GTI. It was fantastic - enough so that I fully stand behind my statement that in terms of balls-out performance, the Focus ST cannot be beat as far as today's front-wheel-drive hatches are concerned.
