You are bidding on (1) 1966 Ford Fairlane GTA. Original red on red car (see vin tag pic) Car was built in Georgia. Vinyl top car originally - vinyl has been removed. 60,425 shows on the odometer. Both the engine and transmission were recently rebuilt. Engine is not the original, it has a 1968 date code. Edelbrock aluminum intake. Transmission is a 1966 C6 automatic.
Ford 9 inch rear end with a 325 gear, 4 wheel drum brakes. The radiator is correct and was recently re-cored.
Car needs restoration. Rust free other than the floor boards. Carpeting & headliner have been removed. Dash pad is crack free and seats can be reupholstered. Center console is all there and crack free. All the trim is on the car, nothing missing. Also has a brand new Motorcraft battery.
Brand new Flowmaster dual exhaust system with GT manifolds.
Car runs and drives. Oil pressure is good the car runs great without issue.

Ford Recalling 70k Escape and Mariner Hybrids for cooling issue

Ford is recalling about 70,209 examples of the 2005-2008 Ford Escape Hybrid and the 2006-2008 Mercury Mariner Hybrid because the cooling pumps for their hybrid systems could fail.
According to the company's defect notice, it's possible for the original "Motor Electronics Coolant (MEC) Pump" to wear out and fail, which would could cause the hybrid system to overheat. If this happens, the vehicle goes into a safety mode that takes away most or all of its power. However, braking and steering still operate normally. After cooling down, the affected models restart normally. The company says that it's not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this problem.
Ford will begin repairing the vehicles in late October, and dealers will be installing improved, brushless pumps on the affected models at no charge to owners. If drivers had their pumps fail before this recall, they can contact Ford for a possible reimbursement. They're pretty darn similar. And yet our views are oh so different.
If you guys could read the transcripts of our editors' chat room, you'd know that we're a pretty argumentative bunch. It's always good-spirited stuff (well, usually), but when we're not obsessively covering this or that, we're usually fighting about one car being better than another. We're all enthusiasts here, and our automotive tastes run the gamut from the weird and unusual to the decidedly mainstream - we all feel strongly about specific cars in a given segment. While it usually makes for good conversation, if we're passionate enough, it can turn into a tomato-throwing showdown.

J Mays' legacy

Mays is by far not the first designer to use heritage design cues in his work.
The announcement that J Mays will be leaving his chief creative officer role at Ford Motor Company on January 1 ends a 13-year run in one of the industry's top design roles. While best known for having a hand in reborn classics like the Volkswagen New Beetle, Ford Mustang and Thunderbird (above), Mays' legacy is more complicated and nuanced than being considered the father of what is known as "retrofuturism".
