1965 Ford Fairlane 500 2 Door Coupe 347 Cid Automatic Must See! on 2040-cars
Greensburg, Pennsylvania, United States
1965 Fairlane 500 originally from North Carolina. This is not a perfect car, but it is pretty close with 71984 original miles. Interior. NEW seat covers, NEW Carpet, NEW Dash Pad. Pictures tell that story. Split bench seat up front. ($1900 invested) Exterior: Painted 8 years ago. Some minor chips and scratches no holes. Only spot that shows signs of wear are in the rt rear quarter. Small bubbles starting on the bottom behind the rear wheel. Not major, just laying it all out there. A quick re paint and you'll have a near perfect exterior. Door handles and trim are all there. Show signs of wear because they are 50 years old... ($5000 Invested) Undercarriage: SOLID SOLID SOLID. Original floor pans and trunk. SOLID FRAME RAILS> All undercoated, but all there. Engine and Tranny: Both Rebuilt less than 100 miles ago. original 289 converted to 347. Procomp Aluminum heads, roller rockers, comp cams thumper cam and lifters. KB pistons, Eagle crank and H beam rods, High rise intake polished, Holley 600 carb, KNN air cleaner, billet valve covers, high volume oil pump, king engine bearings, sealed power rings, pro products harmonic balancer. Tranny is fresh rebuild with 2500 Hughes stall converter. ($5000 Invested) Tires and rims are brand new. ($1800 Invested) I have over 12K invested in this project and my reserve is far less than that. It's funny how the 65 Fairlane was a single year design but everywhere I go, folks come up to me with a story about someone they know owned or had a 65 mustang or galaxie or even yet actually owned one of these rare Fairlanes. This one is not perfect, (8 out of 10) but it holds its own at a car show and cruise. Not a junk old car and well worth the investment. Door jams are clean, doors shut smooth. Just needs a new home. Please do not hesitate to contact me for more info and yes I am open to trades if yours is worth more than mine and it's an old muscle car or hot rod or 1950's ford pick up! Thanks, Steve 724-nine8nine-8298 |

Ford 3D-printing Mustang out of chocolate and candy for Valentine's Day
Thu, 13 Feb 2014Is your beloved in love with the new 2015 Ford Mustang? Do they like chocolate (that's a trick question - everyone likes chocolate)? Are they a bit of a futurist? Then this Hallmark holiday, you need to get them this Ford Mustang, 3D-printed in sweet, delicious chocolate.
Ford is teaming with 3D Systems' Sugar Lab in LA to produce the super-accurate pony car confections in both chocolate and sugar candy varieties. The process kicked off with a CAD rendering of the 2015 Mustang, which was then programmed into the 3D printer. After a bit of work from the machine, a four-inch long, two-inch tall Mustang was the result. Why the tieup with 3D Systems, though?
"We wanted to create something fun to show that while 3D printing made these edible Mustangs, manufacturing-level 3D printing was used in the development of Ford's all-new sports car," said Paul Susalla, Ford's supervisor of 3D printing.
MotorWeek relives '80s coupes with Dodge Daytona, Ford Escort EXP
Thu, Aug 6 2015Get ready for a wave of nostalgia and the rapid realization of the huge progress in performance cars over the last 30 years. For its latest Retro Review, MotorWeek takes a look back at two, front-wheel drive coupes from the '80s that seem to have entirely vanished from the roads today. Both the 1986 Dodge Daytona CS and the 1986.5 Ford Escort EXP were considered affordable, sporty options in their day, but the passage of time hasn't been kind to either of their specs. The Daytona certainly looks the part of a performance machine with a body that's reminiscent of other '80s coupes, like the third-gen Chevrolet Camaro. However with 146 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque from a 2.2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, acceleration wasn't exactly a strong suit. MotorWeek complained about copious torque steer, as well. The optional CS suspension upgrade package on this Daytona was apparently a nod to Carroll Shelby who was working with Dodge at the time. If anything, the Escort EXP withstands the test of time even worse. As a two-seat coupe, you might have expected Ford's engineers to really turn up the performance to fit the sporty image that the exterior conveyed. That didn't really happen, and depending on which model buyers ordered, they got either 86 horsepower with a 1.9-liter engine or the "high-output" version of that mill with 108 hp.
Ford Mustang pinball machine has supple wrist, plays by sense of smell [w/video]
Fri, 07 Feb 2014Ford didn't have anything major to show off at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show, so it seems it instead opted to have some fun - it brought a row of pinball machines to the show. Yes, pinball machines.
We originally told you about the Stern Pinball Ford Mustang machine a few days ago, and as day two of the Chicago show is a bit of a slow one, we opted to head to the show floor and get some snaps of the bank of new machines. Not surprisingly, there's plenty for the Mustang fan in each of these machines, ranging frond different models, to logos to a full model.
Take a look below for our full gallery of live shots, available up top. Then head below for our original gallery of stock images, along with a video and press release on the new machines.
