Up for auction is one very clean & straight, hard to find, original 1964 Ford Fairlane 500 V8 Sport Coupe. Original San Jose CA built car still has original black/yellow California plates from 1964 with current registration. Car has all original body panels & floors + has never had any major accidents.

Grandmas car on the outside but a beast under the hood. 2nd owner did some nice performance upgrades to this car during his 30 years of ownership with thousands in receipts. Rebuild on the 289 4V engine included slightly larger cam, complete balancing, Holley 600 carb, Ford electronic ignition, & dual exhaust. Vehicle also received an upgraded C4 automatic trans from the mid 60’s  instead of the Cruis-O-Matic cast iron unit. This car will easily smoke the tires, shifts firm & crisp, & is smooth & tight on the road. Suspension & brakes were also done recently as part of a $2,000 receipt for major service.

This Fairlane 500 Sports Coupe is nicely optioned with original 289 engine, 3 speed automatic transmission, power steering, original Ford air conditioning (not currently working), bucket seats, & center floor console. Also still has all it’s original chrome & stainless trim in very nice condition, & original spinner hubcaps.

Older repaint Wimbledon white (original color) still shines but has minor flaws, chips, & dings from years of use. Interior is in really nice condition but will need carpet & a dash cap or pad to be excellent. Seats, door panels, & headliner are in excellent condition, & car still has original radio & steering wheel.

All in all this is a hard to find, excellent driver quality Fairlane with a near flawless body & great drivability. This is a car you would just drive & enjoy, no need for a costly restoration!

Vehicle is being sold AS-IS & Where-Is, with no warranty expressed, written, or implied. Vehicle inspections are welcomed & encouraged. A $500 deposit is due within 24 hours of auction end, with full balance due in 5 calendar days of auction end. Payment is by cash or bank wire only, no checks of any kind will be accepted.

Car is being advertised locally & I can end the auction at any time. I can be reached at (626)652-2927 to discuss an immediate sale or to further discuss vehicle condition.

Ford Fiesta ST in startling track battle against Toyota GT86

Wed, 26 Jun 2013

On the surface, there's very little that the Ford Fiesta ST and Toyota GT86 (or the Scion FR-S that is sold in the US, or the largely similar Subaru BRZ) share in common. One is a hatchback with power coming from a turbocharged engine routed to the front wheels. The other is a coupe with power coming from a naturally aspirated four-cylinder boxer engine routed to the rear wheels.
Thing is, both of them are reasonably priced performance cars aimed at a similar segment of the automotive marketplace, so a comparison isn't out of the question. It is with all of this in mind that we direct you to the video below, in which the blokes from Evo pit the two manic little machines against one another on a race track. The result? Well, it can be summed up this way: Fast versus fun.
See how the track battle goes down in the video below.

Ford celebrates 1 millionth Mustang built at Flat Rock

Thu, 18 Apr 2013

Yesterday, the Ford Mustang turned 49 years old, and Ford didn't miss the opportunity to celebrate the one millionth version of the Mustang rolling off the assembly line at the Flat Rock Assembly plant. Production of the Mustang at Flat Rock coincided with the fifth-generation design launching in 2004, and the one millionth car was the car shown above, a 2014 GT convertible painted in Ruby Red.
In total, Ford has sold more than 8.5 million Mustangs since the original car went on sale, but some of the key milestones over the car's nine years at Flat Rock include the Shelby GT-H, Bullitt, Boss 302 and, of course, the 662-horsepower Shelby GT500. Scroll down for a press release celebrating Flat Rock's milestone Mustang.

And the Top Gear UK Cars of the Year for 2013 are...

Tue, 17 Dec 2013

Those loony Brits at Top Gear have named their Car of the Year, and if you're thinking it's the McLaren P1, Jaguar F-Type, Land Rover Range Rover Sport or Rolls-Royce Wraith, we're sorry to inform you that none of those Anglo automobiles earned the crown. In fact, the winner of Top Gear's most prestigious award is quite the surprise.
Of course, those cars weren't without their own awards. The P1 was the top hypercar (sorry, Porsche 918 and Ferrari LaFerrari), while the F-Type netted best convertible and the Range Rover Sport was voted SUV of the Year. Other honorable mentions included the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black and S-Class, the Porsche 911 GT3, the BMW i3 and the Ferrari 458 Speciale. The winner, though, wasn't even a high-dollar supercar. It was the Ford Fiesta ST.
Yes, the Fiesta ST beat out some off-the-wall cars like the revolutionary Volkswagen XL1 and the bonkers Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak, not to mention all the cars we listed above, to take the title of Top Gear Car of the Year. And if you've driven one, you'll completely understand why.
