Thanks for looking at my auction up for bid tonight is a car I am selling for a friend...1964 Ford Fairlane 500 Sedan. Presently I am using the car for a daily driver and it runs great. This car has had an excellent start to restoration. The following is a list of items that have already been completed...

Engine and transmission rebuilt

New seats and dash done

New exhaust system (dual exhaust)

New voltage regulator

New Battery

New fuel pump - mechanical

New fuel sending unit (although not entirely happy with how it sends the signal to the gas gauge on the dash

The car had been painted but it is my daily driver and needs a good cleaning/polishing

New plugs, wires, coil and distributor

New master cylinder and brakes done all the way around (including wheel cylinders)

Rebuilt carb

Just replaced the brushes in the generator

I know I have spent way too much money as I have spent more than $3500 on the seats and dash alone. Now is the time for someone to carry on and finish the restoration. Unfortunately I am running out of money and don't want to see this wasted. The upholstery guy scratched the car on both sides (see pics) and then went out of business. Till it was used for a daily driver it was stored in a warehouse for more than 15 years.

The body is pretty straight there is a dent in the back bumper and trim piece but as well there is a small dent in the front grill (see pics)

Things I know for sure that I would do is replace the tires and the shocks and leaf springs...they had been replaced before but they are noisy right now and the leaf springs look like they have flattened out.

I HAVE THE CLEAR TITLE SIGNED AND READY TO BE TRANSFERED TO THE NEXT OWNER

I love driving this car...the heat works great the heater ducts have just been worked on to work better on Monday! The fan is in great condition.

There is no rust through........there are a few spots of minor rust starting to bubble but not very big in size.

It has a 260 cu inch engine that purrs like a kitten. Pump the gas once and turn key and starts perfectly. I noticed too that the pics do not show a air cleaner but I have a air cleaner that is now on the car (after market)

This car gets noticed every where I drive it.

Ford jumps back in the water with marinized 6.2L V8

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

Nameplates like the Mercury Mariner and Lincoln Navigator aside, Ford hasn't offered a marine engine in over two decades. But through a new partnership with one of the biggest names in the business, the Dearborn-based automaker is dipping its proverbial toes back in the water.
Announced yesterday at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the new partnership between Ford Component Sales and Indmar Marine Engines will see the 6.2-liter V8 from the F-150 SVT Raptor and F-Series Super Duty marinized for use in boats.
The largest privately owned inboard gasoline marine engine manufacturer in the world, Indmar has been in the business for 43 years, and figures the Ford V8 will be just what watersport enthusiasts are looking for to tow waterskiers and wakeboarders to their hearts' content.

Bacon-wrapped Ford Fiesta hams it up for International Bacon Day

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

This is a bacon-wrapped Ford Fiesta. It is a real thing, that a real, multi-billion-dollar company designed. And it isn't even April Fools' Day. Designed for International Bacon Day, which is also apparently a thing, the 2014 Fiesta is finished in Green Envy paint - we're told black paint, like the color of a skillet, made the car look camouflaged - and features 10 gigantic decals depicting strips of tender, cured bacon.
The design, which was approved by the CEO of Benton's Country Hams, Allan Benton, show off the depth of Ford's Custom Graphics program. Unbelievably, Ford will actually start offering bacon decals to everyday customers, including (and we can't believe we're writing this) dual bacon racing stripes which will no doubt have Carroll Shelby spinning and/or salivating in his grave, and a "side of bacon," which wraps a couple of strips over the rear wheels.
Benton, who Ford claims is the King of Bacon, had this to say: "This car just makes so much sense." The Fiesta's marketing manager, Liz Elser added, "It's just awesome to drive down the road in a piece of bacon."

Hennessey unleashes 2015 HPE700 supercharged Ford Mustang

Sun, 05 Oct 2014

Thanks to the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat there is a new magic number in the muscle car world - 707. To raise eyebrows these days in the power war, a vehicle needs to match or preferably exceed that palindromic figure. The tuners over at Hennessey took a look at it for their 2015 HPE700 Mustang and decided to go one better. Well, ten actually, because they bestowed their latest creation with 717 horsepower and 632 pound-feet of torque.
The HPE 700 Mustang takes the standard Mustang GT with its 5.0-liter V8 and turns up the power a few hundred notches with a Roots-type supercharger running at 7.25 psi. Hennessey claims that this boosted 'Stang can rocket to 60 miles per hour in about 3.6 seconds and cover the quarter-mile in 11.2 seconds at 131 mph. For those keeping score at home, those figures are very similar to Challenger Hellcat.
To cope with all of the added boost, the engine gets a high-flow throttle body, upgraded injectors, new fuel pump, stainless steel exhaust and Hennessey's calibration for the engine management. Pricing for the package is $59,500, including the base 2015 Mustang GT, but the company is limiting production to 500 units for the 2015 model year. Founder John Hennessey told Autoblog that he has already received about a dozen orders for them.
