1963 Ford Fairlane for sale. This car is in awesome condition. I purchased it a year ago from an older guy who took very good care of this car. I'll do my best to describe it.
Paint is in great condition. Painted a year ago and it shines nicely. The car was never taken back to be properly buffed. When it gets buffed, it is going to shine like glass. The gold paint has some metal flake in it. It looks really nice. The chrome is in really good shape. It does have some very, very light pitting that can easily be cleaned off. All the moldings and emblems are in good shape. Bumpers are in good shape. All doors open and shut perfectly and are aligned very well. Radio and Antenna work(AM only). All lights, wipers, and heat work. It has the original V8 - 260 Short Block engine. Engine was refreshed two years ago. 3 speed transmission. It has dual exhaust (Flow Masters). Sounds very aggressive for a small engine. I purchased an extra grille and light bezels that I will include with the car. Interior dome light works but the plastic dome is cracked. $15 on Ebay. Headliner and seats are in mint condition. Dash is mint, no cracks. Rear deck is mint. Door panels are mint. All windows are manual and work perfectly. Engine compartment is really nice. Car has no visible rust other than the light, and I mean very light surface rust and pitting on the chrome. Car has (I believe) 14" wheels and whitewall tires. It also has fender skirts.
I love this car but I cant really keep it. I have an 83 Cutlass and I am about to purchase a 63 Impala. Don't have the space. Cutlass is completely custom so this one must go. Car is in great shape for a 50 year old car! If it does not sell, I will place a set of 20" rims on it and drop a 302 High Output engine in it. Then i will play with it for a while.
Don't let this piece of American history pass you by!

Ford Fusion production scaled back just 3 months after it was accelerated
Mon, 02 Dec 2013Three months after kicking off production of the Ford Fusion at its Flat Rock, MI factory, Ford Motor Company is taking steps to trim output in the face of heavily discounted competition from Toyota and a growing supply of vehicles.
The addition of Fusion production in Flat Rock - which also builds the Mustang - was meant to be what pushed the handsome mid-sizer past its arch-nemesis, the Toyota Camry. An extra facility building Fusions was also meant to curb the growing demand for Ford's highly profitable sedan.
But with word that Flat Rock would take "approximately" one extra week off for the holidays combined with an 88-day supply of Fusions - reportedly due in no small part to what Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas called "aggressive discounting of the Camry" - some analysts are now beginning to wonder if Ford may have overextended itself by adding a second Fusion facility to the mix.
Old vs. new debate gets new life with $25,000 Fiesta ST vs. E46 M3 showdown
Fri, 10 Jan 2014You know who you are. There's probably a few of you reading; the ones that say, "Why would I spend $27,000 on a new Mazda MX-5 when I could get a used Chevrolet Corvette with more power." Yes, we're talking to you, used car proponents. While it is a fair argument, it's not like used cars don't come with drawbacks of their own, though.
In an attempt to put this new-versus-used argument to bed once and for all, Matt Farah of the The Smoking Tire has picked up a pair of $25,000 cars - a used, but lightly modified, 2003 BMW M3 and a 2013 Ford Fiesta ST. Naturally, there's a comparison.
Farah, as he's wont to do, does get into the nitty gritty of what each car is like to drive, and discusses the merits of used and new-car shopping. But as he rightly points out while testing the M3, "So, it is a good car. But like any used car, it really does depend on the individual car."
Ford only automaker to make 2012 Buzz Rankings, Toyota most improved
Wed, 30 Jan 2013Ford landed itself a spot among the top 10 brands in the 2012 Buzz Rankings. The annual index scores 1,100 brands in 41 categories to determine which nameplates had the most positive buzz throughout the year.
For the third year in a row, Subway took the top honors overall with a score of 40.3, and Ford was the only automaker to break into the top 25 by earning a sixth-place finish overall. The manufacturer earned a score of 32.1 points, which was enough to push it up one spot from the 2011 Buzz Rankings. Honda managed 21.2 points overall, which is still well behind 25th-place Kohl's at 26.5 points. Toyota, Volkswagen and BMW all round out the top five automakers.
The 2012 Buzz Rankings also keep track of which brands improved the most over the past year, and this year, Toyota was the manufacturer with the largest leap forward. The Japanese automaker jumped from just 14 points in 2011 to 20.5 in 2012. Chrysler, Kia, Dodge and Volkswagen all saw sizable steps forward as well. Be sure to head over to the Brand Index site for more information.
