THIS IS A 1963 FORD FAIRLANE 500. IT HAS A 429 FORD ENGINE IN IT WITH A HOLLY CARBURETOR AND HEADERS, THIS ENGINE HAS HAD SOME WORK DONE ON IT  BUT I AM NOT SURE WHAT. IT IS TURQUOISE IN COLOR WITH BLACK INTERIOR. IT HAS AMERICAN RACING WHEELS WITH WINSTON WINTER GT TIRES W/FLAGS. IT HAS A AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THIS CAR HAS SOME CUSTOM WORK DONE TO IT, IT IS ONE OF A KIND, THERE ARE NO DOOR HANDLES ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE DOORS, THERE IS A BUTTON UNDER THE OUTSIDE BOTTOM OF THE DOORS THAT YOU CAN USE YOUR HAND OR FOOT TO PUSH THE BUTTON AND THE DOOR WILL OPEN, THERE IS A SWITCH UNDER THE HOOD BY THE BATTERY THAT WILL TURN THE DOOR SWITCHES ON AND OFF. THE TRUNK HAS NO KEY LOCK, THERE IS A BUTTON WHERE YOU FUEL THE CAR UP THAT YOU PUSH AND THE TRUNK WILL OPEN, THE DOOR ON AND OFF SWITCH TURNS THIS BUTTON ON AND OFF ALSO. THE HOOD HAD TO BE RAISED FOR THE 429 TO FIT AND A SCOOP FOR THE BREATHER. THE FRONT HAS A CUSTOM MOLDED BUMBER AS WELL AS THE REAR BUMPER, THE REAR BUMPER AND TAIL LIGHTS ARE ALL CUSTOM MOLDED. THIS CAR HAS BEEN RESTORED FROM THE BOTTOM UP AND HAS ONLY BEEN DRIVEN APROX. 500 MILES ON THE ENGINE AND CAR. THIS CAR RUNS, LOOKS AND HANDLES GREAT. Join Autoblog editors for a full video tour of the 2019 Detroit Auto Show

Thu, Jan 17 2019

The 2019 North American International Auto Show might have been a little more quiet than past years, but there were still some pretty major reveals, including the Toyota Supra, new Ford Explorer, Shelby GT500, Subaru WRX STI S209 and Kia Telluride. We also saw some lovely concepts like the Nissan IMs and Lexus LC Convertible. Senior Editor Alex Kierstein, Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski and Senior Green Editor John Beltz Snyder join me, Associate Editor Reese Counts — with Social Media Manager Michael Dylan Ferrara behind the camera — on a long walk through the show. We discuss cars, poke around the stands, dress a bloody wound and answer your questions in the Facebook comments. For more Detroit coverage, you can check out Autoblog's picks for the best in show, listen to our podcast or look at the best images from all the reveals. Finally, don't forget to watch Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore hand over our 2019 Technology of the Year award. Ford's Mulally makes shortlist for Microsoft CEO

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

Ford CEO Alan Mulally has made the short list to take over tech giant Microsoft, lending further credence to rumors that the 68-year-old former Boeing exec would ditch Dearborn and move to Redmond.
The report comes from Reuters, which claims that alongside Mulally, former Nokia CEO Stephen Elop and three candidates from within Microsoft are on the short list to succeed Steve Ballmer at the company's helm, although previous reports claim the Ford exec is the number one candidate. Mulally is currently working without a contract, although Bill Ford seems to believe that he isn't likely to depart. Despite this belief, Ford was quoted just last month talking about the depth of talent on the Blue Oval's executive team.
"There is no change from what we announced last November. Alan remains fully focused on continuing to make progress on our One Ford plan. We do not engage in speculation," said Ford spokesman Jay Cooney.

Why Edmunds took a sledgehammer to its 2015 Ford F-150

Tue, Jan 27 2015

The discussion around repair bills for the aluminum-bodied 2015 Ford F-150 pickup continued from the beginning of last year to the end, and haven't abated; as an aside, some Tesla Model S owners have been shocked at disquieting repair estimates for minor damage to their aluminum wunder-sedans. Edmunds decided to inject some fact into the fray: it bought a $52,000 long-term 2015 F-150 and clouted it with an eight-pound sledgehammer. Twice. The rear of the bedside took the impacts since it couldn't be replaced, it would have to be repaired. To the pickup's credit, the only reason associate editor Travis Langness hit it twice was that the first sledgehammer blow didn't do as much damage as Edmunds wanted. After the second, the visible damage included the two direct impacts, a few creases, and a cracked taillight, so they drove the pickup to Santa Monica Ford to get an estimate, complete with a fictitious story about how the damage occurred and the mercy plea that Langness was paying for the repair out-of-pocket. In Part 2 Langness hits on some of the details with getting the truck fixed, such as the massively expensive taillight and the list of tools Ford recommends dealers have to work on aluminum. But he was promised he'd have his truck back in seven days, and Santa Monica Ford got it back to him in seven days. In Part 3 we get the bill. It's not small, but it's quite a bit less than it could have been if the service manager had charged Edmunds the official labor rate for aluminum. We're not going to spoil it here, so check out the videos above and below for the beginning and the end, and head over to Edmunds for the complete story about how it all happened and some riffing on the repair numbers.
