I am the 2nd owner..  I bought it 12 years ago and had it shipped from Oregon to my home.  I drove it for a few months and then due to moving for a job change I parked it in my pole barn where it sat for a few years.  I moved it to my home in South Carolina 5 years ago and it has been sitting outside in a storage lot for the last 5 years.  The car started and drove fine 12 years ago but has not been started since.

It shows 39,000 on the odometer but I believe that the car has 139,000 miles on it. .  By sitting for 12 years and not having been driven or started I am declaring the car to be not driveable.  If you buy this car you should be prepared to trailer it home.

It's a 2-door Fairlane 500 with a 221 c.i. inch V-8 engine and automatic transmission.  The only rust is surface rust from sitting outside in SC weather.  There are no rust-through areas.  The glass is in good shape.  There is no body damage other than some minor dents.  The interior is good but will most likely have to be recovered.  The headliner is falling down.  The car is being sold as-is.

This is a complete car that needs to be restored.  See the pictures for details and email me for my phone number if you would like to talk about the car.  I have additional pictures and can email them if you contact me.

I am also selling a 260 c.i. V-8 63 Fairlane 4-door for parts and a 200 c.i. 6 cyl. 63 Fairlane 4-door that is a complete car that could be restored.  See my other ebay ads for details on these cars.

I will need a deposit via paypal within 2 days of auction end and will only accept cash when you pick up the car.

The car is for sale locally and the auction may be withdrawn if the car sells locally before auction end.

2015 Ford Mustang production starts in Flat Rock

Thu, 28 Aug 2014

Today's the day, Ford fans. Production has officially commenced on the sixth-generation 2015 Mustang at the company's Flat Rock, MI factory. As production ramps up, sales should kick off in the coming months.
The production news isn't just a bit deal for American fans. With the new Mustang getting a bespoke right-hand-drive variant, the pony car's worldwide availability has swollen to include 120 different countries, including its home nation.
"Mustang is and will continue to be an automotive icon," Joe Hinrichs, Ford's president of the Americas, said in a statement. "Expanding its availability globally affords our customers around the world the opportunity to have a true firsthand Mustang experience - one unlike any other."

Ford to update Sync, MyFord Touch software... again

Wed, 07 Aug 2013

Ford hasn't had the best luck with its MyFord Touch and Sync systems, as the finicky infotainment system has been subject to a critical whooping while customer issues have helped sink Ford's IQS scores. The automaker has made a concerted effort, though, to try and fix MyFord Touch. And while the results have been mixed, The Blue Oval is hoping its latest free update, set to go live next week, will make things better.
According to a report from The Detroit News, the new system promises streamlined voice commands with fewer levels between opening query and actual result. Ford is also addressing where certain options are selected on the touchscreen. Rather than working one of the four quadrants on the homescreen, users will be able to select anywhere within the quadrant to make adjustments.
While it might only be a band-aid for MFT's problems, the fact that Ford is still trying to improve it is a promising sign. It's going to take more than just this update to address the system's ills, though.

Mustang retakes monthly pony car sales crown from Camaro

Wed, Dec 3 2014

Going back to their origins in the Swinging '60s, the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro have been fierce rivals for fans' hearts and dollars. Historically, the Ford often led in volume, but Chevy took the muscle car top spot in 2009 upon the Camaro's rebirth. However, with the launch of the latest Blue Oval pony car, the tide is turning back in Ford's favor. November was the first full month of sales for the new 2015 Mustang, and according to TheDetroitBureau.com, the model did spectacularly well. The Blue Oval shifted 8,728 of them, up 62 percent from same month last year, with the automaker proclaiming it the model's best November sales since 2006. Conversely, 4,385 units of the Camaro were delivered, down 13.5 percent year-over-year, meaning its sales were roughly half that of the new-generation Mustang. Ford is understandably happy with the results, and product development director Raj Nair even hinted to TDB that another version of the Mustang might be unveiled at January's North American International Auto Show. Rumor has it that the model will be the even more potent Shelby Mustang GT350R. Despite the Mustang's November success, the Camaro outsells it year to day. So far in 2014, Ford has sold 73,124 Mustangs versus 79,669 examples of the Camaro. With December offering the last chance for an overtake, the Bowtie may yet remain king for this year's sales crown. A new Camaro is peeking over the horizon, as well. It's reportedly moving to the Alpha platform used by the Cadillac ATS, and production could start in late 2015. Prototypes are already testing at the Nurburgring, and camouflaged examples have been spotted weirdly being compared to its '80s forefather.
