1960 Ford Fairlane 500. Complete professional restoration from top to bottom.  Not many, if any have been restored to this degree. This is a multi show winning vehicle and has had numerous concourse show invitations. This Ford Fairlane 500 was originally from a dry southern mid west area. It has been completely stripped to a bare body shell and soda blasted prior to refinishing. It has been refinished in the original color of 'Adriatic Green', with a contrasting white top. The paint quality is flawless and this is a laser straight body. All the stainless body trim is either n.o.s or has been professionally polished. Most ornamentation is n.o.s and reproduction.  Chrome plating is all show chrome. Front bumper however is original.

Vehicle is equipped with the original 223 Mileage Maker 6 cylinder engine. All internal and external parts have been replaced, rebuilt or are new. No details were overlooked for longevity and reliability. Engine starts instantly and is incredibly smooth. It is also equipped with power brakes and a 3 speed manual transmission with overdrive delivering an amazing 25+ highway fuel mileage. Car has been carefully driven aprox. 1800 wonderful miles since recent restoration.

Most suspension parts have been replaced. New exhaust system with a n.o.s muffler. All underside components have been refinished.  New brakes, brake hardware, hoses, lines, shocks, wheel bearings, wheel cylinders, etc. etc. Tires are a radial type that have been custom made through Diamond Back Classic tires.

Interior fabrics and vinyl are n.o.s. including the headliner. Door panels are original. Door seals, window seals/felts, trunk and windshield seals are new including all rubber underhood and trunk items. All convenience options are in perfect working order including the speedometer, clock, heater, and radio all of which have been restored as well.

There has been a tremendous amount of attention and time given to this restoration regarding quality, fit, finish, detail and longevity. Nothing overlooked including the correct placement of the factory chalk marks and instruction decals. This is truly a show vehicle and I am confident you will not be dissapointed. I am responsible for restoring this car back to it's former glory, and proud to offer this iconic 1960 Ford Fairlane 500 for sale.  International bidders welcome.

Watch this awesome R/C car chase scene made with cardboard and glue

Fri, 22 Feb 2013

It never ceases to amaze us how much video production talent you can find on YouTube, especially when considering movies like Battleship actually exist on the silver screen. It's even better, of course, when cars are involved, which is why we can't stop watching this car chase between a pair of radio controlled Ford Mustangs.
Racing through a detailed set built in the middle of a public street using just "cardboard, hot glue and spray paint," this video is possibly even greater than The Greatest R/C Car Chase Ever that we saw last year. With the exception of a fruit stand and/or a plate-glass window being carried across the street, this has all the makings of a classic cliché chase scene.
Scroll down to watch the scaled-down action ensue as well as the full-scale conclusion.

Ford F-150 Tremor to pace NASCAR Truck Series this weekend

Wed, 14 Aug 2013

Ford's bro-tastic F-150 Tremor will be pacing this weekend's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Michigan International Speedway. The Tremor fills a gap in the Ford F-Series lineup that we imagine the NASCAR set have clamored for - a hot-rod pickup truck.
Where the F-150 Raptor is designed to go quick on anything, the Tremor and its 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 are designed to tackle the road. The 365-horsepower and 420-pound-foot EcoBoost is unchanged from the rest of the F-150 line, but it combines the shortest drive ratio with the lightest two-door body, making it a bit of hot rod.
Ford will be offering hot laps with Michigan native Brad Keselowski behind the wheel of the Tremor for fans that arrive in the Irish Hills on August 14. The main showing for the new pickup will be the August 17 race, though, when it'll lead the field at the start of the race and through cautions.

Alan Mulally talks about why Ford's Falcon had to die

Tue, 20 Aug 2013

When Ford made the decision to end production of the Falcon sedan and Territory CUV in Australia, it wasn't a popular move Down Under. The large, four-door Falcon had been in production for 50 years, and while Ford has reaffirmed its commitment to the Australian market, it's understandable that some people still aren't all that crazy about the Blue Oval's decision.
Speaking to CEO Alan Mulally after Ford's Go Further event in Sydney, Australian site Go Auto reports that the decision was not one made lightly, and that the automaker is doing everything possible to respect the Falcon and Territory's "stakeholders." It's an interesting piece that shows a softer side of a corporation, while demonstrating that Ford is doing everything in its power to make the end of production as smooth as possible for all parties.
Head over to Go Auto for the full series of remarks from Mulally, and then let us know what you think of Ford's handling of the Falcon and Territory discontinuations, in Comments.
