This is an all original Ford. All the doors ,trunk, and hood open and close and are VERY solid. All the exterior lights are in 100% working order. The dash is in great shape and has all the knobs. Everything functions on the dash except the clock and temp gauge. The car runs and drives great with no issues. All windows operate and all glass is in great condition. Tires are brand new. Upholstery and headliner are nice. One small tear in headliner above drivers seat. All the paint is original. The white paint is faded mainly from being waxed and could use a repaint. The bottom paint is in descent shape. Does not appear to ever had any body work. All the emblems and chrome trim are on the car as well. There is only one small rust spot that we could find on the car and there is a picture of that. This Ford HAS NOT BEEN TOUCHED, it's a completely original car. It still has the original inspection sticker on the door jam! The hardest part about restoring a car is dealing with someone's failed "Frankenstein" project. The doors close like a dream, the hood fits perfectly and it always starts right up! This car is ready to be driven and can be used AS-IS. Ford demonstrates Mustang's new Line Lock burnout feature
Tue, 22 Apr 2014Been saving your pennies for a 2015 Ford Mustang? Put in a few extra shifts or some overtime? Got a great down payment ready? Well, however much you saved for your new pony car, start saving more - you'll need the extra money to spend on tires.
That's because the Mustang will come with a system called Line Lock, which can lock the front brakes electronically, allowing drivers to perform big, dumb, smoky burnouts without moving so much as an inch. It's sort of like launch control, only the average driver might actually use it.
Now, line locks aren't uncommon, particularly in drag racing. Usually, a flip of the switch locks the front brakes. The Mustang, besides offering the system from the factory which is unique in and of itself, looks a bit more involved.
Ford to auction Mustang Cobra Jet prototype for charity [w/video]
Mon, 16 Sep 2013Prototypes developed by major automakers typically remain in said company's custody, but every once in a while, one trickles out into private hands. And that's just what we have here. Ford is donating a one-of-a-kind factory prototype for the 2014 Mustang Cobra Jet that will be auctioned off later this month by Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Powered by a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 mated to a T4 competition gearbox, this rare Cobra Jet prototype includes a wheelie bar, chromoly roll cage, Weld wheels, three-link rear suspension, racing brakes, 9-inch rear axle and more. It's painted in a unique satin orange with reflective gray striping scheme, bears the serial number 2014 BJMS CJXX1 and is fully ready for NHRA competition on the drag strip.
To be offered with no reserve on Saturday, September 28, 2013, the Cobra Jet prototype's winning bidder will also receive tutelage at Roy Hill's Drag Racing School in Sophia, NC, along with tours of the Ford Product Development Center, Ford Racing headquarters and Ford Design Studios with Mustang chief engineer Dave Pericak. Ford exec reveals new F-150 Raptor packs 450 horsepower
Mon, Jan 26 2015Between the new GT supercar, Shelby GT350R muscle car and F-150 Raptor off-roader, Ford had quite the array of performance machinery on display at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this month. One thing it didn't reveal about any of the three, however, is how much power they'd pack, but a senior executive at the Blue Oval automaker has reportedly let the cat out of the bag when it comes to the Raptor. During a televised interview during the Rolex 24 at Daytona this past weekend, Ford's product development chief Raj Nair is said to have revealed that the new F-150 Raptor will offer 450 horsepower. That's pretty impressive from a 3.5-liter turbocharged V6, and would put the new Raptor out ahead of the 411 hp produced by the 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 in the previous SVT Raptor. That doesn't give us the whole picture, though, because in a vehicle this big especially, torque will play a huge factor. The outgoing Raptor offered 424 pound-feet of twist, and the existing 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine is already producing 420 lb-ft – so it seems fairly safe to assume the new Raptor will eclipse those figures as well, but we'll have to wait for official word to find out for sure.
