1956 Ford Victoria 2dr Hardtop Bermuda Blue & Colonial White Restored on 2040-cars
Lakeview, Arkansas, United States
WE ARE OFFERING FOR SALE OUR BERMUDA BLUE AND COLONIAL WHITE 1956 FORD VICTORIA 2DR HARDTOP. THIS IS A GOOD CAR THAT LOOKS GREAT, RUNS SUPER, DRIVES AND HANDLES GOOD TOO. THE CAR WAS MADE IN DALLAS AND HAS SPENT MOST OF ITS LIFE IN THE SOUTHERN MISSOURI AREA. I HAVE BEEN THROUGH THIS CAR FROM TOP TO BOTTOM AND BACK TO FRONT. I HAVE REPAIRED WHAT WAS NEEDED AND REPLACED MANY PARTS. IT HAS GOOD PAINT AND A STRAIGHT BODY. IT SHIFTS EASY AND HAS A GOOD CLUTCH, PRESSURE PLATE AND THROW OUT BEARING. IT HAS GOOD INTERIOR, CARPET AND HEADLINER. I HAVE DETAILED THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND TRUNK BY BRINGING IT BACK TO A NEW ORIGINAL LOOK. I INSTALLED A NEW HOOD BIRD, NEW DOOR HANDLES, DOOR SILL PLATES, NEW WINDOW ANTI-RATTLERS, NEW WHEEL CYLINDERS, A COUPLE OF BRAKE LINES, NEW SET OF HOOD RUBBERS, NEW TOP COWL RUBBER, NEW TRUNK MAT AND HAVE TUNED UP THE 292 ENGINE. ALL THE GLASS IS GOOD. THE FRONT WINDSHIELD HAS A WIPER SCRATCH ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS A KIT SOLD THAT WILL REMOVE THESE SCRATCHES? IT HAS A LOT OF POWER AND STARTS UP FAST...HOT OR COLD. IT HAS NO OIL LEAKS. I HAVE ALSO ADDED A RARE RADIATOR AIR DEFLECTOR THAT DIRECTS THE AIR THROUGH THE RADIATOR THAT WILL ALLOW THE ENGINE TO RUN COOLER WHEN THE HOOD IS CLOSED. THIS ENGINE RUNS "COOL"! IT HAS A GOOD SET OF W-W-W TIRES THAT HAVE APPROX 5000 MILES ON THEM. I PUT A GOOD 670 X 15 TIRE IN THE CONTINENTAL KIT FOR THE SPARE. THE CONTINENTAL KITS WERE ADDED TO THESE CARS TO MAKE THEM LOOK GOOD AND TO PROVIDE MORE ROOM IN THE TRUNK. NOT PICTURED IS A BRAND NEW 2 TON HYD. JACK AND 4 WAY LUG WRENCH THAT WILL GO WITH THE CAR. CARS WITH CONTINENTAL KITS ADDED CANNOT BE JACKED UP BY THE BACK OF THE CAR WITH THE JACK ORIGINAL TO THE CAR. THE CONTINENTAL KIT IS THE GOOD ONE THAT FLIPS TO THE SIDE EASILY TO ALLOW ENTRANCE TO THE TRUNK AND HAS THE STAINLESS RING. THE STAINLESS ON THE CAR IS NICE WITH ONLY A COUPLE OF DIMPLES ON THE TOP AND BOTTOM PIECES THAT GO AROUND THE BACK WINDOW. ALL THE LIGHTS, TURN SIGNALS, HORN, WIPERS AND SPEEDOMETER WORK. RADIO DOESN'T. THE FENDER SKIRTS ON THIS CAR ARE THE ORIGINAL FACTORY SKIRTS NOT AFTER MARKET ONES. THE DUAL GLASS PACKS SOUND GREAT! THE BACK AND FRONT BUMPERS ALONG WITH THE BUMPER GUARDS HAVE BEEN RE-CHROMED. THIS CAR HAS A SUPER NICE "NEW" GRILL IN IT AND THE ORIGINAL TURN SIGNAL HOUSINGS. THE STEERING BOX AND FRONT END IS TIGHT AND IT STEERS EASILY. THIS IS NOT A PERFECT CAR BUT IT IS ONE YOU CAN TAKE TO A CAR SHOW AND GET A TROPHY AND A LOT OF COMPLIMENTS. YOU CAN ALSO DRIVE IT ANYWHERE. THIS IS PROBABLY THE PRETTIEST '56 VIC I HAVE EVER OWNED. I HAVE PROBABLY FORGOTTEN SOMETHING, SO PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS THROUGH EMAIL OR GIVE ME A CALL AT 870-431-5107. I HAVE BEEN A LONG TIME MEMBER OF THE CVA AND HAVE OWNED SEVERAL OTHER '56 FORDS. I HAVE THIS CAR PRICED REASONABLE, NOT LIKE SOME I HAVE SEEN LATELY.
I WILL REQUIRE A $500.00 DEPOSIT THROUGH PAYPAL AND THE REST OF THE MONEY THROUGH A BANK TO BANK TRANSFER OR IN CASH. I WILL WORK WITH FOREIGN BUYERS AND HAVE EXPERIENCE SELLING '56 FORDS OVERSEAS IN THE PAST. |

Ford sells 7-millionth Explorer in America
Mon, 17 Nov 2014Say what you will about the evolution of the Ford Explorer, from roofed Ranger to body-on-frame sport utility vehicle to unibody crossover - the bottom line is that it's been a tremendously successful model for Ford. In fact, the Blue Oval automaker has sold seven million Explorer models in the United States alone.
The milestone, marked nearly a quarter-century after the introduction of the original in 1990, comes on the eve of the introduction of a new Explorer at the Los Angeles Auto Show this week. We don't yet know how the new Explorer will shape up, but we're mere days away from finding out.
Now heading into its sixth generation, the Explorer has formed the basis of Ford's utility lineup for over two decades. The Explorer landed on the market right around the time that the Bronco was trailing off, predating the company's expansion into larger SUVs like the Expedition and Excursion and crossovers like the Escape, Edge and Flex.
GM readying aluminum-body fullsize pickups
Wed, 19 Feb 2014Ford's extensive use of aluminum in its 2015 F-150 is a big deal. A really big deal. Big enough, in fact, that General Motors is reportedly changing its fullsize pickup strategy. According to The Wall Street Journal, The General has locked in partnerships with Alcoa Inc. and Novelis Inc. - companies that will supply aluminum for the next-generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks.
"Ford's introduction of the 2015 F-150 pickup truck was a game changer, and it's the first, not the last, conversion of this type," Novelis spokesperson Charles Belbin told the Journal. The switch to aluminum has allowed Ford to shave roughly 700 pounds off its fullsize truck's curb weight. And while official mileage ratings have not been announced, the weight loss should go a long way for improving efficiency, especially when combined other efficiency-minded improvements including better aerodynamics and new, turbocharged V6 engines.
Of course, aluminum-bodied cars are nothing new. But extensive use of aluminum in a major, best-selling product like the Ford F-150 is expected to kick off widespread use of this weight-saving material as availability rises and cost decreases. The WSJ reports that GM had originally explored the idea of moving to aluminum pickups back in 2008, but abandoned the idea due to cost concerns amid economic woes.
Poor headlights cause 40 cars to miss IIHS Top Safety Pick rating
Mon, Aug 6 2018Over the past few months, we've noticed a number of cars and SUVs that have come incredibly close to earning one of the IIHS's highest accolades, the Top Safety Pick rating. They have great crash test scores and solid automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning systems. What trips them up is headlights. That got us wondering, how many vehicles are there that are coming up short because they don't have headlights that meet the organization's criteria for an "Acceptable" or "Good" rating. This is a revision made after 2017, a year in which headlights weren't factored in for this specific award. This is also why why some vehicles, such as the Ford F-150, might have had the award last year, but have lost it for this year. We reached out to someone at IIHS to find out. He responded with the following car models. Depending on how you count, a whopping 40 models crash well enough to receive the rating, but don't get it because their headlights are either "Poor" or "Marginal." We say depending on how you count because the IIHS actual counts truck body styles differently, and the Infiniti Q70 is a special case. Apparently the version of the Q70 that has good headlights doesn't have adequate forward collision prevention technology. And the one that has good forward collision tech doesn't have good enough headlights. We've provided the entire list of vehicles below in alphabetical order. Interestingly, it seems the Volkswagen Group is having the most difficulty providing good headlights with its otherwise safe cars. It had the most models on the list at 9 split between Audi and Volkswagen. GM is next in line with 7 models. It is worth noting again that though these vehicles have subpar headlights and don't quite earn Top Safety Pick awards, that doesn't mean they're unsafe. They all score well enough in crash testing and forward collision prevention that they would get the coveted award if the lights were better.
