Up for bid, Beautiful 1955 Ford Fairlane Victoria 2dr Hardtop. Original 272ci V8 4bbl Carb, Fordomatic Transmission, Factory Power steering. Very Solid Rust Free Car, Has spent its life on the West Coast out of harsh elements and salted roads. The odometer shows 56k miles, The previous owner (owned for 20years) stated these were the actual miles on the car, And judging by the condition of the interior it looks to be true. The car has had one repaint in the 80's it was repainted the factory color, And still shows nice to this day. The original 272ci v8 runs great with plenty of power and no hesitation. The fordomatic shifts nice and firm. This car runs and drives like new! Car is very easy and comfortable to drive. It has been converted to 12volt for reliability. There are a few minor imperfections with the car. The headliner has some water stains near the sun visors (see pic) The temp gauge doesn't seem to read accurate, The radio doesn't function, And the trans has a minor leak. Overall this is a nice car, It is a true unmolested survivor, It's Turn key, and can be driven anywhere. Shelby Mustang stars with Ethan Hawke, Selena Gomez in Getaway movie
Thu, 06 Jun 2013Car movies. We keep watching them, they keep making them. Despite Fast & Furious 6 still blowing up the box office (No. 1 in theaters for the second straight week) and production on Transformers 4 being well underway (check out the Bugatti Veyron and Corvette Stingray as new cast members), there's still room on the marquee for more car movies. Next one up is an Ethan Hawke joint called Getaway, which prominently co-stars a Ford Shelby GT500. The first trailer for Getaway, which opens in theaters on August 30, was released yesterday and can be watched below.
The movie's plot centers around Hawke's character, former race car driver Brent Magna, who must somehow use this car, what appears to be a generation-old Shelby GT500 Super Snake he "commandeered," to save his wife. The movie's third co-star is Selena Gomez, whose character we're told is the owner of said Shelby. A 20-year-old having a car like this seems a bit far-fetched - especially in Europe - and on paper, this plot looks like it cribs liberally from Charlie Sheen's 1994 The Chase. But all we've got to go on is a brief plot description and the trailer below, so we'll withhold judgment until the studio firmly has our ticket money in its grasp.
The Shelby GT500 is, of course, no stranger to acting. Before this jump to celluloid, the most fearsome of all Mustang models starred in the return of Knight Rider to television on NBC back in 2008. That gig didn't pan out for the car, the show lasting only one season and 17 episodes. In fact, with its casting in Getaway, the Shelby GT500 is one of the few actors who escaped that debacle with a future in show biz.

Mulally will stay close to Ford after he steps down, plans to advise Fields [w/video]
Fri, 27 Jun 2014Ford CEO Alan Mulally has less than a week left in his role of leading the Blue Oval before he hands off duties to Mark Fields on July 1. It doesn't look like Mulally is going to be shuffling off into his retirement anytime soon, though. The 68-year-old is being rather secretive about his next move, but he tells Bloomberg in a recent interview that he plans to stay close to Ford. Also, if Fields wants to ask for any advice, Mulally is happy to help.
Mulally took over at Ford in 2006 and led the company through a seriously rough patch in the auto industry. According to Bloomberg, he became famous or his Thursday meetings where executives were forced to deal with any problems before they could leave. Since announcing his retirement from Ford in May, Mulally has been insuring a smooth transition of power by traveling the world to all of company's major locations and saying goodbye to employees and dealers.
In terms of the future at Ford, Mulally doesn't predict any big changes in management style because the rest of the executive team is staying in place. He believes that Fields is going to maintain the processes already in place to keep things going. After all, it seems to be working. The company is predicting a return to profitability in Europe next year and is opening 88 new dealers in China. If the business could get its recalls under control, things could get even better.
