1955 FORD FAIRLANE
THIS IS AN EXCEPTIONAL CAR FOR BEING 58 YEARS OLD ! I GUESS THIS COULD BE CONSIDERED A RESTOMOD. I DID NOT BUILD THIS CAR, I GOT IT JUST THE WAY IT IS. THE ORIGINAL ENGINE WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH A 1985 MUSTANG "GT" 5.0 AND THE MATCHING 5-SPEED TRANSMISSION. THIS APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN A COMPLETE ENGINE WITH ALL ACCESSORIES, POWER STEERING, A/C, AND MODERN ALTERNATOR. SERPINTINE BELT, AND MUSTANG HEADERS.
THE CAR DRIVES REALLY GOOD! THE ENGINE HAS PLENTY OF POWER AND THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS SMOOTHLY. THE UNDER-DASH AC BLOWS COLD, HAS A CD PLAYER IN THE GLOVE BOX. THE SPEEDOMETER AND MILEAGE BOTH WORK, HOWEVER THE 13-K MILES IS PROBLEY NOT THE ORIGINAL MILES AND SHOULD NOT BE RELIED UPON! ALL THE LIGHTS WORK AS THEY SHOULD, THE WIPERS WORK, FUEL GUAGE APPEARS ACCURATE.
THE CAR LOOKS VERY FACTORY FROM THE OUTSIDE, NO REAL MODIFICATIONS VISIBLE, WHEN YOU LOOK UNDER THE HOOD THATS WHEN IT IS CLEAR THIS IS NOT YOUR AVERAGE 55 FORD ! ENGINE IDLES GREAT AND IS VERY RESPONSIVE, DOES NOT OVERHEAT! THE DRIVETRAIN UPGRADE LOOKS AND DRIVES AS IF IT WAS DONE PROFESSIONALLY ! !
THE PAINT AND INTERIOR ARE NOT PERFECT AND DOES SHOW SOME WEAR, GOOD DRIVER QUALITY ! THE COSMETICS COULD BE IMPROVED UPON BUT THE DRIVETRAIN IS SOLID! I WOULD'NT BE AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR ANYWHERE! ANY QUESTIONS CALL..........

Mustang-themed pinball game debuting in Chicago [w/video]
Wed, 05 Feb 2014Believe it or not, but new pinball machines are still being made. Chicago-based Stern Pinball still makes them and has found a niche selling modern machines to individual buyers and arcade distributors. For its latest cabinet, Stern partnered with Ford to create a pinball game that pays homage to the 50th anniversary of the Mustang, including the next generation. The new machine is being unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show on February 6 and goes on sale in March.
Stern is offering the machine in three variants. The pro-level machine is meant for arcades and public spaces and retails for $4,995. All of them come with background and cabinet art by Camilo Pardo, who designed the Ford GT, and Top Gear USA host Tanner Foust is the game's announcer. Depending on where players shoot the ball, they activate events that simulate drag racing, rallying, drifting and racing the Mustang, and hitting targets lets players shift the gears up and down.
An upgraded, premium table with added art will be added later for pinball machine collectors. The third model is a signed, special edition with art of the 1965 Mustang and 2015 Mustang on the machine and chrome and Mustang badges on the speaker grilles. Prices for these editions will be announced later.
Ford and Chrysler reducing summer plant shutdowns
Wed, 22 May 2013Most domestic automaker assembly plants traditionally take a couple of weeks off during the summer. The shutdowns give each plant time for much needed repairs and maintenance, and in some cases, help better align production with demand. Not this year, though, as demand for many models is outstripping what Ford, Chrysler and General Motors plants can produce.
Ford has announced that it will shorten its annual summer shutdown for most North American plants from two weeks to one. The shorter shutdown will increase the carmaker's annual North American production by 40,000 units on top of the 200,000 extra units that it was already planning to produce this year versus last. Automotive News reports that Ford produced 2.8 million vehicles on this continent in 2012, and that output this year has already increased 13 percent through April.
Chrysler, meanwhile, is also operating at full tilt and plans to run some plants through the summer with no shutdown at all. Those not getting a break include Jefferson North where the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango are assembled, Toledo North that will assemble the new Cherokee, and Conner Avenue, home of SRT Viper production. Other assembly plants will be down for a single week, while all of Chrysler's engine and transmission plants except one in Indiana will continue operating with no shutdown this summer.
Ford hiring 2,200 salaried US workers this year
Fri, 11 Jan 2013With its influx of popular new products made in the US, Ford Motor Company has announced that it intends to hire 2,200 new salaried workers domestically this year. This is the biggest increase of salaried workers for Ford in the last 10 years, and it is all a part of Ford's contract commitment to the United Auto Workers union to bring 12,000 new jobs to the US by 2015.
There were no specifics as to where in the US these job openings will be, but Ford did reiterate that it will be spending $773 million on equipment upgrades and capacity expansion at six plants located in southeast Michigan; as a whole, Ford is investing a total of $6.2 billion to its US assembly plants over the next couple years. According to recently appointed president of the Americas Joe Hinrichs, the new jobs will be focused on areas such as engineering, manufacturing and computer software. Ford will post its job openings online at careers.ford.com, and it will also use social media sites like Facebook and Twitter to recruit new workers, including military veterans.
