Removed Reserve! 1979 Camaro Hot Rod - Hot Custom Efi Tunnel Ram Injection!!! on 2040-cars
Cocoa Beach, Florida, United States
UPDATE: REMOVED RESERVE - NO RESERVE with 1 DAY LEFT! I have over twice the amount invested in this than the listing price! YOUTUBE VIDEO OF ENGINE RUNNING HERE:
PLEASE READ COMPLETELY BEFORE BIDDING This is a car that is 95% plus complete on the build and restoration. Straight body, interior is new and complete, the engine is all there, just needs the new MSD ignition hooked up to the megasquirt EFI brain (it's in the car and just needs to be wired in) and to be tuned. It has aluminum heads, roller rockers, new cam, and the intake is a tunnel ram custom fitted with 8 procomp EFI injector bodies with velocity stacks controlled by a megasquirt brain (almost $5k just in the custom EFI intake and electronics). The short block had between 3k to 5k miles on it when I bought the car and was told it was a 300hp crate motor. Turbo 350 tranny, newly rebuilt 373 10 bolt rear. New springs, shocks, brakes, brake lines, drums and disks, (everything looks new underneath and inside the car) new tires on 17" SS Cragar wheels, new side pipe exhaust, new stainless steel dash with all new gauges, including toggle EFI fuel pump switch and button start, new billet/wood steering wheel. Paint looks decent but is 10 years old (some scratches and cracks here and there) black with a hint of red metal flake. It does come with a steel hood with I believe a 4" cowl, but will still need to be cut to fit the custom EFI intake and injector unit. I hate to sell this car before it's complete, but I lost my job and I need living expense money. I am not a mechanic either, so I won't be able to answer a lot of the technical questions as I paid to have the work that was done to it. I will try and answer any general questions though. As a note, we did have the engine running (see video) with the EFI and it had a miss/pop or something in it and I was told they thought it was the cheap Chinese ignition we had and it was bugged, so I just spent almost $600 on an MSD package that included the box, coil, distributor and wires and have that on the car now, but it's not yet tied into the EFI brain as I have no clue how. So it has all of the parts installed and ready to run, no need to buy anything else to complete the car mechanically. Oh on the intake, the guy who built this actually builds custom intakes and injector units for all sorts of different cars and his work has been featured in magazines, so it is a quality custom build. The buyer will be responsible for shipping or local pick up in Cocoa Beach, FL. 32931 zip. Low listing price compared to what I have invested in this car as I need to sell it for living expenses. This is a really cool car, especially for the price. Someone is going to be very happy to get a nearly completed project that will be so much fun to drive and a major head turner when done! Good luck and happy bidding. |

Ford will keep Escape and MKC plant open an extra week to meet demand
Thu, Jun 8 2017Crossovers keep selling like popular pastries, and for Ford, that means it needs to keep production going. The company announced that, rather than the usual two-week shutdown, its Louisville, Ky., assembly plant will be open for one of those weeks. The plant builds the Ford Escape and Lincoln MKC, which Ford reports have had record sales. According to Ford, Escape sales through May are up 3 percent, and MKC sales are up 10 percent compared with last year. In total, the Escape has sold about 130,000 units through May, and the MKC has sold around 11,000. Keeping the Louisville plant open will allow the company to build an additional 8,500 vehicles. Ford stated that all other assembly plants will continue with the two-week shutdown as scheduled. How the Ford Shelby Mustang came to be
Fri, 20 Sep 2013Even as rumors swirl that the next-generation of high-performance Ford Mustang will drop the Shelby name, Ford has released a short video telling how the legend of the Shelby Mustang came to be. In its latest installment of its video series entitled Mustang Countdown, Ford dug up some footage from Carroll Shelby to give a little insight into how this automotive icon was created.
While it's definitely interesting to hear the late legend tell the story in his own words (including numerous references to the 1964 Mustang as a "secretary's car"), it's also pretty funny learning exactly how the Shelby GT350 got its name in the first place - a name allegedly making a comeback as the replacement for the current Shelby GT500. As development work continues on the 2015 Ford Mustang, the Shelby video posted below shows that the automaker is always looking at its past - even as it looks ahead to the future.
McLaren, Koenigsegg, Toyota, Ford, Dodge and Corvette Lego kits announced for 2021
Tue, May 4 2021Lego has announced a slew of car-themed sets for 2021. The six kits comprise nine vehicles and fall under the brick pusher's Speed Champion line of official OEM-licensed kits. News of their arrival comes from German toy retailer JB Spielwaren's pre-order listings, which show three single-car sets and three dual-car sets of matched marques. Starting with the McLaren Elva roadster, the kit consists of 263 pieces and is finished in blue. It seems to have a difficult time capturing the curves of the real-life Elva, but there's only so much you can do with a bunch of plastic blocks. Lego has made several other McLaren kits before, including the Senna, 720S, and a more advanced Senna GTR for the Technics line. Next up is the Koenigsegg Jesko, made up of 280 pieces and finished in white. Though the real-life Jesko is still curvy, this kit does a better job of replicating its aggressive maw, vents and cantilevered rear wing. Rounding out the single-car sets is the 299-piece Toyota GR Supra in yellow. This marks the first time Toyota has lent their license to Lego. Again, it struggles a bit to represent the curvy Supra, relying on printed details like logos and headlights to identify. On the other hand, the Chevrolet two-car does a stupendous job with the 1968 Corvette. The C3 is instantly recognizable as such. The C8-R race car it's paired with suffers from the same issues as some of the previous cars, though. The set contains 512 pieces, and funnily enough the C8 driver has short hair while the C3 driver sports a period-correct wavy mane. The next set is a 627-piece Mopar-themed pair, including a purple (Plum Crazy?) 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A and an SRT top fuel dragster. The race car is spot on, but the Challenger was probably tough to make given the width restrictions. It looks a couple of pegs too narrow compared to the wide proportions of the real deal. Last but not least, the Ford set contains a Bronco R and Ford GT Heritage Edition. Consisting of 660 pieces, the set does an excellent job of representing both cars. The GT looks faithful in its Gulf livery, and the Bronco R looks more like a real Bronco than the actual Bronco R race truck. All in all, it's always fun to see more Lego sets with real cars, and we're glad to see more manufacturers added to the roster. The single-car sets are recommended for ages 7 and up, while the double-car sets have an 8 years and up rating. Price in U.S.
