Up for sale is a 2007 Ford F-450 XL with a 12' Straight bed. This truck is features the 6.0L Diesel V8 and also is equipped with an Automatic Transmission and the 4 Wheel Drive Drivetrain. The miles are currently just over 111k and it really shows that this truck was very well maintained. The motor and transmission have tons of power run extremely smooth, which is how they should be since they are barely broken in at these miles. The body of the truck is in Very Good condition, and doesn't have any big dings, dents, scratches, or anything of that sort. The underbody looks as if it has been undercoated in its past, along with the bed, so everything is in very nice shape. The interior does have the standard F450 features, which include A/C, Bench Seat, AM/FM Radio, Auxiliary Switches, Trailer Break Controls, etc.. The straight bed of the truck doesn't look like it was used much, and comes with the roller straps on each side that also look like they were barely used. Everything is overall in very nice shape.

The truck is also equipped with the Fisher Minute Mount 8' Straight Blade Snow Plow. This is also in extremely nice shape as you can tell, and doesn't look like it did that much snow removal. Does come with the handheld Fisher FishStik Plow Controller for easy use in the cab. Everything works as it should, everything has been tested with it, fluid checked, etc..

Overall it is a very nice truck, and is ready for work. I wouldn't hesitate jumping in it and driving across the country. It really is that nice of a truck. If you made a trip to come see it you would not be disappointed at all.

We are pricing this truck to sell, so do not miss out on your opportunity to own it, because it will not last long!

Ford reveals EcoBoost-powered Riley prototype for Daytona 24

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

It's not the first time Ford has participated in the Daytona Prototype class as an engine supplier, but in revealing this new EcoBoost V6-powered Riley Technologies prototype for the new United SportsCar Championship, Ford is making a statement: "We want to show Ford EcoBoost's capabilities as an engine that provides both performance and fuel economy, on and off the track," says Jamie Allison, director of Ford Racing.
In addition to supplying the 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6, Ford had its production designer Garen Nicoghosian give the racecar brand-inspired design cues with support from Ford Racing chief aerodynamicist Bernie Marcus.
The car is scheduled to compete at next year's Rolex 24 at Daytona on January 25-26, but before that, Michael Shank Racing is working with Ford at another goal. Driving his Ford Thunderbird, NASCAR champion Bill Elliott set the track's top speed record at 210.364 miles per hour during a qualifying run for the Daytona 500 - way back in 1987 -- and Ford thinks it's about time for that record to fall. What better time the introduction of this new Ford-powered Daytona Prototype? Michael Shank Racing plans to use the twin-turbo V6-powered racer to beat Elliott's record, and it expects to begin prepping for the top-speed run on October 9. Scroll down for the full press release below on Ford's latest race effort.

Shelby Cobra, Mercedes 300SL and 1947 Woodie from Petersen Museum headed to auction

Mon, 29 Jul 2013

The changes happening at the Petersen Museum have been making the rounds in major press, but it probably won't be until August 18, during Pebble Beach, when we get the full story on what's happening; that's where and when museum reps plan on announcing the way forward for the SoCal institution. In the meantime, the museum is still reorganizing its collection, and that means auctioning some of its showpieces at this weekend's Auctions America event in Burbank.
Three of the stars are a 1964 Shelby Cobra 289, one of less than 20 produced with a three-speed C-4 automatic transmission, a 1960 Mercedes-Benz 300SL owned by actor Robert Stack and the last 1948 Ford Sportsman 'Woodie' ever produced. The Cobra, now restored to its original white exterior and red leather interior, was a factory demonstrator that first sold for $5,250. Showing just 38,950 miles on the odometer, its pre-sale estimate is $800,000 to $1 million.
The 300SL is actually a 1957 model but wasn't titled until Robert Stack took possession in 1960. The lead actor in the The Untouchables TV series used to drive by the Sunset Boulevard Mercedes dealership to ogle the car, but couldn't justify spending the money to buy it. When he and the producer of The Untouchables won Emmys for the show, the producer, who happened to be Desi Arnaz, bought the car for Stack. He owned it his whole life, it has been left as Stack drove it and still bears the California license plate "UNTCHBL."

Honda poised for growth, Detroit to hold steady, Car Wars study says

Fri, Jun 5 2015

The automotive industry is expected to keep booming in the US over the next several years, but the train might start running out of steam in the long term, according to 2015's Car Wars report from Bank of America Merrill Lynch analyst John Murphy. The forecast focuses on changes between the 2016 and 2019 model years, and the latest trends appear similar in some cases to the past predictions. Sales are expected to keep growing and reach a peak of 20 million in 2018, according to the Detroit Free Press. The expansion is projected to come from a quick pace of vehicle launches, with an average of 48 introductions a year – 26 percent more than in 1996. Crossovers are expected to make up a third of these, maintaining their strong popularity. However, Murphy predicts a decline, as well. By 2025, total sales could fall to around 15 million units. As of May 2015, the seasonally adjusted annual rate for this year stands at 17.71 million. Like last year, Honda is predicted to be a big winner in the future thanks to products like the next-gen Civic. "Honda should be the biggest market share gainer," Murphy said when presenting the report, according to Free Press. Meanwhile, in a situation similar to Car Wars from 2012, a lack of many new vehicles is expected to cause a drop for Hyundai, Kia, and Nissan. Based on this forecast, Ford, General Motors, and FCA US will all generally maintain market share for the coming years. The report does make some future product predictions, though. The next Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra might come in 2019, which is earlier than expected. Also, Lincoln could get a Mustang-based coupe for 2017, a compact sedan for 2018 and an Explorer-based model in 2019, according to the Free Press.
