EBay does not show a listing for F-550 that is why this is under F-450, but it is F-550. 2005, 4x4, 6.0 Power Stroke diesel with 12' flatbed. It is from the South and has never seen an Ohio Winter. It is absolutely spotless with no rust of any kind anywhere. The truck has 198k miles on it, the engine has 133k miles. The truck runs, drives, and shifts perfectly and needs nothing. The 4 wheel drive, hubs, t-case everything works perfectly. Truck has never had a plow on it. Engine work: Approx 8k miles ago the heads were machined flat, new Ford head gaskets installed, ARP head studs, new oil cooler, EGR delete, dummy plugs, stand pipes, IPR o-rings, STC fitting, injector o-rings, coolant filter added with new CAT spec coolant, and new T-stat. I'm probably forgetting a thing or 2. It was gone through and all typical fixes done to make this bulletproof and a very reliable work truck. The turbo has approx 80k miles on it. The injectors were replaced with Allaint Power remans 8k miles ago, too. The FICM is a Swamp's 58v rebuilt unit 8k miles ago, too, and has the 80 hp PHP tune. The flatbed stake body is 12' long, has removable sides, and has tool boxes on both sides, all in excellent condition. The truck is 84" cab to axle with 4:88 gears. Tires are decent - they are not perfect and are not bald. They can be used to get you going for sure. The interior is in excellent shape, which is very unusual for an older work truck with 200k miles. The seat was totally trashed when I got it and I found a very reasonably priced tan seat for it. You can throw a seat cover on it if you want, I didn't so you can see it's a near new seat in great condition. Who cares what color it is, it's in a work truck! The truck is for sale locally here in North East Ohio, so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Contact me via email, phone or text with questions or to come see and drive. You will not be disappointed whatsoever with this super clean, bulletproof 6.0 Powerstroke diesel truck. 216-twothreefive-4060. |

Ford announces two recalls, 442k vehicles affected in North America
Wed, May 27 2015Ford is announcing two recalls for North American that affect a total of 442,300 vehicles and multiple model lines. The larger campaign covers the possibility of electric power steering systems that can fail in the 2011-2013 Ford Flex, Taurus, Lincoln MKS, and MKT; the 2011-2012 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ; and the 2011 Mercury Milan. This recall affects 422,814 vehicles in North America, including 393,622 in the United States, 25,195 in Canada, and 3,997 in Mexico. According to the company, an intermittent electrical connection can cause the power steering to cut out, although manual steering would still work. Ford knows of four minor accidents from this issue, but there are no injuries. Depending on trouble codes from the vehicle, dealers will either upgrade software for the power steering control module or replace the steering gear. The second recall covers 19,486 examples of the 2015 Ford Mustang with the 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a production date between February 14, 2014, and February 10, 2015 at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant. Specifically, there are 19,095 of these in the US and 391 in Canada. These pony cars can show elevated underbody temperatures, which can lead to degradation of the fuel tank, fuel vapor lines, and parking brake cable seals. There are no reports of accidents, injuries or fires from this, though. To fix things, dealers will install a better-insulated fuel tank shield, add thermal patches around the tank and parking brake cable, and put thermal wraps around the fuel vapor lines. You can read the specific build dates and locations for the models affected by the power steering issue in Ford's press release below the video. 2015 Ford F-150 spied in the rain
Mon, 10 Jun 2013Standing as quite a contrast from the spy shots of the 2015 Ford Mustang we saw earlier today, our spies also sent along these pictures of the next-generation F-150 pickup out testing in its (heavily camouflaged) full prototype body. Much of the new truck's design is hidden under the bulky coveralls, but we expect a lot of its new lines to be inspired by the Atlas concept that debuted at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.
Perhaps the biggest unknown surrounding the new F-150 is what, exactly, its body will be made of. Earlier reports have suggested that lightweight aluminum materials may be used throughout, offering a serious reduction in weight versus previous models. But Ford engineers will need to be careful, though, as they need to keep a tight rein on costs while preserving class-competitive (if not class-leading) towing and payload capacity.
On the powertrain front, the new F-150 will undoubtedly carry on with EcoBoost engines, and we'd bet on a normally aspirated V8 as well. A diesel option hasn't been confirmed, but we wouldn't be surprised to see one some time in the truck's lifecycle. Mum's the word on when the production F-150 will be revealed, but our best guess is that we'll see it at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.
Your official Ford Transit specs are here, $29,565* to start
Wed, 04 Jun 2014Ford has released the full list of pricing and specs on its new Transit, the replacement for the long-lived E-Series cargo van. Prices are set to start at $29,565 and can increase rapidly from there, depending on length, engine and wheelbase, among other options.
Let's talk first about those new engines. The base is the familiar 3.7-liter, naturally aspirated V6. It boasts 275 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque and can return up to 14 miles per gallon in the city and 19 mpg on the highway. This engine can also be adapted to run on LPG or compressed natural gas. Of course, there are better alternatives, for a price, the first of which is Ford's well-received, 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. It packs 310 hp and a best-in-class 400 lb-ft of torque (available at just 2,500 rpm) while matching the naturally aspirated engine in both city and highway fuel economy.
Then, there's the diesel. With a 3.2-liter, five-cylinder diesel mill at its disposal, the Transit generates 350 lb-ft between 1,500 and 2,500 rpm, along with 185 hp. This engine hasn't been rated by the EPA, although we'd be really, really surprised if it didn't handily best either of the gas-powered engines in fuel efficiency. A six-speed automatic is standard, regardless of engine.
