Low Reserve Bullet Proof Super Duty Fx4 Crewcab Turbodiesel 400+ Hp & 800+ Lb/ft on 2040-cars
Woodbridge, Virginia, United States
CARFAX available - I can email it to you.
Partial trades considered if high bid is below reserve. One of the best condition Super Duty trucks on the market - and the price is right! This truck is FAST, POWERFUL, and COMFORTABLE! This truck also has a 5-Year, 100,000 mile powertrain WARRANTY and the balance will transfer to the new owner!!! There is 85,000 miles and almost three years left on this WARRANTY! Engine replaced by previous owner less than 45,000 miles ago! Previous owner re-used old fuel injectors, so I had the 6.0 Doctor at True Performance Diesel in Colonial Heights, Virginia upgrade ALL the injectors and the control module. I also spared no expense and had the 6.0 Doctor completely BULLETPROOF this engine! See the list below! True Performance Diesel is the PREMIER Powerstroke expert in the mid-Atlantic region and specializes on the 6.0. The doctor stated that my engine was one of the cleanest 6.0s he's ever seen! I have receipts to show that the oil has been changed in this truck 4 times in the 17,000 miles I've owned it - this truck is WELL MAINTAINED!! UPGRADES include: - ARP head studs and gaskets (the original head bolts are a well-known weak point on the 6.0) - BULLETPROOF EGR Cooler (allows EGR bypass or regular operation for emissions) - Thermostatically controlled oil cooler (keeps hardest working oil in diesel nice and cool) - 155 cc injectors (supports 450+ HP) - Tuned 58V FICM (matched to injectors) - SCT Tuner with Custom Economy, Street, and Towing tunes (only tuner that allows EGR bypass without check engine light) - Digital gauges - allow you to customize your view of many important engine stats - Upgraded oil rail plugs - Upgraded STC fitting - Upgraded fuel pressure regulator - Recondition turbo A dealer truck won't have any of these! I've also installed four 295/70 Nitto Terra Grappler All Terrains on 18-inch Monster XD wheels - $2000 wheels and tires with at least 80% tread left. Truck includes front and rear heavy duty floor mats, not pictured to show exceptional condition of carpet. So why am I selling this superbly equipped brute? I originally bought it with the intention of pulling a 5th wheel camper/toy hauler, but that never materialized. And now due to a pending medical discharge from active duty military service, I need to downsize. Wife wants a low mileage family sedan, I'd like to buy a pre-1980 Ford Crewcab. Who will win? I don't particularly want to sell it, and I will not give it away. But I understand I can't expect to get back close to what I have in it: $17,000 purchase $3600 warranty $2000 wheels and tires $10,000 engine upgrades $600 alternator ---------- $33,200 total I know I won't recoup that "investment". My LOW RESERVE PRICE for this truck is comparable to a dealer price. However, a dealer truck will have higher mileage, no WARRANTY and won't be BULLETPROOF! Contact me ASAP with any questions so I can get you a timely response! Happy Bidding! |

Road & Track names its 2013 Performance Car of the Year
Thu, 14 Nov 2013Road & Track recently staged its first annual Performance Car of the Year test, pitting 13 new and updated performance cars against each other on track, then graduating the top six to a road test before picking a winner. Additionally, the magazine staff picked the best automobiles of the year in eight categories.
But first, let's cover the PCotY segment. Here's the list of cars brought to the comparison test: Audi R8 V10 Plus; BMW 435i; BMW M6 Competition Package; Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51; Ferrari F12 Berlinetta; Ford Fiesta ST; Jaguar F-Type V8 S; Jaguar XFR-S; Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S-Model Wagon; Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series; Mini John Cooper Works GP; Nissan GT-R Track Edition; and Porsche Cayman S.
To find out the results of the comparison, head over to Road & Track's website or check the press release below, where you'll also find the magazine's top-rated vehicles in eight categories. Want more? Head over to the 2013 PCotY hub. But before you do that, take a stab at guessing the winner of PCotY (we'll give you one hint: it isn't a Porsche).
Ford announces first non-pursuit-rated police car ever
Wed, 18 Sep 2013Ford announced its first non-pursuit-rated Police Interceptor ever, based on the Taurus, which employs the smaller 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine in place of similar pursuit-rated Police Interceptors powered by naturally aspirated 3.5-liter and 3.7-liter V6s and the top-spec 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. Officially called the Special Service Police sedan, the car was commissioned at the request of law-enforcement agencies that desire a more fuel-efficient vehicle for detectives, administrators and campus police, who don't necessarily need pursuit-rated vehicles.
The 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine produces 240 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque, but more importantly, it allows the SSP sedan to achieve somewhere in the neighborhood of 22 miles per gallon city and 32 mpg highway, which are the civilian 2.0-liter Taurus' official EPA ratings. Ford estimates that the SSP sedan will get 20 mpg city, 30 mpg highway and 23 mpg combined, with the help of Active Grille Shutters that open to allow more cooling air through to the radiator, or close to optimize aerodynamics and fuel economy. Those numbers compare favorably to the discontinued Crown Victoria-based Interceptor's 14 mpg city and 21 mpg highway and the newer Taurus-based cars equipped with V6s, the most fuel efficient of which gets 18 mpg city and 26 mpg highway.
If it was driven 90,000 miles over the course of three years, a 2.0-liter SSP sedan would save law enforcement agencies $5,042.92 versus the Crown Vic, Ford estimates. The EPA is expected to post official fuel-economy numbers for the SSP sedan in December. Until then, read the press release below for more information.
Ford profits soar as problems mount
Mon, 19 Aug 2013Ford is doing well. It can't make enough examples of its new Fusion, it can barely make enough of the aging F-150, it's getting good brand rankings, people like its turnaround story, it's selling oodles of product and its quarterly profit numbers end in the word "billion." As other high-flying examples have demonstrated over the past few years, though, big numbers can come with problems that aren't exactly small.
Automotive News has published a good "nutshell" report of Ford's progress and problems. The Dearborn automaker's optimistic "general label rule" determination of gas mileage for the C-Max Hybrid has led to lawsuits, hybrid software updates, a downward revision of C-Max fuel economy and millions in rebates. AN notes the C-Max was the "worst-scoring model in this year's J.D. Power Initial Quality Study," but Ford will probably be happy that it managed not to be mentioned further in the study's results after last year's mediocre showing. Its MyTouch and SYNC systems, the bugbears sabotaging Ford's J.D. Power results, have also led to lawsuits, software updates, more software updates and a center console rethink. On top of that, the 1.6-liter EcoBoost in the 2013 Ford Escape that Ford called a "hero" was soon catching fire for three different reasons. And let's not even get into the troubled launch of the Lincoln MKZ.
The Automotive News piece notes that industry observers have been surprised at Ford's stumbles because everything has been looking so good. Nevertheless, there is still the issue of those billions in profits - the company is doing plenty of things, plural, right. Ford says it is tackling its problems, hiring engineers and instituting new quality control processes as part of its effort to find solutions. The test will be to see if in a year from now we begin the discussion of these issues with "Remember when Ford...", or "Problems continue at The Blue Oval."
