Ford F350 Western Hauler Dually 4x4 on 2040-cars
Twentynine Palms, California, United States
This is a well maintained great truck. The interior shows wear, but no rips or tears. Absolutely nothing out of the ordinary for a 20 year old truck, but everything does work. I'm sure I missed some things, but overall I think I have it covered. My reserve is low and very reasonable for this truck in it's condition. Anyone with less than than 5 feedback items, must contact me prior or I will delete your bid. Anyone with any lack of payment feedback will be deleted. Don't bid if you don't have the money in hand. I'm not going to wait for anyone to obtain financing. If you'd like to come see the truck prior to bidding contact me through eBay. I will need a nonrefundable $500.00 deposit immediately after auction ends. I do have the truck for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. No shipping or delivery provided. I can meet you at Palm Springs airport. On Jul-16-14 at 14:23:32 PDT, seller added the following information: Roof skin in back 1/3 has areas where original application of bondo to cab extension panel has deteriorated, cracked and come loose. (See photos above) Materials list for do it yourself is approx $300 and body shop quoted $1200. Has no effect on structural integrity. On Jul-16-14 at 17:00:47 PDT, seller added the following information: 6 Toyo A/T tires have 5,000 miles since new. The truck was originally ordered without A/C. An entirely new, OEM system was purchased from Ford and installed in June 2013 and in May 2014, had a vacuum pulled on system and recharged.....it blows cold. A blown head gasket in May 2014 resulted in me sending both heads to a professional machine shop in Palm Springs and having them rebuilt and reinstalled with Victor Reinz multi-layer steel, cylinder to head gaskets; new plugs, wires, radiator and thermostat installed at same time. Replaced all 4 shocks with Rancho 7000 series in April 2014 as well as clutch slave cylinder. I added an Alpine Bluetooth/Tuner/CD/aux jack for Ipod/Iphone, player...6 x 5.25 Alpine speakers in front doors and Pioneer 6 x 9's in rear side panel; sounds incredible. There are 4-5 rust bubbles in rear cab section, on rockers, under burgundy paint. Rear Passenger side window does not roll down, all others function as new. I was planning on keeping the truck and re-powering it with a Cummins 12 valve; plans have changed and as it is an extra dually around the place, now for sale. The only issues with the truck were identified and repaired or I have listed them, to the best of my ability, above. Truck runs, rides, and pulls fantastic. |

Bill Ford op-ed argues we can't just build and sell more of the same cars
Thu, 10 Jul 2014It's hardly a secret that the auto industry is undergoing an enormous, tectonic shift in the way it thinks, builds cars and does business. Between alternative forms of energy, a renewed focus on low curb weights and aerodynamic bodies, the advent of driverless and autonomous cars and the need to reduce the our impact on the environment, it's very likely that the car that's built 10 years down the line will be scarcely recognizable when parked next to the car from 10 years ago.
Few people are as able to explain the industry's many upcoming changes and challenges as clearly as William Clay Ford, Jr., better known as Bill Ford. The 57-year-old currently sits as the executive chairman of the company his great-grandfather, Henry Ford, founded over 110 years ago.
In an op-ed piece in The Wall Street Journal (subscription required), Ford explains that the role of automakers is, necessarily, going to change to suit the needs of the future world. That means changing the view of not just the automobile, but the automaker. As Ford explains it, automakers will "move from being just car and truck manufacturers to become personal-mobility companies."
As US exports top 2 million, is America becoming the world's source of cheap cars?
Mon, Feb 9 2015North American auto production is booming with 2014 figures just shy of the of the 17.3-million vehicle record set in 2000. With more models being built on the continent, even more are being shipped overseas. Factories in the US exported 2.1 million cars last year – the highest number ever. About half of those went to Canada and Mexico, but more than ever have been heading to places like the Middle East and China. The upswing comes in part from from after-effects from the Great Recession, according to The Wall Street Journal. With a weak dollar and lower production costs after the financial crisis, building vehicles in the US was relatively cheaper and more competitive in the world. At the same time buyers around the world are going crazy for crossovers. According to the WSJ, BMW and Mercedes-Benz are already exporting the majority of their US production of these models overseas. Both automakers have also announced investments to expand production further here to send more vehicles abroad. Even Honda has been shipping more models out of the country than it imported here. There is a concern this international strength could start slowing because the dollar is strengthening against other currencies, though it's too early to know what the actual effect of this could be, according to the WSJ. "Of course, we closely watch currency exchange, but we don't make changes in production or allocation based on temporary fluctuations in the exchange rate," Ford North American boss Joe Hinrichs told the newspaper. Ford profiles surprisingly affluent Focus ST buyers
Fri, 08 Nov 2013It comes as no surprise when Ford says that 32-percent of Focus ST buyers are under 35, but we weren't expecting this: the average annual salary of Focus ST buyers is $127,000. Twenty-two percent of non-ST Focus buyers are under 35, while their average annual salary is $67,000.
We like the Focus ST because it has 252 horsepower, is genuinely fun to drive and offers great value for performance-minded car enthusiasts; facts that are not lost on customers, it seems. Ford says that the Focus ST has the highest percentage of conquest sales for a non-hybrid model it sells, and that the top-four trade-ins are from Honda, Chevrolet, Mazda and Toyota. Demand for the hot Focus is strongest in Los Angeles, Detroit, Houston and Orlando.
"[The Focus ST is] having this kind of halo effect for other vehicles we'd hoped for when we invested in the ST brand," says John Felice, vice president of US marketing, sales and service, because it's helping to boost sales of other Ford vehicles.
