7.3 Liter F350 Ford 2wd Long Bed With Lot's Of Heart Left on 2040-cars
Townsend, Georgia, United States
This has been the best truck I have owned. Very dependable transportation. Less than 500 miles on new tires. Replaced the ball joints and drag link in 2011. Fresh motor craft batteries warranted through Ford. New stalk on column for wipers and turn signal. New gearshift stalk on column for Overdrive. I took this truck to the Bozard Ford dealership before I purchased it and was told there was full power available and recommended that the Drag link and ball joints be replaced and I did that maintenance just after I purchased it at 260,000 miles. I used the truck to pull my BMW show car every summer which was no real work for this super truck. I raised the front end up 2" to get the stance level across the running boards. Goes down the road straight. I have really treated this truck with respect and for its age, I would get in it now and drive to Walla Walla Washington then to Bangor Maine and back. Someone will get a great truck which is willing to pull anything. Does not smoke unless you floor it on the on the "on-ramps" which is typical. Does not leak anything. The Int'l 7.3's are notorious for 750,000 miles! Transmission shifts perfectly. The bed was replaced in 2012 with a 2012 model because the right rear tire spun the tread off at 70 miles an hour and peeled the whole truck side off the bed. The bed was brand new purchased from a utility truck builder that sells brand new "take-off" beds on ebay. Uses no oil between oil changes and when you pull the dipstick, you see clean clear oil, not black ink which is common on some turbo-charged diesels. There is nothing that I am aware of that needs attention other than the wiper motor. I replaced it a year ago with a remanufactured unit but should have used an OEM new unit and it has stopped working again. (The NAPA wiper motor warranty expired two weeks ago) The wiper motor can be replaced in 30 minutes. I no longer need a truck this size and am purchasing a Ford Ranger. Truck is offered for sale locally, I reserve the right to end the auction early if sold locally.THIS IS A NO-RESERVE AUCTION, HIGH BIDDER GETS THIS REALLY NICE LOOKING, DEPENDABLE TRUCK! Good Luck!! I can be reached @ 912-321-8012 between 8:00 AM-8:00 PM Eastern.

Major Alexa deal will bring Amazon services into more cars
Wed, Jan 9 2019Amazon and its personal assistance service Alexa are partnering with HERE Technologies to create a new connected mobility service powerhouse. Alexa will integrate with HERE's navigation and location services to offer what the two companies are calling a "true voice-first-navigation experience." Alexa will come pre-integrated with HERE navigation on-demand, which the automakers can then enable, which should help cut down on development time. One of the biggest features from this partnership is how directions could be offered and delivered using HERE's Open Location Platform (OLP). Currently, the OLP uses data from several car manufacturers to provide insights into real-time location and traffic. But on Alexa, this could be used to provide directional context. For example, Alexa could say, "Turn right after [such-and-such a building]" rather than just, "Turn right." Amazon has been testing the automotive waters throughout the past decade. Its home-based Alexa-enabled devices are already offered with connections to several manufacturers. To various degrees of integration, it can already pair with Ford, Genesis, Toyota, Lexus, Hyundai and BMW vehicles. At the end of 2018, Amazon took things a step further when it introduced the Echo Auto, a Bluetooth-connected Alexa assistant device that can be physically kept in a car. Currently only available by invitation (its production and distribution have been delayed), the $25 device is essentially a voice service that works together with smartphones and connects to a car's speakers. Users can command it to do a variety of things, including playing music, setting navigation, opening the garage door, finding local stores, making calls, setting reminders, and thousands of other "skills." According to The Verge, nearly 1 million people have already ordered the device. Some (well, probably few) may know HERE Technologies from its maps on Windows Phones. We all know how that turned out, though. Today, HERE has expanded into a multi-function suite that is available in multiple mediums, including many automotive applications. HERE Automotive's connected vehicle services include real-time traffic, parking, weather, fuel prices, hazard warnings, traffic sign integration, and even EV charging stations. These all incorporate and extend the use of HERE's location and tracking programming. HERE is already partnered with BMW, Audi, Daimler, Intel, Mobileye, NVIDIA, and has investments from Bosch, Continental and Pioneer.
Inside Ford's high-tech climate chamber
Sat, Dec 27 2014There are two ways an automaker can test its vehicles in extreme climates: it can send said vehicle around the world – from Death Valley to the Arctic Circle – in search of the harshest weather, or it can recreate those conditions in an enclosed environment. We're sure that many automakers undertake some combination of both, but in this latest video clip, Ford shows us around inside it's state-of-the-art climate chamber. At its Driveability Test Facility in Allen Park, MI – inaugurated in 2010 just across the street from the Roush Technology Center – Ford can simulate all sorts of extreme conditions. It can drop the temperature down to -40 degrees Fahrenheit or raise it up to 130, and take it up to a simulated 12,000 feet above sea level or drop it down to 280 feet below. blast it with 150-mile-per-hour winds. It can control the level of humidity, approximate the intensity of the sun and even blast the test vehicle with artificial snow, just like your favorite ski resort. The facility strikes us as an engineering feat as impressive as some of the vehicles it's used to test, but don't take our word for it – scope it out for yourself in this brief two-minute video clip, which even includes some helpful tips for winter driving this holiday season and beyond. Toyota hangs on to title of world's largest automaker for first half of 2013
Fri, 26 Jul 2013General Motors and Ford can have all the success they please, but it doesn't seem like America's two largest manufacturers are going to topple Toyota in the first half of 2013. According to Reuters, Toyota moved 4.91 million vehicles in the first six months of 2013, representing a 1.1-percent drop from the same period in 2012.
GM is on the rise, though, with a four-percent increase in global sales, to 4.85 million. Volkswagen, still sitting in third, saw a 5.5-percent jump to 4.7 million vehicles in the first half of 2013.
If this pace continues for Toyota, it'll finish 2013 in the top sales spot for the second year in a row. The manufacturer fell to third, behind GM and VW, in 2011 after earthquakes and tsunamis ravaged its production capacity.
