1985 Ford F-350
We have here a real piece of the americana landscape of the us, ne of the very early working mans truck here. We operated this truck for aprox. 10 yrs in our landscaping business, auling trash, irewood, umber, ulling trailers, ulch, eaves, tc. We have decided to sell the truck to a new owner, nd it was not an easy decision, s we were working on a full restoration of this truck but only partially finished the restore as you will see in the pics and description below.1985 Ford F35, 1,000 G.V.W., riginal four wheel drive, riginal dual rear wheels 16.5", nbsp;9ft. stake dump body, to dump hoist (non electric), olid rust free frame without holes from rust, ccident free since our ownershi, riginal 4 speed manual transmission with creeper gear, on original 7.3 liter 1993 diesel engine (non power stroke), he story/history on this truck is that we became #3 owner in the mid 1990s, ts original color blu, L interior, .9 liter diesel have since been remodified/replace, s we removed all the electric windows and locks inside and went to manual, he bench seat is re upohlstered from velure fabric to blue vinyl with a tear since, he truck was repainted twice in the 20 yrs since we owned it, he last time it was painted its current colors was feb. 2006, he white stripe you see is painted and not vinyl and this paint still looks exceptionally well considering we only drove it 2 months with new paint and parked it then in 2006. The amount of money we paid for the body work at that time was $3500.00, nd that consisted of replaced drivers door, eatherstripping inside door jams on both sides, rand new insulated floor mat from door to door, rivers side fender, ood, river side rocker panel and more all because we did not want any bondo/plastic filler in this truck at the time and keep it all meta, hortly after painting the truck in 2006 we parked the truck and everything on it worked fine other than the speedometer cable(broken) and have not driven it on the road since that time. This trucks engine was upgrade in early 2000s to a 7.3 liter 1993 international non power stroke engine., s we hired a shop to install the 7.3 engine in the truck. We had the rea, rear rebuilt in the early 2000s. This truck does not currently run but can and will need to be gone over, ew inspection must be done by new owner, nd the stake body floor wood part of the bed must be replaced the side stake pockets and we have the original stake sides for the back as well, he steel sissor hoist from the piston to the bed was completly replaced with heavier channel than original in early 2000s. This truck will still need some mechanical work on the diesel engine before road worthy again, nd the body as well INCLUDING: FLOOR REPAIR, AB MOUNT, EW BATTERIES, OME ENGINE MAINT/REPAIR, MECHANIC?, LEMISHES MILEAGE IS UNCERTAIN AS THE SPEEDOMETER CABLE IS NOT WORKING, LEASE IGNORE THE 9,000,000 IN THE LISTING FORMAT stake bed etc. The hood latch does not close. but I must say, verall you have a complete truck with most parts OEM, amp; you will be hard pressed to find a 30 year old truck of this year, f this make, f these componets, T ALL, NYWHERE ON THE PLANET, hat is complete like this F350 here, nd it was my true pride in joy truck and am having a hard time parting with it, ut finally made the decision to do just that with a really rare find here. You will see parts missing and we more than likely have most of those parts and will collect all parts that go along with this truck to the new owner. We also purchased a western uni mount plow that we bought in 1999 brand new, nd only used this truck in the winter of 1999-2000 for a single snow event and never used it again, e still have the truck wired and a plow frame up front as we are not including the plow, rame or plow, r any of the wiring with the sale of this 1985 f350 truck here, nd all those snow equipt parts will be removed from the truck prior to pick up from the buyer at the end of this auction here. We will have all that snow equiptment removed from this truck and available for sale outside this auction here??.When we parked this truck everything worked on it but the speedometer cable was broken and was not keeping the miles accurately. We are not a state inspection garage here only backyard mechanics but have owned ford trucks for 30 yrs. so if there are any questions you have about the truck please ask prior to the end of aucton The new owner of this truck will have to have this truck towed from our location to its new home, s the F350 truck is currently in non working order and being sold "AS IS CONDITION"ATTENTION ALL INTERESTED & SERIOUS BUYERS!!!!! IF YOU WISH TO SEE THIS TRUCK IN PERSON

Ford Explorer Jackson Pollock Edition results in trip to hospital
Tue, 02 Jul 2013Among the many useful pieces of driving advice we've taken to heart over the years, "Safely secure all cargo" is etched pretty high on our personal stone tablets. We've had a couple of frustrating moments over the years (numerous wonky cupholders and too-tall lidded cups; a radar detector that released its suction cups and dashed itself below the dashboard, etc.), but never anything like the scene above.
These photos above come courtesy of the Washington State Patrol, and they show the unfortunate aftermath of a driver, his dog, and his Ford Explorer after it crashed near the town of Belfair last week. According to reports, the man was schlepping five-gallon containers of paint inside his vehicle when he was involved in an unexplained accident. It's not clear what triggered the crash, but the impromptu abstract painting covered the whole of the interior, including the driver and his faithful companion.
The man was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries, and his dog was cleaned and later taken to a humane society.
Is that the Ford GT Le Mans racer in the background of this Forza video?
Mon, Jan 26 2015Shortly after the reveal of the new Ford GT in Detroit a couple of weeks ago, Microsoft announced that it was putting the new American supercar on the cover of the upcoming sixth installment of the Forza Motorsport video game series. Now it has put out a video of the process of digitizing Dearborn's latest. Whether you're into Detroit steel (or carbon fiber and aluminum in this case), exotic supercars or video games, the video is worth a watch in and of itself. But our eyes were focused on something else. In the background of one shot (around the 1:49 mark) you can see a design board with renderings of what looks to be the rumored racing version of the GT – complete with reshaped air intakes, deeper side sills, a bigger rear wing and a central rear fin like you'd find on the latest LMP1 racing prototypes. It wouldn't be the first time we've caught wind of the prospect of the Blue Oval's new supercar going racing. We first heard of the plans last October, further reinforced in December with reports of the new GT coming to Detroit. And as we reported just a couple of weeks ago following the supercar's reveal, a return to Le Mans could be in the cards – which would be fortuitous timing, since next year will mark the 50th anniversary of the original GT40 scoring its landmark 1-2-3 finish in the 24-hour race.
Ford to revisit CVTs?
Thu, Dec 11 2014Today, Ford wishes its first experience with non-hybrid continuously variable transmissions was far behind it. The Blue Oval was awash in complaints and a couple of class-action lawsuits over the CVTs used in its 2005-2007 Ford Freestyle, Five Hundred and Mercury Montego models, which were a manufactured in Batavia, Ohio as part of a joint venture with ZF. The company gave up on the CVT after just two years, but with fuel economy standards pressing automakers to conjure new tricks, Ford's global product development head, Raj Nair, is now saying the transmissions might make a return, "particularly in the low torque applications," says Automotive News. An obvious candidate for CVT consideration is the 1.0-liter Fiesta that can presently only be had with a five-speed manual. Beyond that, the company's 1.6-liter and 2.0-liter four-cylinder engines might fit the bill. Ford hasn't given any indication as to what vehicles it might use to reintroduce the CVT to the US market, or hints about timeline or who would develop it, however. Some CVT trivia: The 1990 Subaru Justy II was the first US passenger car offered with a continuously variable transmission - Subaru called it the ECVT. It handled gearing duties for a 1.2-liter, inline three-cylinder engine that got all of 70 horsepower. A contemporary blurb about the car begins with "Goodness, gracious, great gobs of gimmickry," and goes on to say that "We can't imagine where you would take this car for repairs, but we are certain that the one mechanic in the world who can fix it lives in a very expensive house." The transmission didn't win any fans, but the ECVT and the car have been largely forgotten, while Subaru played the long game and now you'll find its vastly improved Lineartronic CVT on six of the eight models it sells.
