The 2014 Ford F-350 Super Duty is America's most capable Pickup. Its tested-tough powertrains - that are designed, engineered and built by Ford - enable the F-350 Super Duty to give you a class-leading fuel economy, plus the best horsepower and torque. It's ready to get the job done when no one else can, thanks to its best-in-class maximum towing and payload capacities. In addition, the 2014 now features the new F-350 PLATINUM. No wonder the F-Series has been America's best-selling truck for 36 years. The Ford F-350 has several awe inspiring maximum capabilities and among them are the truck's towing capacity. This Super Duty has 5th-Wheel Towing of up to 23,200 lbs., and conventional towing of up to 18,500 lbs. Next is the truck's payload of up to 7,260 lbs., a GCWR of 33,000 lbs., and the GVWR of 14,000 lbs. These amazing capabilities reveal the workhorse this truck truly is. The 6.7L Power Stroke V8 Turbo Diesel - designed, engineered and built by Ford - gives you a best-in-class 400 hp and a massive 800 lb.-ft torque. That is certainly a game-changing combination. Along with the Diesel engine, the Gas option is built to impress as well. As the standard engine, the free-breathing 6.2L V8 is a state-of-the-art Ford-built powerhouse that generates best-in-class 385 hp and 405 lb.-ft. of torque. This workhorse also conquers most any terrain. The truck's class-exclusive Hill Descent Control helps Super Duty increase your off-road confidence by maintaining the truck's speed on steep declines, so you can concentrate on maneuvering. A durable coil-spring front suspension is part of the heavy-duty, independent Twin-I-Beam setup on 4x2s and a rugged twin-coil monobeam setup on 4x4s. The Ford F350 goes beyond Heavy Duty this truck is Super Duty.

Ford looks back on 50 years of the Mustang in Detroit
Tue, 14 Jan 2014Ford has something special sitting in its booth here at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. In fact, it brought two special somethings in the form of the Ford Mustang 1 Concept that first saw the light of day in 1962 and the very first production Mustang that rolled off the production line in 1964.
These classic creations are sharing floor space with the brand-new 2014 Mustang in honor of the pony car's 50th Anniversary. Since Ford's latest 'Stang already made its auto show debut (at a number of locations, including Los Angeles), we think it's pretty cool that the Blue Oval did something special for its home-town show.
Check out both the Mustang 1 Concept and first production 1964.5 Mustang above and below.
Performance CNG wants to crowdfund natural gas-powered Ford Mustang
Fri, May 16 2014Soliciting investments to develop a street-legal compressed natural gas (CNG) powered Ford Mustang that can deliver 470 horsepower certainly wouldn't make sense on a site called Indiestopstop. Nope, Indiegogo is the more-appropriately-named site that one Michigan entrepreneur is using to try and crowdfund his CNG 'Stang. He's looking to raise $55,000. Michigan's Daryl Patrishkoff and his company Performance CNG LLC showed off their converted 2003 Mustang last year at the Woodward Dream Cruise in Royal Oak, MI in an effort to get some exposure for the car, which can run on both gas and CNG. The company and its three-man team is looking to further develop the project in the name of a fueling source that is 40 percent cheaper than gasoline, throws off as much as 30 percent fewer tailpipe greenhouse gas emissions and makes the country less dependent on foreign oil. Performance CNG estimates that just 120,000 of the world's 15 million CNG-powered vehicles are in the US and is calling for more. As for the $55 grand, Patrishkoff estimates that more than half of that amount would be committed to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) testing of emissions, fuel economy and horsepower. The problem? As of right now, only $150 has been raised. Check out Performance CNG's press release below and see the fundraising effort on Indiegogo here. Eco-Friendly Muscle Car? CNG vehicles save money, emit less pollution and creates jobs from American-mined fuel SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich., May 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Daryl Patrishkoff of Shelby Township, MI, has a vision for the American automotive industry. He firmly believes that our fuel of choice should be Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), not gasoline. Until the full CNG infrastructure is in place a Bi-Fuel vehicle, fueled by either CNG or gasoline upon the drivers command, is the bridge vehicle that can lead this transition. Patrishkoff heads up a (3) man technical team developing this technology. The advantages are: 40 percent savings in fuel costs at the pump 25-30 percent reduction in harmful emissions 100 percent US provided natural gas Meaningful employment for the US economy The most important benefit, however, is that a CNG-powered vehicle runs on fuel that can be mined in America, eliminating the need for foreign oil. "After decades of political rhetoric, these types of vehicles can truly lead the US to energy independence," he said.
