2004 F350 Dually Lariat Truck.

Truck has been gone over - Clean good solid truck that runs well. 128k miles Lariat Edition - leather seats / heated seats / heated mirrors.
Has regular wear and tear. A few dings.  A tire blew 18 months ago and the wheel well in the back needed to be replaced (only accident on record)

We bought this truck when it had around 110k miles mainly to use it to tow our 26' toy hauler. We have put around 20k miles on it and have kept it maintained and serviced properly.

It's been a good truck for us. Truck is in good condition and it runs great. No issues with overheating, etc. We have recently completed maintenance and work on the truck and were planning on keeping it. We changed our minds and decided to buy something a bit smaller as we don't tow much anymore. (Family getting smaller)

We just returned from a family vacation towing the camper up through Logan when it was 103 degrees outside. Truck ran great. AC blew cold and no issues at all with the trip or the truck. We have never had a performance chip on it.

Never had major issues with it. We know of nothing major wrong with the truck. Motor was inspected 3k miles ago - everything was solid. Turbos were clean - vanes were clean and working well. Good truck.

Our toy hauler trailer brakes weren't working last trip but our wiring on the trailer plug was damaged.   Truck may need to have trailer wiring inspected or repaired.
It does come with a power brake controller.    Pulls slightly to the left when braking (always did)  However, this is common in these trucks.   It doesn't have alignment, brake or larger problems.
(I think tunex said cleaning the calipers could fix it but it wasn't worth doing)

Inspections welcome. Ready to go. Lots of service and new parts. Brand new batteries. All new nice tires (6) New brakes, pads and rotors on front New Brakes pads, parking brake on rear Rear Axle serviced, seals replaced, new fluids. AC works great - recently serviced U-joints replaced a year or so ago., Fully loaded with all the goodies, Looks & drives great,

Ford bondage ads reportedly trigger firings at Indian ad agency

Wed, 27 Mar 2013

You will probably remember the ads for the Ford Figo hatchback in India, the ones that showcased the extra large boot of the little hatchback by joking that you can fit three of your enemies in the trunk. One of the ads had Michael Schumacher in the front seat, obviously pleased about having Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso tied up in the back. But the other two had Paris Hilton and ex-Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi up front and three bound and gagged women in the back - in Hilton's case (shown above), it was the Kardashians.
This did not go over well, and Reuters reports that certain employees at JWT India have been fired over the matter. It is also reported that the images weren't actual advertisements, nor were they part of an actual campaign; JWT said they "were never intended for paid publication, were never requested by our Ford client." A JWT rep said the employees who created the ads did so on their own, Ford commented to Automotive News that the ads were "part of a creative exercise intended to test concepts for an advertising competition."
The problem, if the story is to be believed, is that the employees skipped the regular review protocols and uploaded their work to an ad industry site - they were found on Ads of the World. That page, like the employees, has been removed.

The fascinating forgotten civil defense history of Mister Softee trucks

Mon, 26 Aug 2013

Hemmings came across an interesting article from the Throwin' Wrenches blog about the intersection of ice cream, cars and civic duty in America's late 1950s. In particular, it focuses on the Mister Softee trucks, which criss-crossed neighborhoods of the eastern US serving ice cream. Looking past the ultra-durable vehicles used - heavy-duty Ford-based chassis, for what it's worth - the article delves into some deeper national-security territory.
See, Mister Softee truck owners were voluntary members of the Civil Defense, thanks to all the useful stuff (potable water, generators, freezers and fridges) that the machines carried with them for serving ice cream. Click over to Throwin' Wrenches for the full run down of how Mister Softee would have stepped in to help fight if the Cold War ever turned a little hotter.
